IRAN BASH BEX ALERT - Congressman: Classified details of Iran's treatment of US sailors will shock nation

The classified details behind Iran’s treatment of several U.S. sailors who were captured by the Islamic Republic during a tense standoff earlier this year are likely to shock the nation, according to one member of the House Armed Services Committee, who disclosed to the Washington Free Beacon that these details are currently being withheld by the Obama administration.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is more of the propaganda push to demonize Iran and start yet another war there.

Small detail everyone forgets; those sailors violated Iran's territorial waters.

Iran Seeks Compensation From US for 1953 Coup

Iran’s parliament today voted on a bill requiring the government to request compensation from the United States for damages caused by the CIA’s 1953 imposition of a coup d’etat against Iran’s democratically elected government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In this case, the US has admitted to this crime.

U.S., Russia stalemate on Syria frustrates European powers

The Obama administration's failure to convince Moscow that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad must go is fuelling European frustration at being sidelined in efforts to end the country's five-year civil war, diplomats say. Some diplomats and analysts question whether the United States has misread Russia's desire to keep Assad in power.

"Many have consistently underestimated Russia's determination to prevent this regime from falling," said Philip Gordon, a former National Security Council aide to U.S. President Barack Obama. "They've been pretty clear that they're not prepared to let this happen."

Ahead of a meeting on Tuesday of the 17-nation group backing Syria peace talks in Vienna, a senior U.N. diplomat, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that Europeans "tend to be pretty skeptical about the U.S.-Russia bilateralism."

Webmaster's Commentary:

This situation is very clear-cut; the US government wants Al-Assad out, and by any means necessary, and soon.

Russia will do everything possible to make sure that does not happen, until a true political transition is agreed upon by all parties, with Al-Assad staying during the transition at least for some period of time.

Regime change in Syria will make the long planned invasion of Iran by the US military easier (they think).

But should Iran be invaded, Russia will come to its aid militarily; various high profile politicians and military personnel have stated this very publicly.

With US troops on the ground in Syria (and we still don't know the real numbers on this), it is only a question of time before we see some degree of military escalation between Russia and the US government over Syria, and potentially Iran; unfortunately, this is inevitable.

ISRAELI LEADER: IRAN MOCKS WWII HOLOCAUST, PREPARES ANOTHER

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lashed out at Iran Sunday for staging a Holocaust-themed cartoon contest that mocked the Nazi genocide of six million Jews during World War II and said the Islamic Republic was busy planning for another one.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A short memo to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu: the Holocaust-themed cartoon contest may be in horrific taste, but you are absolutely lying when you state that Iran is busy planning for a new Holocaust.

Iranian leadership may be many things, but stupid is not one of them. They understand, clearly, that their country would be zorched into a sea of molten glass if they try anything as crazy as a military strike against Israel, because the retaliation, from both the US and Israel, would be nuclear should they dare do such a thing.

They, too, love their kids, and want them to have a decent future.

And another thing: President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad never said he wanted to wipe Israel off the map. As reported at globalresearch.ca:

So what did Ahmadinejad actually say? To quote his exact words in farsi: ”Imam ghoft een rezhim-e ishghalgar-e qods bayad az safheh-ye ruzgar mahv shavad.” That passage will mean nothing to most people, but one word might ring a bell: rezhim-e. It is the word “Regime“, pronounced just like the English word with an extra “eh” sound at the end. Ahmadinejad did not refer to Israel the country or Israel the land mass, but the Israeli regime. This is a vastly significant distinction, as one cannot wipe a regime off the map. Ahmadinejad does not even refer to Israel by name, he instead uses the specific phrase ”rezhim-e ishghalgar-e qods” (regime occupying Jerusalem).

Mr. Prime Minister, as an erudite man, you know this to be true, rather then the fabrication you've created.. And yet you continue with this lie as though it were the truth.

Can you not understand that statements like this "Netan-bloviation" just completely demolishes any shred of credibility you might have had, not only with the Israeli electorate, but also with the world at large?!?

Do you want to go down in history as one Israel's bravest prime minister?!?

Then, sir, travel to Tehran, and negotiate a comprehensive peace deal with Iran, which includes both Israel's and Palestine's right to exist, mutual trade with Iran, educational and scientific cooperation.

THAT would take... real "male attributes!!

Hillary Clinton: “If I’m President, We Will Attack Iran… We would be Able to Totally Obliterate Them.”

As a 2008 presidential aspirant, she addressed AIPAC’s annual convention saying:

The United States stands with Israel now and forever. We have shared interests….shared ideals….common values. I have a bedrock commitment to Israel’s security.

(O)ur two nations are fighting a shared threat” against Islamic extremism. I strongly support Israel’s right to self-defense (and) believe America should aid in that defense.

I am committed to making sure that Israel maintains a military edge to meet increasing threats. I am deeply concerned about the growing threat in Gaza (and) Hamas’ campaign of terror.

No such campaign exists. The only threats Israel faces are ones it invents.

Clinton repeated tired old lies saying Hamas’ charter “calls for the destruction of Israel. Iran threatens to destroy Israel.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The degree to which Clinton is able to continue to swallow, then spew, the hubristic rhetoric of Bibi Netanyahu on Iran is nothing short of completely amazing; if this was a world class sporting event, Hillary would definitely win the gold.

Please remember; a Clinton presidency will mean more wars; more income inequality; more federal debt; more outsourcing/offshoring of American jobs; more illegal immigration and subsequent diminution of American wages; and an increasingly fractured United States of America.

The Iranians may be many things; one of those, however, is not stupid. They do understand that any attempt at any attacks on Israel will result on their country being transformed into a molten sea of green glass by US/Israeli nuclear weapons.

Interestingly, one question regarding Iran which no one in the alleged press corps will ask her is, "If the US unilaterally attacks Iran, what will Russia do?!?

There is one video I would encourage everyone who reads WRH to see: it is titled "Don't tell My Mother I'm In Iran", and focuses on the adventures of a very charming Jewish videographer in Tehran, to investigate how the Jews in Iran are doing.

Neocons Want Iran Nuclear Deal Rescinded

In a Monday Independent Journal op-ed, neocon House Speaker Paul Ryan claimed Obama “misled the American people on the Iran (nuclear) deal…Everything about (it) is starting to unravel.”

Nothing supports his baseless claims. Tehran’s best faith efforts along with four of the other P5 countries plus Germany may go for naught if neocons infesting Washington get their way.

Longstanding US policy toward Iran remains hostile - solely for its sovereign independence, unrelated to its nuclear program, well known to be peaceful without a military component or intention to have one.

Ryan and likeminded neocons want Iran kept isolated, the nuclear deal rescinded and regime change actively pursued. He opposes even modest changes in longstanding hostile policy.

Iranian Admiral Threatens to Sink Us Ships in Persian Gulf

The US government still views Iran as a defiant regime that won’t bend to their interests, and the Iranians have no reason to believe that our government is altruistic after we provided so much clandestine support to the rebels in Syria. And frankly, they’ll probably never trust us so long as we’re allied with Saudi Arabia.

Which explains why officials with the Iranian government still like to hurl threats at the US from time to time, the latest of which comes from an Iranian admiral. On Monday, Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi asserted on state television that “Wherever the Americans look in the Persian Gulf, they will see us,” before adding “they know that if they commit the slightest mistake, we will drown their vessels in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, or the Sea of Oman.”

IRAN’S AIR DEFENSES EQUIPPED WITH S-300 MISSILES FROM RUSSIA

The Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base has received the strategic S-300 air defense missile system, Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said on the sidelines of a visit to an exhibition of the achievements of the Iranian Army’s air defense base.

Highlighting the country’s major strides toward self-sufficiency in the area of air defense, he added that Iran has developed its domestically-built Bavar-373 air defense system and will launch its mass production line this year.

He said the Iranian system enjoys specifications and functions similar to those of S-300.

Dehqan further said that Bavar-373 can simultaneously engage multiple aircraft, ballistic missiles, and drones.

Back in April, Iran displayed part of the Russian-made S-300 air defense missile system in a military parade in Tehran, held to mark the National Army Day.

Iran will sue US over decision to give terror victims $2 billion from frozen funds

Iran is planning to take legal action against the United States in international court over a US Supreme Court ruling that granted American terror victims $2 billion from frozen funds belonging to Tehran.

In April, the US Supreme Court ruled that American victims of terror attacks in Beirut and Saudi Arabia were eligible to receive damages from Iranian central bank assets that had been frozen, upholding a 2012 law passed by Congress permitting the payments.

120 nations accuse US top court of violating law over Iran

The 120-nation Nonaligned Movement headed by Iran accused the U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday of violating international law by ruling that nearly $2 billion in frozen Iranian assets can be paid to victims of attacks linked to the country.

A communique issued by the NAM's Coordinating Bureau follows an Iranian appeal to the United Nations last week to intervene with the U.S. government to prevent the loss of their funds. Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called the ruling an "outrageous robbery, disguised under a court order."

Obama Pledges to Defend Gulf States Against Iran

During his visit to Saudi Arabia to attend the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit, President Obama provided the GCC member nations with a personal guarantee that the United States would defend their nations against “Iranian aggression.”

The comments were intended to placate the GCC member nations, particularly Saudi Arabia, as they are all openly angry about the US involvement in the P5+1 nuclear deal. Obama insisted that despite the deal, the US has “serious concerns about Iran’s behavior.”

The offer is likely an empty one, since Obama’s comments do not constitute a treaty of defense, and with him out of office in just eight months, it would be up to future presidents to decide if they actually wanted to get involved in future wars in the region.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, how can you possibly characterize Iran's behaviour as "Iranian aggression", when all they want is trade and modernization?!?

And when was the last time Iran went to war against any of its neighbors?!?

Sir, you need to brush up on your history; the last time that happened, the US government was supporting Saddam Hussein's Iraq in a war against Iran.

As reported at wickipedia.com:

United States support for Iraq during the Iran–Iraq War, against post-revolutionary Iran, included several billion dollars' worth of economic aid, the sale of dual-use technology, non-U.S. origin weaponry, military intelligence, Special Operations training, and direct involvement in warfare against Iran.[1][2] Support from the U.S. for Iraq was not a secret and was frequently discussed in open session of the Senate and House of Representatives. On June 9, 1992, Ted Koppel reported on ABC's Nightline that the "Reagan/Bush administrations permitted—and frequently encouraged—the flow of money, agricultural credits, dual-use technology, chemicals, and weapons to Iraq."[3]

Additionally, as reported at the nytimes.com in January of 1992:

The Reagan Administration secretly decided to provide highly classified intelligence to Iraq in the spring of 1982 -- more than two years earlier than previously disclosed -- while also permitting the sale of American-made arms to Baghdad in a successful effort to help President Saddam Hussein avert imminent defeat in the war with Iran, former intelligence and State Department officials say. The American decision to lend crucial help to Baghdad so early in the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war came after American intelligence agencies warned that Iraq was on the verge of being overrun by Iran, whose army was bolstered the year before by covert shipments of American-made weapons. The New York Times and others reported last year that the Reagan Administration secretly decided shortly after taking office in January 1981 to allow Israel to ship several billion dollars' worth of American arms and spare parts to Iran. That intervention and the decision to aid Iraq directly in 1982 provide evidence that Washington played a much greater role than was previously known in affecting the course of the long and costly Iran-Iraq war. U.S. Asserted Neutrality The interventions also raise questions about the White House's often-stated insistence in the early 1980's that it was remaining neutral in the Iran-Iraq war, since the United States was arming both sides in its desire to see neither side dominate the vital oil region.

Sir, forgive me, but if I understand this as an ordinary American citizen, why do you not understand this?!?

SAUDI FOREIGN MINISTER ADMITS SAUDIS CREATED ISIS

The Saudis could never reconcile themselves to the US-led invasion of Iraq, not because it toppled Saddam Hussein but because it led to Shia majority rule in an Arab country. When Hosni Mubarak was toppled by Egypt’s popular revolt in 2011, Riyadh accused Mr Obama of betraying a US ally.

After the Iraqi city of Mosul fell to a lightning Isis offensive in 2014, even the late Prince Saud al-Faisal, the respected Saudi foreign minister, remonstrated with John Kerry, US secretary of state, that “Daesh [Isis] is our [Sunni] response to your support for the Da’wa” — the Tehran-aligned Shia Islamist ruling party of Iraq.

US Supreme Court rules Iran must pay almost $2bn to victims of 1983 terror attacks

The US Supreme Court has ruled that Iran must pay nearly US$2 billion in compensation to relatives of the 241 Marines who died in a 1983 terrorist attack in Beirut, as well as victims of other attacks that courts have linked to Tehran.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a dangerous precedent. There is no evidence that Iran had anything to do with Beirut. In fact it has all the hallmarks of a false-flag (including Israel foreknowledge). But the US courts are simply declaring nations guilty of crimes and then confiscating their wealth inside the US. This is being done not only for financial gain but propaganda value, convincing the American people that Iran deserves to be invaded.

Now they are starting the same process with Saudi Arabia, claiming some 28 pages of dubious authenticity prove Saudi Arabia was behind 9-11, with Congress preparing to pass a bill to allow seizure of Saudi Assets, again for cash to prop up the failing US economy, and for propaganda value leading towards a new invasion.

But this could backfire in a huge way as other nations may decide that investing in the US has become a high-risk venture when the US government can simply hurl an unfounded accusation and seize assets. Those other nations might decide it is time to dump their US investments and get their cash out while they still can, all at once.

Saudis Retaliate To "Oil Freeze" Fallout: Ban Transport Of Iranian Crude In Territorial Waters

At first, when it announced the terms of its "oil freeze" agreement with Russia one month ago, Saudi Arabia seemed willing to grant Iran a temporary exemption from the supply freeze, at least until it recovers its pre-embargo production levels. That however changed on Friday when the country's Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, shocked Saudi Arabia's Arab allies in the Persian Gulf, telling Bloomberg his country would only join the freeze curbe Iran - and all other OPEC member nations - also joined.

Following the Friday announcement, yesterday Iran's oil minister Zangadeh made it clear that the country rejects Saudi demands, and would continue ramping up production at will, in the process making the April 17 Doha meeting meaningless.

Hillary Clinton: “If I’m President, We Will Attack Iran… We would be Able to Totally Obliterate Them.”

On July 3, 2015, presidential aspirant Hillary Clinton addressed a hand-picked audience at a Dartmouth College campaign event. She lied calling Iran an “existential threat to Israel… I hope we are able to get a deal next week that puts a lid on (its) nuclear weapons program.”

Even if we do get such a deal, we will still have major problems from Iran. They are the world’s chief sponsor of terrorism.

They use proxies like Hezbollah to sow discord and create insurgencies to destabilize governments. They are taking more and more control of a number of nations in the region and they pose an existential threat to Israel.

We…have to turn our attention to working with our partners to try to reign in and prevent this continuing Iranian aggressiveness.

Fact: US and Israeli intelligence both say Iran’s nuclear program has no military component. No evidence whatever suggests Tehran wants one. Plenty indicates otherwise.

All Quiet in the Eurasian Front

Iran will once again be discussed at the UN Security Council. The reason: recent ballistic missile tests, which according to the West, are “capable of delivering nuclear weapons” – an alleged violation of the 2015 UN Security Council Resolution 2231.

This is bogus. Tehran did test-launch ballistic missiles in early March. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei stressed missiles were key to Iran's future defense. Ballistic missiles have nothing to do with Iran’s nuclear program; and yet Washington kept bringing it to the table during the manufactured nuclear crisis.

Really? Before he repeats his claims at the annual American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) conference next week, maybe he should talk to some people who know a good security deal when they see one: Israel’s military and intelligence leaders.

I sent my plane because I backed the mission for Israel 100 percent.

2012 Clinton Email Reveals Syria War All About Securing Israeli Hegemony

Clinton noted that the operation in Syria was in part designed to curtail Iran’s nuclear program so that Israel could maintain its “nuclear monopoly” and thereby continue to dominate the region militarily. “The best way to help Israel deal with Iran’s growing nuclear capability is to help the people of Syria overthrow the regime of Bashar Assad,” Clinton wrote in the email.

At AIPAC, Hillary Vows to Uphold Israel's Military Dominance

On Monday morning, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton addressed the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, also known as AIPAC. Without mentioning Donald Trump by name, she attacked his neutral stance on negotiating a settlement to the Israel-Palestine conflict. She also affirmed the U.S. and Israel's strong military alliance, and she vowed to reestablish sanctions on Iran if provoked. Let's take a look at what she said.

We have been had! Just another Zionist puppet! This guy will get us into WW3 just like Hillary!

“My number one priority is to dismantle the disastrous deal with Iran,” Trump said, speaking before AIPAC in Washington, DC on Monday evening. “I have been in business a long time…this deal is catastrophic for Israel – for America, for the whole of the Middle East… We have rewarded the world’s leading state sponsor of terror with $ 150 billion and we received absolutely nothing in return.”

Trump criticized the deal for not requiring Iran to dismantle its military nuclear capability and only limiting its nuclear program for a certain number of years. He chastised Iran for contributing to problems in Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia by providing weapons and money.

“The West Overthrew all Democratic, Peaceful Governments. …It then Manufactures Terrorist Cells”

Since the peace talks in Vienna, known as the Vienna Process held in late October 2015, Iran joined the negotiations to find a solution to the devastating civil war in Syria that has left more than 250,000 Syrians dead since 2011.

The United States had previously objected to Iran’s presence at the peace talks, and in January 2014, the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon withdrew his invitation for Iran to partake in the one-day negotiations in Montreux, Switzerland.

It was conjectured at that time that the United States pressured Ban to back away from his decision to include Iran in the UN-sponsored event.

However, it’s has transpired that Iran can play a defining role in bringing back peace and stability to Syria given its close partnership with the government of President Bashar al-Assad.

Iran Blasts Presence of Terrorist Leaders in Geneva Talks on Syria

Amir Abdollahian made the remarks in phone talks with UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura on Friday. He described presence of the leaders of terrorist groups at the negotiations table in Geneva as harmful... Jaafari also dismissed the Syrian opposition negotiating team as a “terrorist Saudi delegation headed by a murderer”. Amir Abdollahian, meantime, appreciated de Mistura's efforts to settle the crisis in Syria politically, and underlined the necessity for focusing on Syrian-Syrian talks. De Mistura, for his part, lauded Iran's efforts in fighting against terrorism and its support for settling the crisis in Syria politically, and said despite the challenges, the trend of Geneva talks are positive and they will continue by next Tuesday. The Syrian peace talks have hit their first logjams, as disputes erupted over the composition of delegations to the talks and a Kurdish call to form a federal Syria with a semi-autonomous Kurdish region in the North of the country.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Although this artcicle claims Iranian media reported on the missile graffiti, no specific media outlet is named. And one has to wonder why such a provocative message would be allowed on a test missile, or why the Iranian media report it, knowing it plays into the US and Israeli propaganda effort.

The Envoy: Delusions about Iran and Iraq Invasion

Zalmay Khalilzad, a former US ambassador to Iraq, Afghanistan and the United Nations, has a lot of nerves to write in his book “The Envoy” that Washington and Tehran held confidential talks before the 2003 invasion of Iraq. He claims the Americans and the Iranians had major differences over how to form a new Iraqi government; that in May 2003 Iran also suffered from regime-change delusions; and that the Bush administration halted the dialogue after it accused Tehran of harbouring leaders of Al-Qaeda. Obviously, Khalilzad is desperate to change history. He claims Tehran somehow encouraged the War Party to invade Iraq and turn it into a failed state it is now. This is what they call “self-delusion”. What the war history shows is that Iran has always been against foreign interference in the internal affairs of any regional state - even its rivals. It supported the territorial integrity of Iraq back then. It still supports the territorial integrity of Iraq now.

Netanyahu Rejects Obama Meeting, Cancels AIPAC Trip

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced today that he will not be making a visit to Washington DC later this month to attend the AIPAC annual conference, and by extension is also refusing a proposed White House visit with President Obama.

White House officials expressed outrage at the news that Netanyahu was not only declining their invitation, but hadn’t declined to them personally, saying they first heard about it in the Israeli press, along with false claims from Israeli officials that there was no possible time to schedule the meeting with Obama.

Netanyahu had been due to arrive on March 18, and President Obama is scheduled to visit Cuba the same day, though the White House later confirmed that they’d offered to have Obama meet with Netanyahu before leaving for Cuba.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This incident makes it painfully clear that US politicians are for sale to the highest bidder; this is what nearly every member of the US Congress has become, folks.

They are absolute geopolitical prostitutes, with no honor, and no sense of obligation for acting in behalf of the good of this country.

They don't give a damn about you, your needs and concerns, but can be bought by Israel, in this case, to pursue a narrative and an agenda which would have been great for Israel, but was completely out of sync with the need of this country to not pursue war against Iran.

There are many things about which I have not been happy coming from the the Obama Administration; the P5+1, however, is not one of them.

This, for the moment, avoids a US-led war against Iran, which would have almost inevitably brought Russia in, on Iran's side.

This is absolutely no different than when Clinton, as Secretary of State, had $10 million dollars from Saudi Arabia funneled to the Clinton Foundation, and suddenly, the Saudi government, with a human rights record just to the right of that of Attila the Hun, "magically", found themselves able to buy $29 billion dollars' worth of advanced fighter jets.

Nearly every politician running for this coming election cycle should be wearing a huge, neon "For Sale to the Highest Bidder, No Foreign Bidders Rejected" sign, blazing on the front of their outfits; it's just that simple.

Turkey finds itself in a conflict with Russia and Iran over Syria, where Erdogan hoped to see President Bashar Assad ousted. Erdogan supported the Muslim Brothers in Egypt and now he finds himself at odds with Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi. Because of Turkey's uncompromising fight against its Kurdish population, as well as in Syria and Iraq, Ankara is also losing its influence with NATO and with the US. Turkey is now more isolated than ever and is therefore interested in renewing ties with Israel, in the hope that the Jewish state can help Ankara improve its standing in Washington. Turkey also needs natural gas from Israel in order to diversify its sources of energy and to reduce its dependency on Russian gas.

Most of the disagreements between Israel and Turkey stemming from the Marmara incident have already been rectified. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu apologized for the incident>>>

With Tehran Synagogue Doubling as Polling Station, Jews Vote in Iran Elections

Webmaster's Commentary:

Take a good, hard look at these folks, casting their ballots in a synagogue in Tehran.

Do they look harassed, or fearful, or upset in any way?!?

Folks, the short answer is, "Heck no!!"

And please, take the time to find the video "Don't Tell Mother I'm In Iran". And the reason I ask you to do this is because it records a Jewish community in Iran which is not only alive, but thriving.

Reformists Clobber Hardliners in Early Iran Vote Results

The full results of Iran’s election for its 290-seat parliament still aren’t in, but the results from the capital city of Tehran show a dominant performance by the reformist candidates, who won all 30 seats in the capital, in an embarrassing loss for the hardliners.

The reformists were expected to do well, with the reformist Rouhani government campaigning heavily on its success in securing sanction relief with a nuclear deal, something the hardliners opposed every step of the way.

Despite the early results showing the reformists dominating, analysts still say they don’t expect anyone to secure a 146 seat majority in parliament. There is also a vote on the 88-seat Assembly of Experts, which would be in charge of appointing a successor to the Supreme Leader, important as Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is in poor health.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Even though Iran is a theocracy, its young people yearn for a more progressive government, and more opportunities to engage with the West.

Well done, Iran.

Hannity Questions Trump on Israel vs. Iran, Palestine

Sean Hannity begins by asking Trump about Iran. "[If] You suspect they are trying to build nuclear weapons, they're hiding them from the world- what actions would you take?" Trump replies, "Well for one thing you have to rely on Israel a little bit because they know better what's going on over there than we do."
Hannity tells Trump that he was concerned when he heard Trump say that he would be neutral in the Israeli- Palestinian conflict. "You do see Israel is the victim in this?" Hannity asks. "Yes," replies Trump, who begins to list a litany of his Jew credo.

Presidential Elections 2016: The Revolt of the Masses

Commentators grossly oversimplify when they reduce the revolt to incoherent expressions of ‘anger’.

The presidential elections of 2016 have several unique characteristics that defy common wisdom about political practices in 21st century America.

Clearly the established political machinery – party elites and their corporate backers -have (in part) lost control of the nomination process and confront ‘unwanted’ candidates who are campaigning with programs and pronouncements that polarize the electorate.

But there are other more specific factors, which have energized the electorate and speak to recent US history. These portend and reflect a realignment of US politics.

In this essay, we will outline these changes and their larger consequences for the future of American politics.

We will examine how these factors affect each of the two major parties.

Israel accuses Iran of building up international terror cells

Israel's defence minister has accused Iran of building an international terror network that includes "sleeper cells" that are stockpiling arms, intelligence and operatives in order to strike on command in places including Europe and the US.

“The Iranian regime through the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is building a complex terror infrastructure including sleeping cells that are stockpiling arms, intelligence and operatives and are ready to act on order including in Europe and America,” Moshe Yaalon said on Wednesday following talks with his Cypriot counterpart in Nicosia.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me,Israeli Defense Minister Yaalon, but have you gone absolutely, completely barking mad, to make these accusations?!?

After the passage of the P5+1 agreement, countries are lining up around the block in Tehran to do deals; any violence done by Iran operatives would be like the country's government shooting itself in the foot right now, because with sanctions lifted, countries want to trade with Iran!!

THE REAL GOAL OF AMERICA AND ISRAEL: SHATTER SYRIA AND IRAQ INTO MANY SMALL PIECES

As I put it years ago:

“[T]he actual purpose was to blow the country to smithereens: to atomize it, and crush it, so that it would never rise again.

“When we invaded and occupied Iraq, we didn’t just militarily defeat Iraq’s armed forces – we dismantled their army, and their police force, along with all the other institutions that held the country together. The educational system was destroyed, and not reconstituted. The infrastructure was pulverized, and never restored. Even the physical hallmarks of a civilized society – roads, bridges, electrical plants, water facilities, museums, schools – were bombed out of existence or else left to fall into disrepair. Along with that, the spiritual and psychological infrastructure that enables a society to function – the bonds of trust, allegiance, and custom – was dissolved, leaving Iraqis to fend for themselves in a war of all against all.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please remember; Secretary Kerry's "Plan B" for Syria, if the cease-fire does not hold, is balkanization. And the so-called "cease fire" appears to have been engineered to fail.

However, there is one 6,000 lb gorilla regarding this scenario, draped over the Bosendorfer piano, and that...is Russia.

My sense of the current state of affairs is that Russia will do everything in its power (and that military power, right now, is pretty darned formidable)to keep Syria from balkanizing. It has long been a friend to the Syrian regime, and wants to make sure it doesn't lose its warm water port in Tartus. It will say "no" to any more US balkanization, and the follow through will be very ...muscular, militarily.

This article clarifies, very clearly, why the next President of the United States has to put the needs and concerns of Americans first, second, third, and not allow the US to continue in the role of a vassal state, constantly taking care of the needs and geopolitical ambitions of a foreign nation; that of Israel.

He called on all Iranian people, specially officials and politicians, to keep vigilant against enemies' plots to influence the country, and said when the enemy supports one group or person to start gaps and divisions among the people, a strong stance should be adopted against it. Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei underlined importance of the Friday parliamentary elections in Iran, and said the Iranian people favor legislators who bravely and vigilantly stand against the US plots.

The Russians accepted the US proposal to cease fire in Syria (or rather to end hostilities). They had made a similar proposal a few weeks ago, so this is in line with their thinking. It was a reputational victory it was as well as a military one. Russia entered the Syrian war at a low point internationally.

The Empire Doesn’t Retreat or Compromise

Reading mainstream media news, analyses, and opinion pieces about this war is completely useless, as everything is either uninformed and clueless gibberish or propaganda and deception.

I wrote this text over several days and every time I sat down again to continue there came another headline to my mind. The first headline was “Nobody said, that it will be easy,” the second “Waiting for the Turkey-Russia showdown,” the third “Playing the terrorism game,” the fourth “Everything is better than war.”

In the end I settled for the header “The empire doesn’t retreat or compromise.”

This statement stands the test of time, it has been proven throughout human history, and there is only one single exemption, only one short period where retreat and compromise are a possibility. This short period is the time when the empire is in terminal decline and in the process of collapsing.

"We call on the United States and other NATO countries to be responsible and discriminate in choosing targets, like the Russian aerospace forces are doing in Syria. There have been numerous reports about innocent civilians killed in NATO air strikes. The United States and its allies obviously must be guided by international law in conducting such operation. They should not act unilaterally but instead they must coordinate their steps with all members of the international community concerned," the document says.

Russia sends fighter jets to Armenia base near Turkey

The Russian Defense Ministry said Saturday that Moscow has deployed several fighter jets and a transport helicopter to Russia’s airbase in Armenia near the border with Turkey.

Four fourth-generation Mikoyan MiG-29 aircraft and a number of modernized MiG-29S bombers and a Mil Mi-8MT helicopter have been sent to the base.

Located at Erebuni airport outside the capital, Yerevan, the Russian base already has nine fourth-generation MiG-29 planes capable of carrying a payload of up to 4,000 kilograms of weapons. The aircraft also have larger fuel tanks.

The Armenian capital is located about 40 kilometers (25 miles) from Armenia's border with Turkey.

The announcement came a day after a Russian draft resolution that called for an immediate end to Turkey's shelling and military actions against Syria was turned down at the United Nations Security Council.

IF Turkey is crazy enough to taunt Russia further in Syria, Russia is prepared: that is the message of this deployment.

Kurds warn Turkey of ‘big war’ with Russia if invades Syria

Russia has promised to protect Kurdish fighters in Syria in case of a ground offensive by Turkey, a move that would lead to a "big war," the Syrian group's envoy to Moscow said in an interview on Wednesday.

"We take this threat very seriously because the ruling party in Turkey is a party of war," Rodi Osman, head of the Syrian Kurds' newly-opened representative office said in Kurdish via a Russian interpreter. "Russia will respond if there is an invasion. This isn't only about the Kurds, they will defend the territorial sovereignty of Syria."

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF in fact this information is true, we may be looking at an intense escalation of this war, happening in a heartbeat.

As reported in consortiumnews.com today:

When President Barack Obama took questions from reporters on Tuesday, the one that needed to be asked – but wasn’t – was whether he had forbidden Turkey and Saudi Arabia to invade Syria, because on that question could hinge whether the ugly Syrian civil war could spin off into World War III and possibly a nuclear showdown. If Turkey (with hundreds of thousands of troops massed near the Syrian border) and Saudi Arabia (with its sophisticated air force) follow through on threats and intervene militarily to save their rebel clients, who include Al Qaeda’s Nusra Front, from a powerful Russian-backed Syrian government offensive, then Russia will have to decide what to do to protect its 20,000 or so military personnel inside Syria. A source close to Russian President Vladimir Putin told me that the Russians have warned Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that Moscow is prepared to use tactical nuclear weapons if necessary to save their troops in the face of a Turkish-Saudi onslaught. Since Turkey is a member of NATO, any such conflict could quickly escalate into a full-scale nuclear confrontation. Given Erdogan’s megalomania or mental instability and the aggressiveness and inexperience of Saudi Prince Mohammad bin Salman (defense minister and son of King Salman), the only person who probably can stop a Turkish-Saudi invasion is President Obama. But I’m told that he has been unwilling to flatly prohibit such an intervention, though he has sought to calm Erdogan down and made clear that the U.S. military would not join the invasion..

However, Obama may not have the luxury of not participating; because Turkey is a NATO member, if it does, in fact, get attacked, the US government would have no choice but to defend it through NATO.

Let us pray that saner, cooler heads will prevail here.

False Flag Terror in Ankara: Turkish PM Accuses Syria “Of Being Directly Responsible”, Accuses Russia of Supporting Kurdish YPG against Turkey

On Thursday, Press TV reported Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu accusing Syria “of being directly responsible for” Wednesday’s Ankara blast.

“The premier also accused Russia of using (Kurdish) YPG (fighters) against Turkey,” Press TV added.

Erdogan intends using Wednesday’s incident as justification for continued cross-border shelling – perhaps a ground invasion to follow, a reckless act if launched, risking war with Russia.

Heavy shelling continues for the sixth day, targeting northern Syrian YPG positions, reports indicating government strongholds attacked, trying to slow down steady anti-terrorism advances.

On Thursday, Syrian and YPG forces seized control of Kensaba, the last terrorist stronghold north of Latakia province, along with the Shellef fortress, used by their forces

Retired Lebanese General Amin Hoteit calls Russia’s anti-terrorism campaign a major turning point after nearly five years of war.

How Far Will The U.S. Go If Turkey Invades Syria?

The Government of Turkey has now put itself in a position whereby it must act rapidly and precipitously to avoid moving to an ultimately losing strategic position in the war against Syria, which could result in being forced back to fight a full-scale civil war to prevent the break-up of the State into at least two components, one being a new Kurdish state.

Turkey’s leadership, in insisting - in 2011-12 - on sponsoring a proxy war to overthrow Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, has already led to a refugee crisis of irreversible strategic damage to Europe, but Turkish Presisdent Reçep Tayyip Erdogan, the Saudi Arabian military-political leadership, the U.S. Barack Obama administration, and the Qatari Emir now find themselves with nowhere to go except to escalate further in the hope that the Syrian revival, backed by Russia and Iran, will collapse.

First 'Silk Road' train in Tehran after 14-day journey from China

The first train connecting China to Iran through the ancient Silk Road has arrived in the Iranian capital after traveling over 10,000 kilometers, head of the Iranian railway company said.

According to Iranian media, the train, which has been launched in an effort to revive the ancient road, is carrying 32 containers of commercial products originating from China’s eastern province of Zhejiang.

The trip from China to Iran has taken 14 days over 10,399 (about 6,500 miles), taking the cargo train through Central Asian countries of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, Fars news agency reported.

"The arrival of this train in less than 14 days is unprecedented," said head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways, Mohsen Pourseyyed Aqai.

He added, "This is an important step for the revival of the Silk Road and the train has traveled 700 km per day, saving 30 days compared to normal time that takes to go this distance.”

Why the Syria ceasefire is a long shot

Washington and its allies are not interested in peace. They want regime change – by hook or by crook.

An end to the Syrian conflict is desperately needed. But the latest plan for a cessation of violence is unlikely to take hold, as the deal struck by international powers is based on fundamentally opposing premises.

In short, Washington and its allies want regime change, while Russia and Iran insist that President Bashar Al-Assad and his government are the legitimate ruling authorities in Syria. All sides are mandated by UN resolutions to respect the sovereign will of the Syrian people – to determine the political future of their country.

Turkey Vows "Harshest Reaction" To Kurdish Advance In Syria As Missiles Hit Hospitals, School

Over the weekend, the biggest story in the geopolitical world was Turkey’s escalation in Syria.

With the Sunni-backed opposition on its last legs in Aleppo and under near constant bombardment by Russia from the air and Hezbollah on the ground, Ankara and Riyadh have a decision to make: intervene or allow the rebellion to be crushed.

Well that problem hasn’t been solved, but Turkey doesn’t seem to care. Ankara began shelling YPG positions over the weekend at Menagh air base, which the Kurds seized from Turkey-backed rebels just days ago.

In any event, more than a dozen civilians were killed in Azaz on Monday when missiles hit a children's hospital. "At least 14 civilians were killed when missiles hit a children's hospital, a school and other locations in the rebel-held Syrian town of Azaz near the Turkish border," Reuters reports.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The deliberate bombing and assassinations of women and children in hospitals and schools, is a war crime.

Someone should, just possibly, mention this to Presidents Obama and Erdogan.

Of course, for these viciously corrupt, venal leaders, no war crime is too extreme to achieve their goals in Syria, which is regime change of the Syrian government.

But if there is a US-government enabled ground invasion of Syria, from Turkey and Saudi Arabia, Russian military retaliation will be both swift and brutal. And no matter how much the US government will want to spin this payback as "unprovoked Russian aggression", the world will know better.

Saudi Arabia to host ‘largest’ military exercises in region, 20 states invited

Soldiers from 20 countries are to gather in Saudi Arabia for massive military exercises lasting 18 days, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said. It comes as Riyadh has openly warned Syrian President Bashar Assad that he will be toppled.

The Saudi state agency made the announcement on Sunday, adding that participating troops will begin arriving in “the next few hours.”

The oil-rich nation described the exercises as “the largest and most important” military drills in the region’s history.

The so-called “Northern Thunder” exercise will take place in the north of the country and will include air, sea and land forces. SPA said that it will show that Riyadh and its allies “stand united in confronting all challenges and preserving peace and stability in the region.”

Among the participants will be Arab and African countries. The US and other Western powers have not been invited.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US military has not been invited because the US government has been coordinating these exercises from the get-go. The fact that the announcement was made Sunday, and the statement included the phrase "participating troops will begin arriving in “the next few hours", gives me the impression that this exercise has been planned for quite some time.

The Saudi government and military, collectively, will not sneeze without explicit permission of the US government, which is using this firepower (as they are doing in Yemen) as a proxy army against both Al-Assad...and Russia.

The only open issue here is how long it will take for the Russian government and military to strike back.

The West, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia have been warned, very concretely, what kind of blowback such an action will create; apparently, they have chosen not to listen.

This is extreme geopolitical recklessness, writ large.

On September 11, 2001 we Americans witnessed the calculated use of terror to traumatize our nation in order to impose a neoconservative political agenda that has been a disaster for the whole world, especially the Mideast. RUSSIAN PM WARNS US, SAUDIS AGAINST STARTING ‘PERMANENT WAR’ WITH GROUND INTERVENTION IN SYRIA

Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev told German media that sending foreign troops into Syria could unleash “yet another war on Earth.” The warning follows increasingly aggressive statements made by Saudi Arabia and Turkey amid Bashar Assad’s gains in Aleppo.

“All sides must be compelled to sit at the negotiating table, instead of unleashing yet another war on Earth,” Medvedev told Germany’s Handelsblatt newspaper. “Any kinds of land operations, as a rule, lead to a permanent war. Look at what’s happened in Afghanistan and a number of other countries. I am not even going to bring up poor Libya.”

The PM was commenting on recent statements from Saudi Arabia claiming that it was ready to send ground troops to Syria, should Washington lead the way.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The cease-fire which has been announced is both fragile, and tenuous enough to be broken at any second, particularly by those with a vested interest in regime change in Syria.

Russia has played this perfectly, and appears definitely to be the adult at the table in these negotiations.

The "wild cards" right now are Turkey, various rebel groups, Saudi Arabia, and Israel. I hope the leadership in these countries will cool their jets, let the cease-fire take place, and let a political settlement in Syria play out, if this is at all humanly possible right now.

Because a war with Russia over the future of Syria is a really, really bad idea; and particularly so for the US government and military, because they do not have the troop strength, the manufacturing, the weaponry, or the money to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war against Russia.

Washington Again Underestimated the Iranian Mind

Washington foreign policies these days are dominated by a bizarre kind of political sado-masochism, not unlike the argument given by the CIA that torture such as waterboarding is a successful, legitimate way to extract invaluable intelligence from an enemy combatant. Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo come to mind. The war-makers like CIA head honcho John Brennan or Victoria Nuland at the State Department, or neocon Ash (as in ashes of war) Carter at the Pentagon seem to be convinced that to be a great nation, first you must be “hard cop,” beat the daylights out of your target person or nation. You sanction them to the point of breaking economically. Then you flip sides and go “soft cop.” Their silly CIA and military torture handbooks tell them this works every time. Only problem, it doesn’t. This is definitely true with several nations today who resist the bully hard cop-soft cop games of Washington. What Iran is doing in terms of pricing its oil export sales is an example.

Congress throwing kitchen sink at Iran less than one month after nuclear deal takes effect

And later this month, senators are expected to roll out a series of bills to bring the greater weight of more non-nuclear sanctions down on Tehran, seeking to punish the Iranian regime for everything from recent ballistic missile tests to pervasive human rights abuses.
Note: Meanwhile Israel has nuclear weapons in violation of many laws but our congress does not care. In fact Israel gets 27 standing ovations when they come to congress.

AN EXASPERATED JOHN KERRY THROWS IN TOWEL ON SYRIA: “WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO, GO TO WAR WITH THE RUSSIANS?!”

“Russian and Syrian forces intensified their campaign on rebel-held areas around Aleppo that are still home to around 350,000 people and aid workers have said the city – Syria’s largest before the war – could soon fall.”
Can you spot what’s wrong with that quote, from a Reuters piece out today? Here’s the problem: “could soon fall” implies that Aleppo is on the verge of succumbing to enemy forces. It’s not. It’s already in enemy hands and has been for quite some time. What Reuters should have said is this: “…could soon be liberated.”

While we’ll be the first to admit that Bashar al-Assad isn’t exactly the most benevolent leader in the history of statecraft, you can bet most Syrians wish this war had never started and if you were to ask those stranded in Aleppo what their quality of life is like now, versus what it was like in 2009, we’re fairly certain you’ll discover that residents aren’t particularly enamored with life under the mishmash of rebels that now control the city.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF Turkey decides to invade Syria in the short term, and Russia responds militarily, Turkey could invoke Article 5 of the NATO Charter (which states that if one NATO member is attacked, it is as though all are attacked, and all must unite against the attacker). That would definitely force the US's hand, militarily.

I would like to hope and pray that the leadership in Riyadh, Ankara, and Doha understands that when Russian government officials say, if you invade Syria, this will will be an act of war against Russia as well, that they completely understand that in this circumstance, Russia is not bluffing.
