Life-Altering Copyright Lawsuits Could Come to Regular Internet Users Under a New Law Moving in the Senate

By Ernesto Falcon

The Senate Judiciary Committee intends to vote on the CASE Act, legislation that would create a brand new quasi-court for copyright infringement claims. We have expressed numerous concerns with the legislation, and serious problems inherent with the bill have not been remedied by Congress before moving it forward.

In short, the bill would supercharge a “copyright troll” industry dedicated to filing as many “small claims” on as many Internet users as possible in order to make money through the bill’s statutory damages provisions. Every single person who uses the Internet and regularly interacts with copyrighted works (that’s everyone) should contact their Senators to oppose this bill...

It comes more than a year and a half after accusations of sexual misconduct by Weinstein first became public, in October 2017 in the New York Times.

‘Homeland Security CSI’ July 4th TV special: Agents Dick Strong & Fannie Goode bring ‘Illegal Terrorist Combatant Associates’ to justice!

Satire often demonstrates how our real-world so-called "news," so-called "political leadership," and so-called "entertainment" help indoctrinate Americans to accept dictatorial government. Americans' loss of promised rights are real, forever lie-started and illegal Wars of Aggression are real, and exponential debt is real, and the challenge of US .01% "leadership" is to convince the American public to embrace these slave conditions as "necessary" for public safety.

Read on to see this is the point of so much of what we're given to watch for "public programming."

In America Money Literally Is Time - Unless Of Course You're Bernie Sanders

Money raised graphed against speaking time in the first Democratic presidential debate. As usual, there's a relationship that is nearly one to one.

What is anomalous is the 'lower tier candidate' effect: slightly less bang for their buck.

And downright unusual is the amount of time given -- or should I say not given -- to Bernie Sanders.

Announcement on Amazon producing the Lord of the Rings TV show in NZ is 'imminent'

The Government offered Amazon no extra sweeteners to film its Lord of the Rings TV series in New Zealand, according to a senior minister.

Economic Development Minister David Parker told reporters this morning that he had made it clear to Amazon that New Zealand had "a pretty effective scheme" in place already, through the Major Screen Production Grant.

He said he told Amazon officials before Christmas: "We weren't proposing to change [the deal] to make it more beneficial for them in particular".

Although stopping short of confirming the Lord of the Rings TV series would be filmed in New Zealand, Parker said an announcement on this was "imminent".

But he said it would be coming from Amazon, not the Government.

BERKELEY, CORNELL PARTNER WITH FACEBOOK TO IDENTIFY 'FAKE NEWS'

SOURCE: CAMPUS REFORM
Facebook is partnering with the University of California-Berkeley, Cornell University, and the University of Maryland to identify fake news.
The tech giant is investing $7.5 million into projects at the three schools, according to a UC Berkeley news release. The two Berkeley professors who will work with Facebook are Hany Farid and Alexe Efros, who are both part of UC-Berkeley’s Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences.

Farid has been a longtime critic of social media companies and the danger that doctored videos and images pose online. The professor has commented on this subject for CNN and admitted to the school that he is “skeptical” of the new partnership with Facebook.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have to look at that last paragraph, and laugh; of course, censoring out conservative content is absolutely the design objective of this project, and to push unthinking readers away from Facebook's censored sites.

Facebook has, very willingly, become a critical part, and a proud member of 4th element in in US government, alongside Twitter, and Google.

So now, we not only have the Judicial; Congressional; Executive branches of government; but also the Surveillance branch of the unhinged, surveilled, state of Amerika.

And and to those Foggy Bottomites in the Bowels of Power in DC; George Orwell's masterpiece novel, "1984", was a cautionary tale; NOT A HOW TO MANUAL;!!!

More U.S. millennials subscribe to video games than traditional pay TV: survey

About 53% of people born between 1983 and 1996 now pay for gaming services, versus 51% who pay for television, according to a survey from the accounting and professional services firm Deloitte.

That is compared with Deloitte’s survey last year, in which paid subscriptions among millennials were 44% for video games and 52% for television.

Paid television through cable, satellite or fiber - for instance Comcast Corp’s Xfinity, Dish Network Corp or AT&T Inc’s U-verse TV - has been challenged by changing viewer habits, particularly the rise of direct-to-consumer streaming services.

At the same time, video games and e-sports have soared in popularity, giving rise to an industry of competitive professional and amateur games watched in person and online by fans, alongside more casual gaming on mobile phones.

Radiohead Get Hacked for Ransom, Release All Stolen Material to Donate to Climate Change Protests

Experimental rock band Radiohead has released 18 hours of material that was stolen from lead singer Thom Yorke's archived MiniDiscs by an unknown hacker.

The group announced on its social media platforms today that the archive—consisting mostly of unfinished music and clips from the mid-90s—had been stolen last week. The hacker, or hackers, demanded $150,000 to keep it from being released to the public, Radiohead said.

In response, the band decided not only to ignore the ransom demand but release the entire trove of music to Bandcamp in aid of Extinction Rebellion, the new climate change movement.

Lights, Camera… Covert Action: The Deep Politics of Hollywood

Originally published by GR in February 2009, this article focusses on the role of Hollywood as an instrument of propaganda. The Deep Politics of Hollywood are part of the broader process of media manipulation and disinformation in support of US led wars.

Here we build a prima facae case supporting the idea that Hollywood continues to be a target for infiltration and subversion by a variety of state agencies, in particular the CIA. Academic debates on cinematic propaganda are almost entirely retrospective, and whilst a number of commentators have drawn attention to Hollywood’s longstanding and open relationship with the Pentagon, little of substance has been written about the more clandestine influences working through Hollywood in the post-9/11 world. As such, our work delves into the field of what Peter Dale Scott calls “deep politics”; namely, activities which cannot currently be fully understood due to the covert influence of shadowy power players.

As a result, writer Richard Ashcroft had to sign over his rights to Mick Jagger and Keith Richards - until now.

Speaking as he received a lifetime achievement prize at the Ivor Novello Awards, Ashcroft announced: "As of last month, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards signed over all their publishing for Bitter Sweet Symphony, which was a truly kind and magnanimous thing for them to do."

Elton John SLAMS Leftist Critics Who Have a Problem With a Straight Man Playing Him

Actor Taron Egerton, known by many for his role in the 2014 action/comedy The Kingsman, plays rock legend Elton John in the upcoming movie Rocketman. Many have complained that since John is gay, the role should have been played by someone from the LGBT community instead of a straight man, but John is having none of that.

“That’s all bulls***, I’m sorry,” John told The Sun in a recent interview. “If people don’t like it, review-wise, or it doesn’t make one dollar, it’s the movie I wanted to make and that’s all that counts.”

“I can look back and say, ‘You know what, I love it. I can live with it,” John said.

John took the position that the film needed to please him, personally, regardless of whether LGBT groups or any other political agendas were served. Much of that satisfaction comes from the good job Egerton has done in portraying the piano rocker.

US Adults Spend Crushing Amount Of Cash Playing Video Games

American adults spend enormous amounts of money playing video games, mostly on smartphones, and at a rapidly increasing pace, according to Reuters.

According to annual research from the Entertainment Software Association, over 164 million US adults play video games - a figure that's 20% more than a year ago and over 85% more than in 2015.

A staggering $43.4 billion spent in 2018 was mostly on content, as opposed to hardware and accessories. Of pay-to-play games, “Call of Duty: Black Ops III”, “Red Dead Redemption II” and “NBA 2K19” took the top spots for most units sold but the list did not include free games such as “Fortnite.”

“Games are striking an important chord with American culture,” said Stanley Pierre-Louis, ESA’s acting president and chief executive officer. “That’s what makes it the leading form of entertainment today.”

As Predicted, AVENGERS: ENDGAME Genocides Whites—Will Franchise (Like America) Survive?

Once and for all, who did it and why?

For the 57-year-old lawman, his was an undignified death. Pat Garrett was urinating on the side of the road to Las Cruces, New Mexico, about four miles east of town. As he was so occupied, somebody hidden about 50 feet behind him put a Winchester bullet in the back of his head.

On February 29, 1908, Garrett was dead. The man who had headed down the legends trail nearly 30 years before when he killed Billy the Kid, murdered.

It was a conspiracy. A contract murder. An organized crime hit.

Madonna Plays Apartheid

It may be difficult for some to understand the impact that a pop icon has on social and political events, but these cultural figures possess enormous psychological sway in the minds of millions. Their actions make a difference. So it can be quite jarring when one of those icons goes against the justified demands of an entire people, especially when they have been oppressed and persecuted for decades.

This May Madonna is set to perform two songs at Eurovision in Tel Aviv. She will reach an estimated 180 million viewers. She has moneyed backing too. Canadian billionaire Sylvan Adams has pledged to pay $1 million dollars for her performance at Eurovision. And she will simultaneously flip the bird to millions of Palestinians who languish under a brutal system of colonial oppression, ethnic cleansing and apartheid. Madonna is no stranger to this controversy. In 2012 she launched her MDNA tour in Tel Aviv against the urging of BDS activists.

Alec Baldwin Flirts With Presidential Run, Says Beating Trump Would Be "So Easy"

Alec Baldwin, the actor who is well known today for his widely ridiculed impersonation of President Trump, as well as his violent temper, is now considering a run for president.

In a Monday morning tweet, Baldwin asked his followers if they would vote for him if he decided to run for president, adding that beating President Trump would be "so easy."

Then again, he wouldn't be the first candidate to take that view.

Baldwin added that he wouldn't ask for any money (suggesting that he would self-finance his campaign), and that "I promise I will win." Of course, the actor has no political or government experience to speak of (unless you count his portrayal of CIA director Alan Hunley in the 'Mission Impossible' movies), and it's not clear exactly what his policy platform would be, aside from 'Trump bad.'

Dennis Day Dead: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Human remains found inside the Oregon home of entertainer Dennis Day are believed to be those of the original Mouseketeer. Though officials have not confirmed Day is dead, his sister shared a post on Facebook referring to her brother as being in Heaven.

Day, who would have turned 76 on Sunday, was reported missing in July of 2018. If the body is that of Day, which appears to be now widely reported but not confirmed, it’s not clear why the Mouseketeer was not located sooner given where his body was discovered.

Day, who was one of the original cast members of the Mickey Mouse Club in the mid-1950s, disappeared from the small town of Phoenix, Oregon.

Day told his partner of a near half-century Ernest Caswell, that he was off to visit friends. Caswell, who suffers from dementia had been hospitalized and now lives in a nursing facility, alerted friends. and police were called.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Normally I do not do entertainment news, but I knew and worked with Dennis in the 70s at the Renaissance Pleasure Faire and amusement park gigs in Southern Cal. He was a great guy, although frustrated he could not shed his Mouseketeer image. The story about his car seems weird, like why didn't the cops arrest those two for car theft.

If you watch his Redonkulas episodes over on YouTube regularly (which I do), then you will see that he comes across as something of a roaring asshole. He has no patience whatsoever for idiots, fatties, losers, and especially feminists. (Lord, forgive me my redundancies.) And if you judge Popp purely by what you see on his YouTube channel, you will get a rather skewed and deeply inaccurate picture of the man.

Alec Baldwin Hit With Bad News After Bashing Conservatives For Years

Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin has spent the past few years relentlessly bashing President Donald Trump and anyone who supports him. Now, this has all come back to bite him as he’s facing a lawsuit that is exposing the actor for who he really is.

Fox News reported that Baldwin is being sued by a man he allegedly assaulted in a parking dispute in November of 2018. Baldwin allegedly lost it on Wojciech Cieszkowski when the latter dared to park in a parking space that one of the actor’s family members was saving for him. After allegedly hitting Cieszkowski, Baldwin pled guilty to second-degree harassment and was forced to undergo anger management classes.

Now, Cieszkowski has filed a lawsuit against Baldwin in the Manhattan Supreme Court, going after the actor for his violent tantrum and for his “Saturday Night Live” impersonation of President Donald Trump.

Top US General Denies Plans to Leave 1,000 Troops in Syria

US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Joe Dunford issued a statement Monday denying weekend media reports that the US plans to leave around 1,000 troops in Syria, saying the reports are “factually incorrect.”

Dunford presented the current planned “residual force” as 200, saying that this hadn’t changed since February. The US announced 200 would stay on February 21, but on February 22 officially increased that number to 400.

It’s not clear from Dunford’s statement where the “incorrect” aspect of the new report, which came out of a Wall Street Journal, exists. That report suggested that the 1,000 figure was not yet finalized, but was being discussed. Dunford’s comments didn’t include any details on what is actually being discussed, but just that nothing was finalized.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think the multiple troop numbers being given, are simply a way of creating confusion about how many US troops the US does have in Syria.

Gary Sinise Puts Liberal Hollywood To Shame By Revealing Why It’s Important To Honor Veterans

Hollywood star Gary Sinise just opened up about why he has devoted so much of his time to helping veterans, and to lament the fact that many of his peers in the entertainment industry have politicized honoring the military.

Sinise has helped thousands of war veterans through The Gary Sinise Foundation, and he just told TIME that he does not see helping the military as a partisan matter.

“How have our defenders become a political issue? They defend us all. They are us all,” said the Forrest Gump star. “There are Democrats who serve our country, there are Republicans who serve our country.”
