‘EU will no longer follow US on Iran’

A senior Iranian energy official has dismissed US warning to Western companies against a rush for investment in Iran, saying European firms will no longer follow Washington's “possible hardline movements” against the Islamic Republic.

The remarks by head of Iran’s Oil Contracts Revision Committee Mehdi Hosseini came after a report said the Obama administration had secretly contacted foreign governments to remind that sanctions against Iran were still in place.

Syria: US Success Would Only Be the End of the Beginning

By Tony Cartalucci

An October 7, 2015 hearing before the US Senate Committee on Armed Forces (SASC) titled, “Iranian Influence in Iraq and the Case of Camp Liberty,” served as a reaffirmation of America’s commitment to back the terrorist organization Mujahedeen e-Khalq (MEK) and specifically 2,400 members of the organization being harbored on a former US military base in Iraq.

Providing testimony was former US Senator Joseph I. Lieberman, former US Marine Corps Commandant and former Supreme Allied Commander Europe General James Jones, USMC (Ret.), and Colonel Wesley Martin, US Army (Ret.).

All three witnesses made passionate pleas before a room full of nodding senators for America to continue backing not only MEK terrorists currently harbored on a former US military base in Iraq, but to back groups like MEK inside of Iran itself to threaten the very survival of the government in Tehran...

Putin’s “Endgame” in Syria

Putin doesn’t distinguish between the “moderate” terrorists and the “radical” terrorists, the good terrorists and the bad terrorists. It’s a joke. They’re all in the same pool and they’re all going to meet the same fate. They all have to be rooted out, apprehended or killed. End of story.

The Saker: Week one of the Russian military intervention in Syria

As I have written in a recent column , the notion that Russia has established a no-fly zone over Syria is plain false: four SU-30MS, even if backed by six SU-34s are not enough to establish any kind of no-fly zone. The real mission of these SU-30MSs is to protect the Russian Air Force from any overzealous Turkish or Israeli fighter, not to establish a no-fly zone. In fact, according to the commander of the USAF operation over Syria, the US flies many more sorties than the Russians. What he does not add is that most of these US sorties do not include the release of weapons whereas all the Russian ones do. But, really, this is comparing apples and oranges. The USAF can fly as many sorties as it wants, only the Russian aircraft are operating in close coordination with Syrian and Iranian ground forces.

What worries me most is that people on both sides like to engage in cheap bravado and say things like “the Americans/Russians would never dare to attack a Russian/American aircraft”. This is a very dangerous way of thinking about what is going on because it ignores all the historical evidence for decision-makers taking very dumb decisions to try to avoid appearing humiliated by the other side (Ehud Olmert in 2006, immediately comes to mind). The fact that Obama and the USA look totally out-smarted is nice, of course, but also potentially very dangerous.

Selective Service Reignites Registration Campaign

About a week ago, Selective Service pamphlets began showing up again in U.S. Post Offices across the country. With conflicts on the rise across the globe, the U.S. program has once again shifted into high gear to register all eligible U.S. males, legal and illegal, between the ages of 18-25 in the event a U.S. military draft becomes necessary.

Failing to register or comply with the Military Selective Service Act is a felony punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 or a prison term of up to five years, or a combination of both. Also, a person who knowingly counsels, aids, or abets another to fail to comply with the Act is subject to the same penalties.

BEX ALERT - Russia's Syrian bombing gives boost to Iran

Webmaster's Commentary:

The United States is desperately trying to regain the propaganda initiative in Syria now that Russia called their ISIS bluff, and they face an uphill battle because the world knows that Syria asked the Russians for help, but did NOT ask the United States to come in and bomb the place to rubble!

So the new propaganda spin is that Russia's helping of Assad against ISIS somehow aids Iran's rush towards a nuclearbombtheywillblowusalltohellwithblahblahblah. And because we are all expected to hate Iran like the loyal Israeli ... I mean Americans ... that we are, this will cause us to overlook the fact that it is the United States, not Russia, that is the aggressor, not just in Syria, but in Iraq, Yemen,. Libya, Ukraine, Sudan, etc. etc. etc.

Iran does not deploy troops to Syria — Foreign Minister

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has refuted reports that Iran redeployed to Syria its army units for participation in hostilities. He made a statement to this effect in an interview with the New Yorker magazine published on Wednesday. According to the Iran’s top diplomat, there are only Iranian military advisers in Syria who provide advice to the Syrian government forces. Answering a question about the alleged redeployment of Iranian troops, he said, "Wrong. We haven’t changed the nature of our presence in Syria. It continues to be military advisers, and no more. Actually, I checked, and I made sure that this was the case." Zarif supported Russia’s air strikes on extremists’ positions in Syria. However, he was critical of the Western coalition’s campaign against the Islamic State (IS) group. Referring to the Russian air strikes in Syria, he said, "We support anybody’s involvement against Daesh [Islamic State], provided that it’s serious."

How Putin will Win in Syria

By most accounts, the conflict had deteriorated into a stalemate. Now, with Russia in the picture, that’s changed. Now the table is clearly tilted in Syria’s favor.…

The reason Putin will succeed where the US failed in its war on ISIS, is because the Russian air-strikes are going to be accompanied by a formidable mop-up operation that will overpower the jihadi groups on the ground. This is already happening as we speak. The Russian Air Force has been pounding terrorist targets across the Idlib Governorate for the last few days as well as ISIS strongholds in the East at Raffa. Putin is going to cut through these guys like crap through a goose.

Iran's supreme leader says no talks with US can be held as they bring no result

Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday Tehran should have no talks with the US as they yield no benefit. "The path towards talks with the United States is closed as last time the result of these negotiations was only disappointment and they brought no benefit," said Khamenei, who has not publicly backed the nuclear deal reached with the world powers in mid-July. "Our talks with the US always turn to be America’s attempt to harm the Islamic Republic," he said. At the lengthy nuclear talks even when it seemed that the ways of solving the problem were found, Washington always "searched for a chance to pressure Iran and make us take a step at the expense of national interests," he said. "The US always conducts talks from the position of imposing its will," the supreme leader stressed.

Russia To The Rescue

Happy Birthday President Putin.Wish America had a leader like you!

If Syria has now effectively become a Russian protectorate, it follows logically that NO planes ought henceforth to be allowed to fly over Syrian air space without Assad’s consent and Russian approval. This will apply not only to Israeli planes but, by extension, to American planes, British planes and French planes. The distinction between the “good terrorists” (the so-called Syrian “rebels” backed by the West) and the “bad terrorists” and their affiliates (ISIS and their kind) will soon disappear.

The Russian aim is to support the Assad regime. As such, all the Western-backed “rebel” forces in Syria will henceforth be regarded as deadly enemies of Syria and will probably be destroyed. Putin has every right to bomb the Muslim mercenaries on the American payroll. A

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says holding negotiations with the US is banned as it has countless disadvantages and no benefits.

The Leader made the remarks in a meeting with commanders and staff members of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)’s Navy as well as their families in Tehran on Wednesday.

“The problem currently facing the country is due to certain individuals who are quite thoughtless or quite credulous and don’t understand these realities,” said Ayatollah Khamenei in an apparent reference to those who favor talks with Washington.

We Aren't Nearly As Worried About The Middle East As We should Be

What's the opposite of a gift that keeps on giving? A mistake that keeps metastasizing.

Which pretty much sums up the US role in the Middle East. Beginning with the CIA's 1953 overthrow of Iran's democratically elected president and continuing through the multiple regime changes and invasions of recent years, various American governments have behaved like they both understood that region and had the power to mold it into a docile client that pumped oil, suppressed dissent and otherwise caused no trouble.

Instead, each intervention turned up the heat on an already-boiling pot of corruption, sectarian rivalry and geopolitical anger that has finally erupted into regional civil war. The whole world, at long last, understands that the situation is beyond both US understanding and control.

And that's the good news.

Despite each year since 1996 of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu crying wolf that Iran is just a few months away from obtaining a bomb with no mention of course of Israel’s 80 nuclear warheads, Spy cables leaked earlier this year to the Guardian revealed that Israel’s very own intelligence agency, the Mossad, and the CIA both admitted that not only is Iran “not performing the activity necessary to produce weapons” now, it wasn’t in the past, either.

Saudis Mull Launch Of Regional War As Russia Pounds Targets In Syria For Fourth Day

As we put it on Friday, “if Russia ends up bolstering Iran's position in Syria (by expanding Hezbollah's influence and capabilities) and if the Russian air force effectively takes control of Iraq thus allowing Iran to exert a greater influence over the government in Baghdad, the fragile balance of power that has existed in the region will be turned on its head and in the event this plays out, one should not expect Washington, Riyadh, Jerusalem, and London to simply go gentle into that good night.”

Sure enough, some experts now predict Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey will move to counter Russia militarily if Moscow continues to rack up gains for Assad. Here’s The Guardian with more:

Webmaster's Commentary:

A small memo to the House of Saud; your country's coffers are hugely drained because the price of oil having taken such a precipitous drop.

The weapons you have purchased from your "Good friend in the West, the United States", may well be expensive; but they are no match for the quality of Russian weaponry we see on display in their blitzkrieg against ISIS in Syria.

You see, the Russian military and their weapons manufacturers have a tacit agreement that when weapons are deployed in the field, they will work as advertised; this is not quite how US weapons makers in the US see things.

For example, the F-22s still have a "minor problem" asphyxiating their pilots, which has never, ever been fixed. The F-35 has numerous problems, and can be shot down by 1970s- vintage aircraft.

Crown Prince Salman, I very strongly, urgently caution you not to go down in the history of your country as the Prince who generated World War III, leaving your country devastated and destroyed as a result, because the US government and military could not protect you.

And right now, Your Highness, the US military does not have the troop strength, the manufacturing, or the money to insure a successful outcome to a conventional war against Russia. That means, eventual use of nuclear weapons, if this gets out of hand.

Please, have some rational, frank discussions with your MOD, and walk away from this jingoistic, feel-good hubris, for the good of your people.

Sleeping With the Devil: How U.S. and Saudi Backing of Al Qaeda Led to 9/11

Jimmy Carter’s National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski admitted on CNN that the U.S. organized and supported Bin Laden and the other originators of “Al Qaeda” in the 1970s to fight the Soviets.

Brzezinski told Al Qaeda’s forefathers – the Mujahadin:

We know of their deep belief in god – that they’re confident that their struggle will succeed. That land over – there is yours – and you’ll go back to it some day, because your fight will prevail, and you’ll have your homes, your mosques, back again, because your cause is right, and god is on your side.

How The US Helped To Create Al Qaeda and ISIS

by Garikai Chengu

Much like Al Qaeda, the Islamic State (ISIS) is made-in-the-USA, an instrument of terror designed to divide and conquer the oil-rich Middle East and to counter Iran’s growing influence in the region.

The fact that the United States has a long and torrid history of backing terrorist groups will surprise only those who watch the news and ignore history.

Lest we forget, the CIA gave birth to Osama Bin Laden and breastfed his organization during the 1980?s. Former British Foreign Secretary, Robin Cook, told the House of Commons that Al Qaeda was unquestionably a product of Western intelligence agencies. Mr. Cook explained that Al Qaeda, which literally means an abbreviation of “the database” in Arabic, was originally the computer database of the thousands of Islamist extremists, who were trained by the CIA and funded by the Saudis, in order to defeat the Russians in Afghanistan.

“Israel’s security was and is a very important matter for every German chancellor – and so it will be in the future, too,” Merkel stated. “My statement must be understood in a very comprehensive way. It is frequently reduced to the military aspect, but it refers to an entirely fundamental commitment to Israel’s security. We are certainly not neutral.”

The chancellor also acknowledged — and lamented — the poor image that Israel has in Germany, and was fiercely critical of any comparison between Israel’s policies toward the Palestinians and the Nazis’ determination to eradicate the Jewish people.

How dare the Syrians elect a President whom a foreign nation – the US of A– wants to remove by it’s traditional ‘regime change’ approach for reasons of (US) ‘national security’ – what an outright BS! – It is no longer a secret that the PNAC (Plan for A New American Century) needs Syria to fall into equal disarray and chaos as did Iraq and Libya – and Sudan, Somalia, Central Africa; Lebanon and of course Iran – and on goes the list – for the ultimate goal: America’s absolute hegemony.

The Real “Blowback” in Syria

snip: According to Al-Masdar Al-‘Arabi, a high-ranking Syrian army official has confirmed to the news site that Chinese involvement in the Syrian conflict is here: “the Chinese will be arriving in the coming weeks.” This follows a week of speculation piqued by the apparent deployment of a Chinese cruiser to the Mediterranean that Russian Senator Igor Morozov has asserted is taking part in Russia’s Syrian operations.

If these reports are true, then there is a significant shift taking place in the Syria narrative, long dominated by the West, the Gulf states, the Israelis, the Turks and their puppet organizations in the country. We are now witnessing the rise of a power bloc that contains the second and third largest militaries on the planet as well as the active cooperation of the governments actually effected by the ISIS invasion. That brings with it a legitimacy that the US and GCC could only wish for in the conflict.

On CNN; "Problem with Russia in Syria. An Accidental Skirmish With The US LED ISIS Coalition"

All the media has already been mentioning how Russia is bombing their CIA "moderate" rebels of Al Qaeda. Of course they use the word 'rebel' instead of 'terrorist'. Which is really funny. Because wasn't it Al Qaeda who used to be called terrorist here? Weren't they the reason we went to Iraq and Afghanistan? Really weird.... I wonder if people are noticing that the U.S. now fully embraces and admits arming and supporting Al Qaeda, who were suppose to be our mortal enemies who did 9/11. Now it seems there is a slip and the U.S. is behind ISIS too.

The Mind of Mr. Putin

Perhaps it is time to climb down off our ideological high horse and start respecting the vital interests of other sovereign nations, even as we protect and defend our own.

If America’s elites continue to assert their right to intervene in the internal affairs of nations, to make them conform to a U.S. ideal of what is a good society and legitimate government, then we are headed for endless conflict. And, one day, this will inevitably result in war, as more and more nations resist America’s moral imperialism.

Nations have a right to be themselves, Putin is saying.

"They're Hopping Mad In The US And Saudi Arabia": Russian Strikes In Syria Spark Epic Western Media Propaganda Blitz

In any event, the important thing here is to cut through all of this and extract the bits that help to tell the story of what's actually taking place in Syria. As we detailed on Thursday, this is effectively a Mid-East coup by Russia and Iran wherein Tehran will replace Riyadh as the regional power broker and Moscow will supplant Washington as the superpower puppet master.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What concerns me is how far the US, Saudi, ( and, regrettably omitted from this article), the Israeli governments will go to prevent this from happening.

It is unfortunate that the peace of the world depends of the head-space of its most psychopathic leader; and right now, Israel's uber-hubristic Benyamin Netanyahu holds that dubious geopolitical distinction.

Tel Aviv is already conjuring imaginary Iranian troops at the Golan border as the potential "excuse" for an invasion of Syria.

Its newspapers have spoken, breathlessly, of the IDF having to move its northern borders "eastward", to, allegedly, protect the people there.

But looking at a map of the region, if they are not claiming land in the Mediterranean sea, we are looking at a potential invasion of Lebanon, as this is the only country bordering Israel on its east.

And, of course, the US government desperately needs a world war to mask an economy in ruin, and blame the war for the collapsed economy.

So, we have a convergence of events and agendas, which may well lead to a regional war, if not a world war.

And as we have said numerous times, please don't panic; prepare.

You know what you need to do (long storing food, potable water, medications for family and pets), and a plan for either fortifying your home, and/or creating an intelligently assembled bug-out kit.

But of one thing I can assure you; if you haven't already done this, the time is now to make this happen.

Preparation, and planning, never hurts, and if the excrement hits the ventilation shaft, chances are you will survive.

FLASHBACK: General Wesley Clark: Wars Were Planned - Seven Countries In Five Years

Lest we forget!

So I came back to see him a few weeks later, and by that time we were bombing in Afghanistan. I said, "Are we still going to war with Iraq?" And he said, "Oh, it's worse than that." He reached over on his desk. He picked up a piece of paper. And he said, "I just got this down from upstairs" -- meaning the Secretary of Defense's office -- "today." And he said, "This is a memo that describes how we're going to take out seven countries in five years, starting with Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and, finishing off, Iran." I said, "Is it classified?" He said, "Yes, sir." I said, "Well, don't show it to me." And I saw him a year or so ago, and I said, "You remember that?" He said, "Sir, I didn't show you that memo! I didn't show it to you!"

US Complains As Russia Bombs its Terrorists

Russia is Bombing Al Qaeda

This leads back to the most recent New York Times article. Russia is not arbitrarily bombing “moderates” backed by the US in Syria to stave off allegedly “legitimate” opposition to the government in Damascus – Russia is bombing terrorists who are either operating under the banner of Al Qaeda but are portrayed as otherwise by the US, or will inevitably end up turning their fighters and weapons over to Al Qaeda. Russia is bombing Al Qaeda.

Some might consider doubling down on a policy of backing terrorists that will inevitably be revealed to the world, and a policy that has thus far failed to topple the Syrian government which is now being bolstered by Russian, Iranian, and possibly Chinese forces, is a policy that is ultimately doomed.

Mid-East Coup: As Russia Pounds Militant Targets, Iran Readies Ground Invasions While Saudis Panic

Back in June, the commander of Iran’s Quds Force, Qasem Soleimaini, visited a town north of Latakia on the frontlines of Syria’s protracted civil war. Following that visit, he promised that Tehran and Damascus were set to unveil a new strategy that would “surprise the world.”

Just a little over a month later, Soleimani - in violation of a UN travel ban - visited Russia and held meetings with The Kremlin. The Pentagon now says those meetings were “very important” in accelerating the timetable for Russia’s involvement in Syria. The General allegedly made another visit to Moscow in September.

The timeline here is no coincidence. Iran has long provided covert and overt support to the Assad regime via financial transfers, logistical support from the Quds, and via the involvement of Hezbollah in the Assad government’s fight to regain control of the country.

Mohammad Javad Zarif described radical ideas and interfaith hostility as "the common challenges facing everyone in the region and beyond" that require a joint response. Is Israel Preparing For A Ground Invasion Of Syria?

In August it was reported that Israel is preparing for a possible ground invasion of Syria.

The Israelis began large division-scale training in the occupied Golan Heights in mid-August under the pretext ISIS may invade and also citing the presence of Hezbollah fighters in Syria.

Israel and Hezbollah fought a war in 2006 in Lebanon, northern Israel and the Golan Heights. Some analysts consider the 34-day war as the first Iran-Israel proxy conflict.

“In the scenarios envisioned by the IDF, heavily-armed terrorist cells would infiltrate the Israeli side of the Golan and attack Jewish and Druze villages there, necessitating a strong Israeli response in Syria,” Israel Today reported on August 17.

The announcement of invasion preparations coincide with the possibility Israel may move its borders east “to protect the Druze and other non-hostile populations that are today threatened by the Islamists,” the website reported.

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, folks, let me throw a little cold water on this over-heated codswallop of a scenario, and right the heck now.

First, let's look at the following statement:

"The announcement of invasion preparations coincide with the possibility Israel may move its borders east “to protect the Druze and other non-hostile populations that are today threatened by the Islamists,” the website reported.

So let's look at a map, shall we?!?

Other declaring the Mediterranean Sea as part of Israel, the only land mass to the east of Israel...is Lebanon. In this scenario, is Israel telegraphing that it intends to invade Lebanon as well?!?

And as to the statement that Iran might lob some long-range missiles into Israel; the Iranian leadership is many things, but stupid is not one of them.

Why in the name of heaven would they do such a thing as lob a long-range rocket from Tehran into Israel, when they know that the joint US/Israeli military response would leave Iran as a puddle of molten glass?!?

The short answer is, they won't.

Unfortunately, that will not stop Israel from creating some kind of "false flag" to hit the outskirts of Israel, to be blamed on an Iranian missile strike, and ... off we go.

Netanyahu warns he will not allow use of Syria as Iran base to threaten Israel

Israel will never allow Syria to become a base for Iran to launch attacks against the Jewish state, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said.

Israeli troops search for gaps in the fence along the border between Israel and Syria near the village of Majdal Shams in the Golan
Netanyahu made the statement on Sept. 29 in New York ahead of his address to the United Nations.

Earlier, Israeli Infrastructure, Energy, and Water Minister Yuval Steinitz told Army Radio that keeping Iranian forces inside Iran would be a top priority in Israel’s discussions at the UN with the United States and other world powers.

Iran is said to be coordinating its operations in Syria with Russia. Teheran terror proxy Hizbullah has been fighting alongside Syrian President Bashar Assad’s forces for much of the four-year civil war.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, in spite of Russia's attempt to get rid of Isis/Al Qaeda, and stabilize Syria, it appears that Israel will use the Iranian presence in Syria (the primary components of which are most likely no where near the Golan Heights) as the excuse to invade.

That means, because of military obligations, the US government will get sucked in on the Israeli side, which means a shooting war against Russia.

I am begging President Obama, NATO, the State Department, and the Pentagon, NOT to get suckered into a war against Russia in this manner.

Anyone even moderately conversant with US resources for pursuing a conventional war against Russia understands, painfully, that the necessary resources are just not there; they don't have the money, the manpower, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war with Russia.

And I know Russia (and China) spend far less on their weaponry than does the US government; however, unlike here in the US, the Russian and Chinese governments have a tacit agreement with their weapons manufacturers that when a weapon is deployed by military personnel in the field, it actually functions fully as advertised.

Checkmate

Putin's key talking points could not but be easily accessible to the Global South — his prime audience, much more than the industrialized West.

1) The export of color — or monochromatic — revolutions is doomed.

2) The alternative to the primacy of statehood is chaos. This implies that the Assad system in Syria may be immensely problematic, but it's the only game in town. The alternative is ISIS/ISIL/Daesh barbarism. There's no credible "moderate opposition" — as there was not in NATO-"liberated" Libya.

3) Only the UN — as flawed as it may be — is a guarantor of peace and security in our imperfect, realpolitik geopolitical environment.

SYRIA: “NOT A PROXY WAR. IT’S ONE STEP CLOSER”

This Wall Street Journal headline sums up the absurdity of the situation: “Russian Airstrike in Syria Targeted CIA-Backed Rebels, U.S. Officials Say.”

Political risk expert Ian Bremmer sums up the situation:

Russian forces will be striking Assad enemies, some of whom are directly supported by the US and its allies. That’s not a proxy war. It’s one step closer.

Her uncle, 21-year-old Talha Amouri, was outside when the explosion ripped through the house, knocking him off his feet. He dug through the wreckage for hour after frantic hour, pulling out members of his family. He found five of his nieces — ages 8, 7, 6, 5, and 3 — dead. But the youngest, 2-year-old Nariman, clung to life, her arms locked around her mother, who had also survived. Nariman was rushed to a hospital across the nearby border with Turkey, in the seaside city of Iskenderun, where she now lies helpless beneath a web of tubes and bandages.

The Warmonger Presidential Candidates

...the compromised presidential candidates will never gain the guts to set into motion a true America First foreign policy.

In order to fully understand the primal betrayal of genuine American interests, our society has to face the hard reality that the NeoCons and Zionist Israel-First fifth column that controls the bureaucracy of selective orthodox government is the enemy of our own people.

Standing with Israel is a primary reason for the demise of the American Republic.

Illustrating this point, the debate statement from Carly Fiorina, Crackpot Warmonger, exposes the utter absurdity of subordinating our true interests to a rogue regime designed to cause chaos as the meanings to achieve regional dominance.

“On Day One in the Oval Office, I will make two phone calls, the first to my good friend Bibi Netanyahu to reassure him we will stand with the state of Israel.”

Obama’s Syria

Ending Syria’s horrific civil war is possible, but the political will to do so remains elusive.

Syria, Iran issue first explicit warning to Israel if US attacks

A senior Syrian official on Monday issued a first direct warning that if attacked, his country would retaliate against Israel. Khalaf Muftah, a senior Baath Party official who used to serve as Syria’s assistant information minister, said in a radio interview that Damascus would consider Israel “behind the [Western] aggression and [it] will therefore come under fire.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Given that this report comes form the Times of Israel I would not accept this Iranian "threat" at face value. Netanyahu obviously intends to provoke an invasion of Syria, timed to Netanyahu's speech at the UN on Thursday, and is looking to blame Iran for it, to bolster efforts to kill the P5+1 deal and open a door to war with Iran.

Neocon Jeffrey Feltman Visits Libya Brandishing The Dahiyeh Doctrine and “The New Realities”

The “Dahiyeh Doctrine”

Libyan civilians have learned a thing or two from three decades of Lebanon’s experience with Israel’s five wars against that Levant country. Indeed NATO is using the same bombing, media, political and diplomatic strategy in Libya that Israel employed most recently in Lebanon during its 33-day July, 2006 war.

This includes bombing of the Libyan civilian infrastructure in order to cripple normal life here and hopefully crush the growing national Resistance among Libyans to NATO’s 15,300 sorties to date, while teaching the people an overdue lesson for supporting the central government in the context of predictable “birth pangs of the new Libya.”

Aww…Uncle Sammy wasn’t invited to the party? Now Obama and Kerry have been scrambling, trying to talk to Iran about Syria and Yemen. DAMASCUS–MOSCOW – TEHERAN: BELARUS TO SEND MORE FORCES TO SYRIA; HUGE ARMY BUILDUP TO TAKE BACK JISR AL-SHUGHOOR

If Russia wants complete security for its forces and airbases in Syria, it must secure Jisr Al-Shughoor. And so, Syria’s National Security Adviser, Gen. Ali Mamlook, flew to Moscow on June 29, 2015 and met with his counterparts in the Russian Defense Ministry and the Kremlin. In September, Gen. Qaasim Sulaymaani traveled to Moscow to further shore up an agreement that would envision the arrival of Russian forces and materiel to Syria in order to finish off ISIS, Alqaeda/Nusra and the U.S. conspiracy. Why is Jisr Al-Shughoor important? Look at the map and see how it sits directly in the center of Syria’s huge agricultural valley called the Waadi Al-Ghaab. Look at how it is situated on the road which rises to the west all the way up the mountains and bypasses a large number of villages only to finally give terrorists an unobstructed view across the serene coastal mountains with trajectories capable of striking Russian military assets.

US support for Israel stokes terrorism worldwide, Rouhani says

Problems plaguing the Middle East, from Cairo to Kabul and Aden to Aleppo, are ultimately the product of American policy and its support for an "inhumane" Israel, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani told the United Nations on Monday.

Praising the nuclear deal reached in July with world powers as a "new and constructive way to recreate the international order," Rouhani said Iran is determined not to forget the past. US On The Ropes: China To Join Russian Military In Syria While Iraq Strikes Intel Deal With Moscow, Tehran

Last Thursday, we asked if China was set to join Russia and Iran in support of the Assad regime in Syria.

Our interest was piqued when the pro-Assad Al-Masdar (citing an unnamed SAA “senior officer”), said Chinese “personnel and aerial assets” are set to arrive within weeks. To the uninitiated, this may seem to have come out of left field, so to speak. However, anyone who has followed the conflict and who knows a bit about the global balance of power is aware that Beijing has for some time expressed its support for Damascus, most notably by voting with Russia to veto a Security Council resolution that would have seen the conflict in Syria referred to the Hague.

Former IDF Chief: Discord in Israeli Society, Not Iran, Is Greatest Threat to Israel

Former IDF chief of staff Lt. Gen. (res.) Benny Gantz said on Friday that although a better deal could have been reached with Iran, the fact that its nuclear program will be delayed by 10-15 years "is a good thing."

Speaking in Washington at a memorial to former Haaretz journalist and military analyst Ze'ev Schiff, Gantz added that intelligence gathering on Iran's existing sites will only intensify as the deal is implemented.Gantz said Israel must maintain its military edge in the region, but added that there is no reason to worry as "Israel is strong and secure and knows how to defend itself."

According to the former army chief, Iran is not Israel's main problem, but a global problem first and foremost, then a regional one, "and only then an Israeli problem." The biggest, most important challenges facing Israel are the gaps and discord in Israeli society, he said.

Obama, Putin to meet at a defining moment

The Russian state agency TASS is not given to speculating on the Kremlin leader’s activities. It is a ground rule set by Joseph Stalin when the agency was created in 1925. Therefore, we must accept as ‘breaking news’ the TASS’ Washington dateline report quoting ‘an informed source’ to the effect that a meeting between Russian president Vladimir Putin and US resident Barack Obama will take place next week on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session.

Obama will do well to cut his way through the neocon shibboleth and comprehend that Russia has been largely reactive – be it in Ukraine, Syria or Afghanistan or on missile defence and the global strategic stability – whereas, the US has trampled on Russia’s vital and legitimate interests and core concerns like a rogue elephant. Amends need to be made. For far too long, Obama chose to tread the trodden path set by Bill Clinton and George W. Bush in the direction of ‘containment’ of Russia.

The Israeli media even claimed that the Russian intervention in Syria is in active collaboration with the so-called Quds Force of the IRGC. The Israeli disinformation aims to put pressure on the Barack Obama administration not to coordinate with Russia over Syria.

National Defense Commander: Iran to Annihilate ISIL in Syria Soon

The US will no longer have an excuse for a war on terror!

TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior commander of Syria's national defense forces welcomed Tehran and Moscow' military aid to his country, and ensured that the ISIL terrorist group will soon be completely crushed by Iran.

"Iran's mighty presence in Syria will uproot the ISIL," Sheikh Fayez Abdolrahman Sheikh Namess told FNA on Thursday.

He said the Syrian nation welcomes Iran and Russia's presence and any friendly states' military power on their soil to fight against the terrorists.

"Today the Syrian people trust Russia and Iran more than the US and the regimes ruling the Sheikhdoms in the Persian Gulf region in the war on terrorism," Namess said.

Syrian officials have welcomed Iran and Russia's military assistance in campaign against terrorism.

AIPAC’s Democrat Problems Go Beyond Obama

Last week, journalists Josh Rogin and Eli Lake published a piece at Bloomberg Businessweek explaining how the influential pro-Israel lobby AIPAC came to be defeated in the biggest fight in a generation. The story holds important truths. It’s essentially about the tough spot AIPAC was put in by the Obama administration’s hardball tactics to protect the achievement of the nuclear deal with Iran, hardly a surprise given the stakes at hand.

Iran's Parchin nuclear myth begins to unravel

The Parchin stories have continued as if the impossibility of “sanitising” a site that had held nuclear material had not been revealed.

For well over three years, heavy doses of propaganda have created a myth about a purported steel cylinder for testing explosives located on a site at Iran’s Parchin military testing reservation. According to that storyline, Iran was refusing to allow the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to inspect the site while it sought to hide its past nuclear weapons-related work.

Born In The USA: How America Created Iran's Nuclear Program

"The Iranian nuclear program has deep roots. In fact, it is four years older than President Obama," says Ali Vaez, the International Crisis Group's senior analyst for Iran. Vaez grew up in Iran, which means the nuclear program is a personal story for him.

"It started in 1957," he says, "and ironically, it is a creation of the United States. The U.S. provided Iran with its first research reactor — a nuclear reactor, a 5-megawatt nuclear reactor that is still functioning and still operational in Tehran."

The U.S. built that nuclear reactor in 1967 on the campus of Tehran University. It also provided Iran with fuel for that reactor — weapons-grade enriched uranium.

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US provided nuclear technology to Iran while it was under the control of the US puppet ruler the Shah. The nuclear industry even bragged about the success of Iran's nuclear technology!

But the 1979 Iranian revolution kicked out the US puppet ruler and returned Iran to the Iranian people. And the US does not want nations that refuse US puppet rule to have modern technology.

The CSTO arrives in Iraq and Syria

by Thierry Meyssan

The intervention of the CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organisation) against terrorism in Iraq and Syria may be the beginning of a world order based on the cooperation and defence of civilian populations, or, on the contrary, a period of East-West confrontation in which the West openly supports terrorism. Contrary to popular belief, this military deployment is aimed less at defending Iraq and the Syrian Arab Republic than the members of the CSTO themselves. It is therefore not negotiable. The debates in the UNO General Assembly and Security Council on the 30th September will reveal the response of Washinton and its allies. In any case, nothing will ever be the same.

Iran warns Israel on Syria crisis exploitation

"The Zionist regime's links with terrorists [fighting in Syria] through Golan Heights have been laid bare to everyone, and this issue poses a security threat not only to the [Middle East] region, but to the [entire] world," Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Iran's deputy foreign minister for Arab and African affairs, said in Moscow on Tuesday..

“In addition to the Zionist regime, we warn all the regime’s allies that they should prevent such provocations and we are in agreement with our partners in Russia [on the point] that these actions will further complicate the situation,” he added.

Why the huge difference between US and the Brits?

Last summer, Israel launched Operation Protective Edge, a bloody war against Gaza that killed about 2,300 Palestinians, the vast majority of whom were civilians, including over 500 children. The attack also devastated Gaza’s infrastructure, and left about 500,000 people displaced or homeless. These war crimes and others, like Israel’s recent attack on the Freedom Flotilla, which sought to bring medical aid and solar panels to the Port of Gaza, have given rise to increased calls for Israel to be tried before the International Criminal Court.

UK Labour Party revolution

The election of veteran socialist Jeremy Corbyn to lead the Labour Party in the UK is a revolution by all means. In a party grassroots election, the 66-year-old outsider defeated a line-up of traditional Labour candidates.

Corbyn’s victory was a rejection of Tony Blair’s wing as much as it was a swing to the left. Blair, who came back from hibernation to campaign against Corbyn, was rebuffed by the rank and file of the Labour Party. Party membership didn’t forgive Blair’s disgraceful servitude role to George Bush and his Israeli fabricated “dossier” to sell the invasion of Iraq.

Iran Key to Unlocking US Hypocrisy on Global Terrorism

Iran’s three decades of battling Western state-sponsored terrorism within its borders...

The Iranian authorities claim to have compiled records of 17,000 victims of terrorism committed by such groups as MEK and Jundallah since the 1979 revolution. Details were presented at a recent international conference held in Tehran.

As well as ordinary citizens, such as Masoumeh’s mother mentioned above, the targets of assassination have included high-profile public figures: Iranian members of parliament, attorneys, government ministers, army generals and newspaper editors. In one of the most audacious attacks, in 1981, Iran’s prime minister Mohammad Javad Bahonar and the country’s president Modhammad Ali Rajai were both killed in a bomb blast carried out on the premier’s residence in the capital, Tehran.

All Republican Presidential Candidates Stand For War

There is not a peaceful person among the Republican candidates. Even the female is heartless.

Here is Carla Fiorina at the debate describing the way she will lead us to Armageddon. She won’t talk to Putin, but she will send him “the message” via military threats:

“Having met Vladimir Putin, I wouldn’t talk to him at all. We’ve talked way too much to him. What I would do, immediately, is begin rebuilding the Sixth Fleet, I would begin rebuilding the missile defense program in Poland, I would conduct regular, aggressive military exercises in the Baltic states. I’d probably send a few thousand more troops into Germany. Vladimir Putin would get the message. . . . Russia is a bad actor, but Vladimir Putin is someone we should not talk to, because the only way he will stop is to sense strength and resolve on the other side, and we have all of that within our control. We could rebuild the Sixth Fleet. I will. We haven’t. We could rebuild the missile defense program. We haven’t. I will.”

The IAEA Debate - Call for Fairness (20.9.2015)

IAEA Chief Yukiya Amano is in Tehran, talking to officials about the nuclear agreement, the JCPOA signed in the summer and its implementation. Iran’s president is telling the IAEA to be fair in its assessment about the Islamic Republic and its nuclear program.

Can the IAEA be fair and can Iran trust this organization when it is this same entity that allegedly gave secret information about Iran’s nuclear program to Israelis? And many believe that this led to the assassinations of several of Iran’s top scientists. So how can the IAEA be trusted one more time?

Webmaster addition: Keep in mind that the IAEA just voted DOWN a proposal to inspect Israel's nuclear weapons!

The Republican Candidates Just Can’t Quit Neoconservatism

With the exception of Rand Paul, the GOP field remained in thrall to a bankrupt neoconservative ideology.

If the candidates’ positions on foreign policy were anything to go by, the neocon outlook—which is in essence a frightened, xenophobic, reflexive militarism—continues to have a stranglehold on a Grand Old Party, which cannot seem to shake some Very Bad Ideas.

Peace in Syria? It’s Putin’s fault: Escobar

snip: After over four and a half years and immeasurable tragedy, the real face of this “Assad must go” regime change operation is the refugee crisis. Over 2 million out of 4 million Syrians fled to Turkey; Ankara recently released them en masse from holding camps on their way to the Balkans and the Teutonic Promised Land.

So Ankara is right at the center of the largest refugee crisis in Europe in 70 years. And so is Ankara-supporting Washington; ISIS/ISIL/Daesh captured all the weapons delivered with CIA help to that pathetic “Free Syrian Army” – as well as tanks and Humvees from the disjointed US-trained Iraqi Army. Any possible solution for relieving the refugee crisis while fighting ISIS/ISIL/Daesh must include cutting off Ankara’s myriad direct and indirect forms of “support” for the fake “Caliphate.”

Migrants, Refugees, Clandestines and… Jihadis

What else is new? The Empire of Chaos specializes in breaking, not fixing.

The plight of the refugees could become the perfect excuse to precipitate a new R2P (responsibility to protect) war; Libya remixed, with fighting ISIL barely disguising the real agenda: regime change in Damascus.

So Europe has suddenly, miraculously “discovered” that the civil war/proxy war raging in Syria since early 2011 has hemorrhaged into an extremely serious refugee crisis.

European Sturm und Drang on what to do about the refugee drama is unprecedented in modern times. Bitterness permeates the fault lines separating fear and intolerance from generosity and solidarity.

Among quite a few progressive circles, there are widespread fears that the current Western media campaign centered on the plight of refugees may be a catalyst to prepare European-wide public opinion for an all-out war in Syria before the end of 2015.

A Refugee Crisis Made in America – Philip Giraldi

Will the U.S. accept responsibility for the humanitarian consequences of Washington-manufactured wars?

It is perhaps past time for Washington to begin to become accountable for what it does.

The world media is following the refugee crisis by focusing primarily on the inability of unprepared local governments to deal with the numbers of migrants, asking why someone somewhere can’t just “do something.” This means that somehow, as a result, the vast human tragedy has been reduced to a statistic and, inevitably, a political football.

Israel main obstacle to nuke-free Middle East: Iran

Israel is widely believed to be the sole possessor of a nuclear arsenal in the Middle East and has so far blatantly violated the international rules regarding nuclear non-proliferation. The Tel Aviv regime has never allowed any inspections of its nuclear facilities.

This is while a resolution calling for the monitoring of Israel’s nuclear activities and facilities failed to secure enough votes at the IAEA’s general assembly on Thursday.

Sixty-one countries, including the United States and the entire member states of the European Union, voted against the resolution, while 43 countries, including Iran, Russia and Turkey, voted in favor, and 33 states, including Brazil and India, abstained.

Refugees as Weapon – and Germany shifting Alliances?

Germany alongside Russia might indeed defend and help preserve the Assad government, together with Iran the two stabilizing factors in the Middle East.

As a parallel or backup plan, the unholy alliance between Washington, NATO and Turkey agreed to open Turkey’s flood gates for refugees, actually promoting the exodus to gain free reign in the safe heavens and to build up a mass of refugees – most of whom want to flee to Germany – which in the right moment could be let go and cause the right pressure or destabilization effects in Europe. Well, this is just happening.

Putin’s Line in the Sand: No Regime Change in Syria

By allowing US F-16s to patrol the skies over Syria, Washington will impose a de facto no-fly zone over the country severely limiting Assad’s ability to battle the US-backed militias that have seized large swaths of the countryside and are now descending on Damascus.

The Syrian war can be divided into two parts: The pre-Incirlik period and the post-Incirlik period. The pre-Incirlik period is roughly the four year stretch during which US-backed Islamic militias and al Qaida-linked groups fought the Syrian army with the intention of removing President Bashar al Assad from power. This first phase of the war ended in a draw.

US Senate Democrats block amendment linking Iran agreement to Israel

Democratic lawmakers in the US Senate have blocked a Republican attempt to sabotage the Iran nuclear agreement by linking it to Israel.

On Thursday, 45 senators voted against an amendment from Majority Leader Mitch McConnell that would have prevented President Barack Obama from lifting sanctions on Iran until the Islamic Republic recognizes the Israeli regime.

McConnell’s proposal, Iran would have to publicly recognize Israel’s right to exist, a demand which was made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Sixty votes were needed to approve the measure in the 100-member chamber.

Netanyahu has said that a final nuclear agreement with Iran must include a "clear and unambiguous Iranian recognition of Israel's right to exist."

Which nation spends more on its military? Iran or Israel?

Your average American who followed the debate over the Iran deal would have gotten the impression that Tehran is a military giant, with a Wehrmacht that even without nuclear weapons is capable of unleashing a blitzkrieg across the entire Middle East.

Austria joins growing voices that say Assad must be part of Syrian solution

The West should involve Syria's President Bashar al-Assad and his allies Iran and Russia in order to combat Islamic State, Austria's foreign minister said on Tuesday, in some of the most conciliatory comments towards Assad by a Western official. Most Western countries insist Syria's president must leave power if peace is to be restored, while Iran and Russia say he is part of the solution. That disagreement has derailed efforts to end the four-year civil war. "We need a pragmatic common approach in this respect including the involvement of Assad in the fight against Islamic State terror," Sebastian Kurz told reporters during a state visit to Tehran.

Teheran – The Harder They Come

Why should I care whether Iran has nukes? It most likely doesn’t, but even if it does, it would be fine with me. Iran never attacked anyone, never overthrew any foreign government, and never experimented on human beings. It did not commit genocide and never dreamed about conquering the world.

In brief – it is doing exactly the opposite of what the West has been doing for centuries.

I departed from Teheran only few days ago. What I remember; what remained in my mind is kindness and warmth of Iranian people, as well as glimpses of their enormous culture.

Do I want this culture to disappear, to be destroyed, or replaced by aggressive Western consumerism, arrogance and lack of compassion? I certainly don’t! I want it to survive, I want it to to thrive, as I want the great Chinese, Arab, Russian and Latin American cultures to survive and thrive.

A Fly in the Ointment of Colbert’s Opening Show

We will be watching Stephen Colbert to see where his comedy takes him next.

While awaiting the final congressional vote that will confirm that President Obama has defeated the Zionist juggernaut which spent millions to block the Iran Nuclear deal, we must pause to consider a major moment in entertainment television.

The entertainment news has to do with the CBS network arrival of Stephen Colbert, who last week succeeded David Letterman as host of The Late Show (11:30 EST).

Even there, alas, the Zionist juggernaut lurks. You will have to look closely to see it, but there was a fly in the ointment of the otherwise successful launch of the next chapter of Colbert’s career.

Supporters of the BDS movement were quick to identify the fly.

RECKLESS HYPOCRISY – The Folly of Self-Righteous Indignation

Iran has not been and is not intending to build a nuclear arsenal; but who can admit that fact – Obama, Clinton, Kerry?

Could we expect President Obama to confess that Iran’s nuclear ambitions to develop a bomb has been a politically motivated fictional narrative serving other purposes? Could he advocate the idea that replacing Israel with Iran would be the most “advantageous” step to pursue America’s true strategic interests in the Middle East? No, not in this lifetime!

Therefore, the hardline, even sounding like a born again-neoconservative, rhetoric by Hillary Clinton that the United States under her presidency would take an extremely hawkish position against any Iranian intransigence is as genuine a threat as threatening to nuke Iran if the Supreme Leader jumps over the moon!! Iran has not been and is not intending to build a nuclear arsenal; but who can admit that fact – Obama, Clinton, Kerry?
