Miko Peled # Zionism Must Go #Free Palestine, End the Occupation

Miko Peled talks of Changing the Conversation on Palestine.

"Connecting Gaza back to Palestine"

He began by saying: “To understand what happened in Gaza recently, you must go back to Balfour and to 1947”

“It is impossible to talk about Gaza, without talking about 1947 and 1948 and so on…”

He notes an attempt is being made to isolate Gaza from the rest of Palestine. Which is what Israel, the U.S. and the Europeans have been doing. By isolating it, they are stopping the solution.

Palestine is not Gaza and the West Bank. Palestine is the Galilee, it is Jerusalem, it is Jaffa and it is Haifa, it is the entire country, he notes.

The Peace talks and all these so-called efforts is an attempt to bring the Palestinians to surrender. But, the Palestinians will not surrender. And Hamas will not go away.

Hamas is an resistance organization. It was established as a result of a brutal Oppression and Occupation.

Pakistan Faces (Another) Military Coup As PM Charged With Murder

Having slammed the US for "liking only those governments in Muslim countries that are your slaves," opposition leader Imran Khan, just as we warned here, has given the army 24 hours to prepare a broad-based reform agreement on behalf of the government (having been asked by Prime Minister Sharif)... i.e. coup-prone Pakistan appears to be back under military rule (for now). Then things got even more bizarre as WSJ reports, Prime Minister Sharif is to face murder chargesrelated to the killing of 10 Muslim cleric Qadri's followers. Qadriu has agreed to wait 24 hours for the army response before announcing his strategy.

As The Times Of India reports,

Political crisis in Pakistan took a new turn on Thursday with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif agreeing to face a murder case relating to the killing of 14 followers of cleric Tahir-ul-Qadri, as Imran Khan kept up pressure insisting on the embattled premier's resignation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looks like Pakistan is about to undergo yet another military coup.

But, unfortunately, Imran Kahn is absolutely correct about the American government's position on the tin-pot dictatorships it supports.

In India, rice replaces ice in bucket challenge. No, you don't upend the bucket. You donate it to the poor.

The famous "ice bucket" challenge is inspiring thousands of Indians to follow suit, but with a twist - they are replacing ice with rice in a bid to help the country's vast population of poor, hungry people.

Mainstream media steps up anti-Russia propaganda on Ukraine

With regard to the goings-on in Ukraine, I have heard quite a few European and American voices piping in, saying that, yes, Washington and Kiev are fabricating an entirely fictional version of events for propaganda purposes, but then so are the Russians. They appear to assume that if their corporate media is infested with mendacious, incompetent buffoons who are only too happy to repeat the party line, then the Russians must be same or worse.

The reality is quite different. While there is a virtual news blackout with regard to Ukraine in the West, with little being shown beyond pictures of talking heads in Washington and Kiev, the media coverage in Russia is relentless, with daily bulletins describing troop movements, up-to-date maps of the conflict zones, and lots of eye-witness testimony, commentary and analysis.

Hate Speech from a Christian (sic) Organization

The demand conveyed in the above box is plastered on top of the most non-Christian web site on the internet: CUFI, Christians United for Israel. Would that it would read: Christians United for Isolation of Israel, then it would offer a Christian message of a peaceful means to stop genocide in Palestine. The very thought that an organization could call itself Christian and demand that Christians support the wanton slaughter of children and mothers and fathers caught like animals in a cage and mercilessly shot to death borders on the actions of human madness. What ministers of god would dare such mendacity in Christ’s name? How abhorrent.

40 Holocaust survivors condemn ‘massacre’ of Palestinians, call for BDS against Israel

40 survivors of the Holocaust signed the letter and 287 descendants of victims also added their names.

A group of Holocaust survivors and descendants of those targeted by Nazi Germany have harshly criticized Israeli actions in Gaza and called for boycotts, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israel.

Following a letter from survivors of the Holocaust printed in the New York Times on Saturday, the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network, which helped coordinate the letter, organized a press call Monday, where some of those who signed the letter spoke out against the assault on Gaza.

Pakistan premier refuses to resign amid mass protests

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has refused to step down amid mass protests in front of parliament calling for the government’s resignation.

“We are not going to be diverted by these things,” Sharif said on Wednesday, referring to calls for his resignation by thousands of protesters camped outside the parliament during the crisis which erupted two weeks ago.

The statement comes as cleric Muhammad Tahir ul-Qadri issued on August 25 a 48-hour deadline for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to step down. . .

. . . Sharif has ordered the Supreme Court to build an investigative team to look into the elections, but has said he will not resign.

India, Pakistan intensify cross-border firing as ties sour

Indian and Pakistani troops intensified firing across the border over the weekend killing at least four, an Indian official said on Sunday, straining ties between the arch rivals who recently called off top-level diplomatic talks.

Last week India said its foreign secretary would not meet with her Pakistani counterpart as scheduled on Monday because of plans by Pakistan to consult separatists from the border state of Jammu and Kashmir ahead of the meeting.
The cancellation dashed any hopes of near-term peace deliberations, chances of which had risen after Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif attended the inauguration of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi about three months ago.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A war between these nuclear-armed neighbors would be horrific for the region, and possibly lethal for the world, depending upon which countries would be on the side of India, and which would align with Pakistan.

Indian controlled Kashmir, in its entirety, should be given a referendum as to whether it wants to stay with India, or Pakistan, or become an independent country on it own.

Unfortunately, India refuses to let this happen, and Kashmiris are understandably upset by this.

The Mainstream Media, ISIS, and Iraq War Déjà Vu

It might not be possible to fool all the people all the time, to paraphrase Abraham Lincoln, but the record shows that enough of the people can be fooled enough of the time to achieve the desired result.

Only time will tell what the outcome here will be.

Stephen Walt, the co-author of the much-talked-about book, “The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy,” poignantly observes that “if the history of the past twenty years teaches us anything, it is that forceful American interference of this sort just makes these problems worse.” Note that this is a key point to refute the mainstream internationalists’ claim that US involvement is indispensable for the good of the world and thus it should eschew a policy of non-intervention.

Pakistan Opposition Leader Slams US: "You Like Only Those Governments In Muslim Countries That Are Your Slaves"

It is no secret that of all geopolitical crises in the past 5 years, the US has been the instrumental puppetmaster in virtually all of them: from Libya, to Egypt, to Syria, to Ukraine ("US Revealed As Alleged Mastermind Behind Ukraine Unrest"), even the ISIS insurrection in Iraq whose success would have been impossible without prior US weaponizing of al-Qaeda splinter groups in neighboring Syria. And now it appears the US has found yet another country for its "intelligence services" to alienate. According to go the WSJ, the leader of protests against Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif lashed out at the U.S. Thursday, accusing Washington of interfering in the country's political crisis.

48 suspicious banking deaths

With the global financial system heading towards a major crash in the near future are these people buckling under the pressure of what they see coming or are they being silenced because of what they know?

We can only assume it’s a little of both.

Our advice is if JP Morgan offers you a job: politley decline. The list of top level bankers dying under suspicious circumstances has been growing rapidly in recent months.

Whether these are genuine deaths or something more sinister one thing is for certain, banking is becoming one of the most dangerous industries to be involved in right now with an extremely high death per employee ratio.

9/11: A Conspiracy Theory

Everything you ever wanted to know about the 9/11 conspiracy theory in under 5 minutes.

WEBMASTER NOTE: Right now the corporate media is shoveling ISIS at us as hard as they can, in an obvious propaganda campaign reminiscent of the similar campaign about "Al Qaeda" and "Osama Bin Laden" that preceded 9-11. Given how desperate the US Government is to revive the war agenda, we should be concerned that a new false-flag attack, bigger and bloodier than the World Trade Towers, is being considered.

Tens of thousands of Pakistanis opposed to Pakistan's ruling parties and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have breached barricades surrounding the so-called 'red zone' in the nation's capital city of Islamabad on Wednesday as they fulfilled their vows to march on Parliament and other halls of power in order to reclaim the government.

Led by former cricket star-turned politician Imran Khan, who now heads the Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, and cleric and activist Tahirul Qadri of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek party, the demonstrators have been marching from various regions of the country towards the city center for weeks with promises of overthrowing the current power structure.

India: Supreme Court HPV Vaccine Controversy Continues

by Norma Erickson

New Delhi: A petition currently before the Supreme Court alleges that the Drugs Controller of India issued licenses for Gardasil and Cervarix without adequate research on safety. The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare had asked for a premier investigating agency to inquire into it way back in 2010 and no action has been taken on it.

Petition number 558/2012, filed by Kalpana Mehta, Nalini Bhanot and V. Rukmini Rao, seeks to resolve this and several other issues by asking the Supreme Court of India to rescind the licenses for marketing and administration of HPV vaccines, make provisions to identify and treat any girls left with chronic health problems and/or autoimmune disorders after their participation in HPV vaccine trials, and strengthen the regulation of the Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH) and other foreign NGOs so that they do not flout the laws of the country with such impunity...

The Beginning of World Shift

Russian Strategy in the Face of Anglo-American Imperialism
by Thierry Meyssan
Voltaire Network | Damascus (Syria) | 13 August 2014

Anglo-Saxon agression against Russia is taking the form of financial and economic warfare. However, Moscow is preparing for armed hostilities by developing its agricultural self-sufficency and multiplying its alliances. For Thierry Meyssan, after the creation of the caliphate in the Levant, Washington would lay down a new card in September in St. Petersburg. The ability of Russia to maintain its internal stability will determine the course of events.......

Obama: Netanyahu “Too Strong” to Make Peace

In order for peace to ever occur between Israel and the Palestinians, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu needs to be weakened, United States President Barack Obama asserted.

In an interview with the New York Times’ Thomas L. Friedman, the president said that Netanyahu was “too strong” and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas [Abu Mazen] was “too weak.”

According to Obama, in order for Netanyhau to come to the negotiating table and make concessions, the prime minister needs to feel more pressure from his cabinet and Israelis.

The president pointed to the fact that Netanyahu’s “poll numbers are a lot higher than mine,” which “were greatly boosted by the war in Gaza.”

Obama argued that “if he [Netanyahu] doesn’t feel some internal pressure, then it’s hard to see him being able to make some very difficult compromises, including taking on the settler movement.”

Boycott Israel: Now More Than Ever

It bears repeating. Committed ordinary people can make a difference. It’s the only way constructive change is possible. Bottom up alone works. Never top down. Israel’s day of reckoning awaits.

For many decades, Israel waged genocidal war against millions of defenseless Palestinians with impunity.

Accountability is long overdue. High crimes against peace were committed. Culpable Israeli officials must be punished to the full extent of the law.

The global boycott, divestment and sanctions movement for freedom, justice and equality works. Applying them with stepped up teeth more than ever is vital.

Hillary Clinton’s Criminality in Benghazi

Last week, former Secretary of State and presumed Democratic 2016 presidential nominee Hillary Clinton writes that her handling of the Benghazi crisis of September 11, 2012 actually provides more impetus for a White House run.

Rather than trotting around the book circuit claiming the mantle of White House frontrunner thanks to her inaction and malfeasance in Benghazi, she should be sitting in the defendant’s chair in a court of law.

The question for Hillary Clinton is not whether she should be president. The question is whether she should be in prison.

Modi Rewrites India’s Tryst with Destiny (II)

From the American viewpoint, India’s SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) membership literally caps the trajectory of US-Indian strategic partnership. The message is clear: India is unavailable as a ‘counterweight’ against China or as a silent partner to ‘isolate’ Russia.

The heart of the matter is that the SCO has disallowed a security vacuum appearing in Central Asia, which the NATO could have used as an alibi to step in. Put differently, so long as the SCO is around, NATO’s eastward expansion beyond the Caucasus runs into formidable obstacles.

That is to say, SCO challenges the US strategy to project the NATO as the global security organization that bypasses the United Nations as the provider of security. This is precisely why the US has opposed the SCO and did all it could to debunk the grouping.

Russia And India Begin Negotations To Use National Currencies In Settlements, Bypassing Dollar

That is about to change when yesterday the Russian central bank announced that having been increasingly shunned by the west, Russia discussed cooperation with Reserve Bank of India Executive Director Shrikant Padmanabhan. The punchline: India agreed to create a task group to work out a mechanism for using national currencies in settlements. And so another major bilateral arrangement is set up that completely bypasses the dollar.

Is Bangladesh the Newest Addition to China’s ‘String of Pearls’?

There has been a subtle shift in Narendra Modi’s attitude towards Bangladesh. Although in his pre-election rallies Modi had threatened to drive out the Bangladeshi infiltrators, his foreign minister Sushma Swaraj hardly mentioned the topic during her recently concluded visit to Bangladesh. The reason is very simple. China is now spreading its influence in Bangladesh very fast and India does not want to lose the confidence of Hasina Wazaed, the prime minister of Bangladesh, who is always looked upon in New Delhi as a traditional ally.

Nearly 300,000 suicides in India so far from GMO crop failures

The Western media is steeped in denial about the true damage being caused by genetically modified (GM) crops, especially in the developing Third World. But despite the lies you may have heard from mainstream news sources, nearly 300,000 Indian farmers have committed suicide since 1995 as a direct result of mounting debt and crop failures associated with GMO crops, and mainly cotton crops that were forcibly converted to patented, transgenic varieties owned by Big Biotech.

A report by India's National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) revealed that, between 1995 and 2011, 290,740 farmer suicides had taken place due to economic failure, poverty and bankruptcy caused by GMO adoption. And in the years since that time, for which there is no official data, there have more than likely been thousands of additional suicides, bringing this number to at least 300,000 and possibly higher.

Ukraine conflict: Ground forces 'storming Luhansk'

Government forces in eastern Ukraine have begun storming the rebel-held city of Luhansk with tanks, Russian news agency reports quoting rebels say.

Heavy fighting erupted as columns of government armour attacked from the south and west, rebel military leader Igor Strelkov was quoted as saying.

He said there were unconfirmed reports of special forces landing by helicopter inside the city of 425,000 people.

There was no immediate confirmation from Kiev but bloggers report fighting.

Pro-Russian separatist rebels have been fighting the government in Kiev since declaring independence in Luhansk and the neighbouring region of Donetsk in April.
'Seventy tanks'

"Heavy fighting is under way on the outskirts of Luhansk," Strelkov told Ria-Novosti news agency.

"The enemy has thrown around 70 tanks into the battle in two compact groups of armour. There is as yet unconfirmed information about a helicopter landing of enemy special forces in the city itself."

Webmaster's Commentary:

The number of civilian casualties being created by these military strikes doesn't seem to phase Poroschenko one bit; nor does he seem concerned that the killing of non-combatants is a war crime.

Over 800,000 flee Pakistan anti-militant offensive

More than 800,000 people have fled a major military offensive against the Taliban in a Pakistani tribal area, officials said Wednesday.

Tens of thousands of families have left the North Waziristan tribal area for the nearby town of Bannu.

Hundreds more have moved further afield to the towns of Lakki Marwat, Karak and Dera Ismail Khan since the attacks began in mid-June.

Officials from the FATA Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) said they were checking registrations for duplicates, meaning the figure may come down.

Some 833,274 people or 66,726 migrating families from North Waziristan were registered in cities of Bannu and Peshawar until Tuesday evening,” Arshad Khan, FDMA director general, told AFP.

Khan said 361,459 of the displaced were children and 248,633 women.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That the Pakistani government cannot do more to protect these helpless women and kids demonstrates an absolute breakdown of governmental capabilities.

Ahead of key vote, Pak's Gilani offers to resign

On what seems to be a an action packed day in Pakistan, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, who offered to resign, hours after being served a contempt notice by the apex Court, is slated to face a confidence vote on Monday.

Today is the vote on a resolution that seeks endorsement and support for "efforts made by the political leadership for strengthening democracy" and calls for reposing "full confidence and trust" in the leadership.

The Supreme Court, meanwhile, has also ordered the PM to appear before the court for failing to pursue long running corruption cases against President Asif Ali Zardari and other officials.
