The total killed in Gaza after 24 days of relentless Israel attack is over 1,400. More than 8,000 are injured. Another school bombed on 29 July, killing at least 16, became the sixth UN facility attacked by Israel. Gaza's main power station has been destroyed. On 30 July, a food market was bombed, killing at least seventeen people. This is mass murder on an industrial scale and deliberate destruction of the territory's infrastructure.

The massacre must stop now. If David Cameron had a shred of humanity, his government would be imposing sanctions and implementing an immediate arms embargo on Israel.

UPDATE: Less than 24 hours since the release and already this video has been viewed 3300 times (that is assuming YouTube is not artificially depressing the numbers) I am spending a huge amount of time deleting comments by Israel's supporters such as "I hope Israel kills every Palestinian" and so forth but otherwise the response has been huge.

A reader informs me that LiveLeak is blocking attempts to post this video to their website, on the grounds that showing dead bodies set to music is a violation of their standards. Somehow, I don't think that is the real reason.

Facebook, as of my last test, is not blocking posting of this video the way they did "All Wars are Bankers' Wars" but the day is still young.


This is a new video to Claire K. Rivero's "Kyrie Eleison" ("Lord have mercy on us all"). In the original version, I made a point of using images of child victims of all wars across the last few decades, but in this version I decided to not "go gently", and the images in this video are all from Israel's attack on Gaza, ending with a message to all American voters.

There is an interesting story regarding the creation of this video. Yesterday morning, when I started collecting the images, I was able to go to Google's Image Search feature and type in "Gaza Dead Babies", which yielded the images you see here. Later in the day, following Israel's bombing of the Gaza media center, cutting the Twitter feeds, and bombing the power station to silence Gaza's computers and internet connections, I returned to Google to find a few more images and found that "Gaza Dead Babies" not only did not bring these images up any longer, but tended to produce numerous photos of the three killed Israeli teens from the West Bank! Is this what they mean by Googliness?"

No doubt Facebook will block attempts to post this video as well, but take a look and help me make it go viral. When you see the message at the end, you will understand why.

You don't know where the next bomb is going to be dropped. People ran for shelter at UN buildings where they said is a safe space. But they attacked that too. So people are running to churches for shelter. Or even standing under trees, hanging their washing. They are refugees in their own country.

There is nowhere to go. Egypt is blocked, and we are not going to live like refugees, we would rather die here. If there is a ceasefire, I will leave for better opportunities.

We have not seen any action and we no longer trust the international community. This is what people feel. It's like a genocide.

The strikes by Israel's military on UN buildings in Gaza "do not appear to be accidental", the UN human rights chief Navi Pillay has said.

Ms Pillay also called for international law with "appropriate investigation, prosecution and punishment" to be applied to the incidents.

Bombed Gaza power plant investor insured by US development agency

The Overseas Private Investment Corp., a U.S. government agency that offers investment services to assist U.S. companies investing in developing countries, provides political risk insurance to U.S. general contractor Morganti to cover its investment in the Gaza power plant that was bombed and destroyed by Israel on Tuesday.

“The investor has notified OPIC that the facility in question has been damaged,” Charlie Stadtlander, a representative for OPIC, told Devex in a written statement. “As of this writing, no official insurance claim has been filed,” Stadtlander added.

OPIC’s coverage plan, which has been in place since 2004, is worth up to $48 million.

HSBC terminates Gaza-linked Islamic charity’s bank account and others

HSBC has written to an array of UK Islamic charitable organizations to inform them their accounts with the bank will be terminated. One such organization has carried out relief work in crisis-stricken Gaza for over a decade.

In formal letters issued to a think tank, a charity and a North London mosque, HSBC claimed continued provision of its services would counter its “risk appetite".

Family members of a man who runs the think tank have also received similar letters from HSBC. But the multinational bank reportedly offered no explanation for its decision to withdraw its banking services in these cases.

Western governments, including those in America, Britain and across the EU, are being urged to ban their citizens holding dual Israeli nationality from serving in the Israel Defence Forces. Five Latin American countries withdraw envoys from Israel

The decision of the Latin American countries to recall their ambassadors in Tel Aviv is a "deep disappointment", says Israel.

El Salvador on Wednesday became the fifth Latin American country to withdraw its ambassador from Israel in protest at Israel's military offensive in Gaza.

Brazil, Chile, Ecuador and Peru have already recalled their ambassadors.

Israeli Foreign Ministry Spokesman Yigal Palmor said that the move encourages Hamas; "this decision encourages Hamas which has been recognized as a terrorist organization by several countries. The countries standing against terror must act responsibly and should not reward them. While Hamas has been responsible for hindering a ceasfire, El Salvador, Peru and Chile were expected to support international attitude for peace and demilitarization of Gaza", the statement said.

Earlier Israel criticized Brazil over its decision to recall its ambassador in protest at Israel's military offensive in Gaza.

The strike against Cairo was recalled and the official story is that Israel mistook the USS Liberty for an Egyptian horse carrier ship, because as we all know, Egyptian horse carrier ships have huge dish antennas all over them!

Anonymous 'knocks out' Mossad website over Israel’s Gaza offensive

Hacker group Anonymous has reportedly taken down the website of the Israeli secret service Mossad in protest of Israel’s military incursion in Gaza. The ‘hacktivists’ have already targeted a number of organizations in their mission to stop the “genocide.”

Mossad’s website went offline at around 00:40 GMT and is still down at the time of writing. The Israeli government has yet to make any comment on the supposed hack attack.

This newspaper has long admired Israel and its beleaguered and resourceful people, who have suffered appalling provocation from enemies intent on wiping their country from the map.

Indeed, before anyone condemns them for acting against Hamas, we should consider how outraged we would be if our government stood by while neighbours rained rockets on our towns and villages.

Humanize Palestine

The holiday at the end of Ramada brings mixed feelings and we could sense this here in Bethlehem on the faces of our Muslim neighbors, friends and colleagues. They tell us of their sadness at the massacres of whole families but they also tell proudly of resistance, persistence, resilience, self help and help to other. It is still a month of blessings. I was at the bank of Palestine on Saturday and saw lines of people sending money to colleagues and friends in Gaza. We had cloth and food drives. Convoys bringing medical aid are finally being allowed to enter even as 150 bodies were pulled from under the rubble in one neighborhood alone. Israeli soldiers speak to Haaretz of large scale destruction of civilian neighborhoods in Gaza and surprise and fear at the resistance fighters. Most people understand that Gaza is a big crowded prison that is being subjected to a most ruthless occupation that destroyed its economy and means of livelihood.

‘Children killed in their sleep’: Israeli artillery fire hits UN school, killing at least 20

Israeli military fire hit a United Nations-run school in Gaza today, killing at least 20 people and injuring an estimated 90 people. The school under attack, called the Abu Hussein girls’ elementary school, is located in the densely-populated Jabaliya refugee camp.

The United Nations Relief Works and Agency (UNRWA), the group that serves Palestinian refugees, issued a stern statement placing the blame for the attack on the Israeli army.

Israeli play expelled from Edinburgh venue as Scots protest against Gaza attack

Campaigners in Scotland have succeeded in pressuring the organizers of an arts festival into removing the Israeli state-funded Incubator Theater Company from a city center venue in Edinburgh.

Protests against Incubator’s play, a “hip-hop opera” titled The City, began with a letter signed by over fifty of the most high-profile artists and writers in Scotland, including the Scots Makar (poet laureate) Liz Lochhead. The play was on the program for the Edinburgh Fringe, reputedly the world’s largest arts festival.

Abbas runs out of excuses for inaction on Israel’s war crimes

Israel’s latest attack on Gaza has now entered its fourth week; the number of Palestinians killed is nearing 1,300. And the Palestinian Authority still refuses to take any real action.

During a meeting in Ramallah this week, Mahmoud Abbas, the PA’s president, said, “The ugly and grotesque Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people must be stopped.” He added, “We ask the world to support us in seeking justice, and from now on we will study all our options to reach this purpose.”

That is typical talk from the PA. For years now, the authority has been studying “all our options” — without holding Israel to account.

PA works for Israel today, just as HAMAS did originally when it was set up by Shin Bet to be the controlled opposition to Yasser Arafat's PLO. Which should be a warning to Abbas that when Israel sees him as to powerful, they will turn on him as well.

IDF Sniper Admits On Instagram To Murdering 13 Gaza Children

An Instagram post by an Israel Defense Forces sniper boasts of murdering 13 Gazan children in one day. An IDF Combat Engineering Corps Soldier, specifically, David D. Ovadia posed with a Barrett .50 caliber sniper rifle.
Ovadia posted his comments on the Instagram account of Palestinian Sherrii ElKaderi.
The image was quickly screen captured in case Ovadia came to his senses and realized that he could be prosecuted for his admission of war crimes. It is unclear and perhaps unlikely that the Barrett was used in the commission of such crimes, as this weapon is usually reserved for the best of the best marksmen. In any event, Ovadia is in active deployment and openly confesses to killing Gazan civilian children. While not specifying what weapon he used, the posting of himself with the .50 caliber rifle was obviously meant to be visually intimidating to Palestinians.

John Prescott was last night accused of being ‘deeply offensive’ to Jewish people by comparing the Gaza Strip to a concentration camp.

The leaders of Britain’s Jews criticised the comments by the former deputy prime minister, saying they ‘trivialised’ the Holocaust and called on Labour officials to investigate his ‘misconduct’.

Lord Prescott wrote in the Sunday Mirror that Israel’s ‘indiscriminate’ bombardment of the Palestinian territory was a war crime and that Gaza was a ‘ghetto’.

Gaza Crisis: Dramatic Footage Emerges of Israel's Shejaiya Market 'Massacre' Which Killed 17 [GRAPHIC VIDEO]

Shocking footage has emerged of Israel's bombardment of a Gaza market which killed at least 17 and wounded 200 during an Israeli-declared humanitarian ceasefire.

The video shows ambulances, photographers and civilians flooding to the aid of victims at the site of a bombing in the Shejaiya neighbourhood just minutes earlier before the IDF shells the area a further ten times in the space of two minutes. The video can not be independently verified.

The cameraman drops to the floor as the first shells hit and shouts of "Yallah! Yallah!" [Let's go!] ring out.

In the attack, a photojournalist for the Palestinian Network for Journalism and Media, Rami Rayan, was killed.

The Gaza health ministry confirmed that two paramedics were also killed in the attack.

The attack came during Israel's self-declared four-hour ceasefire. However, it claimed that the Shejaiya area was not included in the humanitarian window.

A “joint high command” of Arab states is advising the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu how to press home his ground operation in Gaza, the Debka Net Weeky, a publication of a website close to Israel’s foreign intelligence service Mossad has confirmed.

The website said that Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah and Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi are in “constant communication” running daily conferences and sometimes more, according to the website’s sources. That communication is done over secure telephone lines, but such is the political sensitivity of their close co-operation that for really important messages human couriers are used.

Between five and ten thousand people defied the police in Paris last Saturday and protested in solidarity with Palestinians.

This is the second consecutive week that protesters in France have resisted a ban on Palestine solidarity protests.

In the face of resistance to the ban, the authorities allowed a static demo at Place de la Republique square, central Paris.

RAISING ON A BUSTED FLUSH - Israel Still Swears Hamas Kidnapped Those Teens

Prime Minister Netanyahu had promised that Hamas would pay for the murder of Naftali Fraenkel, Eyal Yifrach, and Gilad Shaar. But on Friday, Jon Donnison, a BBC reporter, citing the the spokesman, Mickey Rosenfeld, called Israel’s claim that Hamas was responsible into question.

Donnison tweeted that Rosenfeld told him that while the cell on the West Bank was operating alone, it was affiliated with Hamas. However, it did not receive direct orders from Hamas leadership.

Those tweets became the basis for a widely shared blog post saying Israel now conceded that the kidnappers acted in a lone cell and Hamas had nothing to do with it.

The twittersphere exploded with I-told-you-so’s from pro-Palestinian activists, who claimed Israel had manipulated events surrounding the killing of the teens to prepare for and justify its assault on Gaza, which has since killed more than 1,000 Palestinians.

Rosenfeld is now recanting his admission, but we don't need his word anyway. The claim that HAMAS kidnapped and killed those teens never made any sense at all. HAMAS and FATAH had just formed their unity government. They needed world support for what they were doing and would not have carried out an act that would turn world opinion against them.

Andrew Abbass didn’t quite know what to expect when he walked in the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s Corner Brook headquarters on Monday morning.

Open Letter to the Liberal Party of Canada on Gaza Massacre

Dear Liberal Party of Canada,

Whatever one thinks of the Israel/Palestine "conflict" or Hamas or whether Israel is a democracy, we have one simple question: when will you speak out against Israel’s indiscriminate killing of hundreds of civilians, including over 200 children?

The Liberal Party statement is so detached from the reality of what is taking place in Gaza right now that we have to wonder whether perhaps the second half of the statement got lost somewhere.

Four boys playing soccer on the beach, three kids feeding birds on a roof, and over 200 more; murdered for the sole crime of being Palestinian children. And while the Liberal party's public statement goes to great length to criticize Hamas for targeting civilians, it is entirely silent on Israel's killing of Palestinian children or civilians in general.

The Liberal Party statement fails to point out that it was the Netanyahu government that instigated this "conflict" in the first place.

Let's review the timetable.

Last month, three Israeli teenagers were kidnapped and killed in an IDF-controlled region of the West Bank, not Gaza. ISIS has taken credit and even the Israeli media admits that the two suspects named by the Israeli government are not part of HAMAS, but of a group known for disobeying HAMAS and trying to cause trouble for them.

But Netanyahu declares HAMAS, the legally elected government of Gaza, responsible and launches bombing raids into Gaza using the very latest high-tech weapons provided by the US Government and paid for by the US taxpayers.

To put Israel's actions into perspective, let us recall that over the July 4th weekend, 8 people were killed in Chicago. Using Netanyahu's logic, the Democratic party should be blamed and all of Illinois bombed and invaded!

The Palestinians, who have been attacked without provocation, fight back with their home-made rockets, which so far have mostly knocked a few roof tiles loose.

But to Israel's supporters, we should all forget that Israel attacked Gaza without a valid reason, and view Palestine's attempts to defend themselves as the crime, so that Israel can go on pounding the Palestinians with their superior weapons.

I want to point something out. The Israelis sit in their tanks, or the drone operations centers, or fly high above Gaza in their US-supplied warplanes, dropping the latest in US-supplied high tech lethal munitions, and imagine themselves the heroes they read about in the Torah. The Israelis, clearly unafraid of HAMAS rockets, line the hills overlooking Gaza and cheer the carnage, much as the Romans at the Colosseum cheered as the Christians were thrown to the lions. The Palestinians huddle in their giant open-air prison, without an army, a navy, or an air force, and fight back with home-made rockets made out of plumbing supplies.

Not since Thermopylae has the world seen such courage in the face of overwhelming odds. The Palestinians have balls the US and Israel can only dream of, and the world will remember their courage against the tyrants, and the lies by the corporate media's presstitutes and whorespondents trying to protect Israel's aggression!

From what I'm reading the Israeli infantry is getting it's butt kicked in close quarter fighting. Bombing a densely packed urban area into rubble creates almost impregnable fortress's for the defender and makes the job of the attacking force much more costly.

The Church of Nativity incident remains one of the most talked about acts of brutality by the Israel’s forces. The world saw a siege of the Church of Nativity on April 2, 2002 and it lasted till May 10, 2002. A group of Palestinian Arabs entered the church in Bethlehem, one of the most sacred sites for Christianity, seeking refuge from the Israeli Defense Forces. Israeli soldiers from the IDF surrounded the church and targeted Palestinians, exchanging fires and plunging into the discretion of Holy places of Christians, for which Israel is much noted for.

The first claim of a wrong move from IDF became clear from the statement of Michael Sabbah, Head of the Roman Catholic Church and the Latin patriarch of Jerusalem. He said:

"The basilica is a place of refuge for everybody, even fighters, as long as they lay down their arms. We have an obligation to give refuge to Palestinians and Israelis alike".

Israel is trying to move away from the embarrassment of having falsely blamed HAMAS for the killing of three Israeli teenagers in the West Bank by re-framing the current conflict as "Jews against Muslims." But you need to remember that Israel has a long history of attacking Christian holy sites, as well as blocking access to them during Christian holidays for "security reasons."

Two strikes which hit the compound of Gaza City’s main hospital and a nearby park killed ten children and wounded 46 on Monday – hours after Israel and Hamas had declared a truce.

The park in the Shati refugee camp was hit minutes after a strike on the outpatients unit at the Shifa Hospital on the edge of the city.

Ayman Sahabani, the head of the emergency room at Shifa Hospital, claimed that children were playing on a swing in the park when they were killed. Lawmakers Rally Behind Israel at Conference of Jewish Groups

U.S. lawmakers from both parties voiced strong support of Israel and its right to defend itself against Hamas on Monday, affirming their commitment to Israel even as the Obama administration has expressed impatience with the Israeli offensive in Gaza.

Israeli attack knocks out Gaza’s only power plant

“Gaza’s sole power plant has stopped working due to Israeli shelling last night, which damaged the steam generator and later hit the fuel tanks which set them on fire,” Fathi al-Sheikh Khalil, the deputy director of the energy authority in the coastal enclave, said on Tuesday.

Huge fires were raging near the plant Tuesday morning, reports said. Fire department vehicles are reportedly still unable to reach the area.

The damage of the power plant worsens the heavy damage to infrastructure in Gaza inflicted during the 22 days of Israel’s deadly offensive in Gaza.

Since July 8, Israeli warplanes have been pounding numerous sites in the Gaza Strip, demolishing houses and burying families in the rubble. Israeli forces also began a ground offensive against the impoverished Palestinian land on July 17.

More than 1,100 Palestinians have been killed so far in the Israeli attacks, and nearly 6,500 others injured.

Now I think it’s a good idea that the lads in blue are keeping their eyes open at Heathrow for British citizens who’ve been fighting in the Middle East. In other words, I trust that the Met is keeping its watch for all potential criminals, whether their foreign military organisations carry the terrorist label or not. I don’t know of any Palestinians who’ve been firing rockets at Israel and hold UK citizenship – Mr Plod should check them out too. But it would be very interesting to know if the British government is taking as close an interest as it should in any UK citizens – even if they have any other passports – who have been fighting in Israeli uniform in Gaza in the past couple of weeks.
