‘No military value’ in US Syria targets

The US airstrikes in Syria target militants with “no military value” hitting the infrastructures, says Dr. Alan Sabrosky, a ten-year US Marine Corps veteran and a 1986 graduate of the US Army War College.

Washington intends to inflict “such damage to the economic and industrial infrastructure within Syria that any Syrian government after the fighting will be so weakened that it will be vulnerable to further attacks.”

"ISIL crisis" plays right into Zionists hands

Rahm Emanuel, President Obama's first Chief of Staff – who also served as Obama's Israeli Mossad handler – famously said: "You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before."

Individuals, groups, whole industries, even nations sometimes take advantage of crises and catastrophes. Big bankers, for example, love war because it forces governments to borrow vast sums of money at compound interest. Arms manufacturers also make huge profits. And the big government always gets bigger during wartime as it confiscates people's wealth and scales back their rights.

Poll: 70% of troops say no more boots on the ground in Iraq

As the tide of war rises again in the Middle East, the military’s rank and file are mostly opposed to expanding the new mission in Iraq and Syria to include sending a large number of U.S. ground troops into combat, according to a Military Times survey of active-duty members.

G-77, China condemn coercive sanctions against Iran

In a resolution issued on the sidelines of the 69th annual session of the UN General Assembly in New York on Friday, foreign ministers of the Group of 77 plus China for the first time explicitly rejected as unacceptable the imposition of unilateral economic sanctions against Iran.

Such sanctions would have adverse consequences on the development of the Iranian nation, the resolution said, calling for the immediate removal of the bans.

The illegal US-engineered sanctions on Iran have been imposed based on the accusation that Tehran is pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program.

US Expands Syria Strikes: Not Just a War Against ISIS

US airstrikes seem to be expanding in scope today in Syria, with four different provinces of the country hit in attacks, including areas where ISIS is virtually non-existent.

President Obama has been insisting it is an oversimplification to say this war is America versus ISIS. Indeed, that’s the case, but while the president is seeking to downplay the scope of the conflict, the signs are that he’s at war with actually a much broader swath of the Syrian rebellion.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is obvious to even a casual observer of the current geopolitical scene that these bombings of Syria are engineered to generate regime change in Damascus.

The questions which need to be asked are, will Al-Assad attempt invoke the mutual defense pact Syria has with Iran, to assist him against the US, and if that happens, what will Russia do to prevent any attacks against Iran, and stop the US from bombing Syria?

Israel PM warns Iran greater threat than IS jihadists

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Monday at the United Nations that a nuclear-capable Iran would pose the gravest threat to the world, far outstripping the jihadist terror from Iraq and Syria.

"Make no mistake, ISIS must be defeated," Netanyahu told the UN General Assembly, referring to the Islamic State group.

"But to defeat ISIS and leave Iran as a threshold nuclear state power is to win the battle and lose the war."

Netanyahu spoke a week after US President Barack Obama took to the UN podium to appeal for international support for the US-led coalition firing air strikes to defeat the IS jihadists.

The prime minister took a swipe at Iran's "smooth-talking" President Hassan Rouhani, accusing him of seeking a deal on Tehran's nuclear program without scrapping any bomb-making capacity.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And so, Israel's nuclear capabilities are absolutely no threat to the world, Prime Minister Netanyahu!?

And IF the US government had any male attributes whatsoever, it would follow the letter of its own law, because under the Symington Amendment, the US is forbidden to give either any any money or military aid to a country which has either a nuclear weapons program or nuclear energy program, but refuses to become a signatory to the NNPT, and refuses to allow its nuclear sites to be inspected.

Israel is such a country.

The US government breaks its own laws with impunity.

So why should civilians believe, for a second, that they need to obey any laws Congress passes?!?

The stench of these double standards stinks to high heaven.

US-led coalition against ISIL: Front for regime change

Listening to American and British leaders this week one would think that Barack Obama and David Cameron are knights in shining armor on an epic crusade to defeat global evil.

The campaign against IS is a front for the criminal agenda of regime change in Syria and the region. This real, criminal agenda should be exposed and condemned at every opportunity. To consort with this mob is to corrupt international law and morality.

Unbelievably, too many states seem to be going along with this ridiculous charade, as can be gleaned from the way Obama and Cameron’s posturing was indulged this week at the United Nations General Assembly.

Our final conclusion is this: Obama and Cameron are using simplistic moralizing rhetoric about “defeating evil” in order to: 1) conceal their own criminal legacy; 2) pressure the rest of the world into endorsing their presumed but ill-deserved authority; and 3) promote their criminal agenda of regime change under a moral cover.

Netanyahu to Push Iran as Bigger Threat Than Islamic State at UN

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will urge world leaders to keep up the pressure on Iran over its nuclear program even as they confront the threat of Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria.

Netanyahu, addressing the United Nations General Assembly today, will expand on his Sept. 22 remarks mocking “esteemed commentators in the West” who say “the major powers need to go easy on Iran’s nuclear program so that Iran will fight” Islamic State, according to aides familiar with his speech. They asked not to be identified because it hasn’t been delivered.

Iran foils BBC operation to steal Iranian documents

Iran’s Intelligence Ministry says it has thwarted attempts by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) to steal Iran's cultural, historical and art documents.

In line with efforts made to make up for its failures, the Western media network has used its agents inside the country to pilfer historical documents from the country’s official archives, the ministry said on Sunday.

It added that the move, which was against media regulations and international law, has been monitored and nipped in the bud as a result of appropriate measures taken by the Iranian intelligence forces.

The AngloZionist Empire is at War with Russia

Listening to Poroshenko a few days ago and then to Obama at the UNGA can leave no doubt whatsoever about the fact that the AngloZionist Empire is at war with Russia. Yet many believe that the Russian response to this reality is inadequate.Likewise, there is a steady stream of accusations made against Putin about Russia’s policy towards the crisis in the Ukraine. What I propose to do here is to offer a few basic reminders about Putin, his obligations and his options. First and foremost, Putin was never elected to be the world’s policeman or savior, he was only elected to be president of Russia. Seems obvious, but yet many seem to assume that somehow Putin is morally obliged to do something to protect Syria, Novorussia or any other part of our harassed world. This is not so. Yes, Russia is the de facto leader of the BRICS and SCO countries, and Russia accepts that fact, but Putin has the moral and legal obligation to care for his own people first.

The March to War: Fighting ISIL is a Smokescreen for US Mobilization against Syria, Iran

The ISIL or IS threat is a smokescreen. The strength of the ISIL has deliberately been inflated to get public support for the Pentagon and to justify the illegal bombing of Syria. It has also been used to justify the mobilization of what is looking more and more like a large-scale US-led military buildup in the Middle East. The firepower and military assets being committed go beyond what is needed for merely fighting the ISIL death squads.

ISIS and the USA: Expansion and Resistance by Decapitation

If the brutal decapitation and dismemberment of innocent civilians is a capital crime that should be punished, as I believe it is, then both ISIS and the Obama regime with his allied leaders should face a people’s war crimes tribunal in the countries where the crimes occurred.

In order to overcome massive US and world public opposition to new wars in the Middle East, Obama relied on the horrific internet broadcasts of ISIS slaughtering two American hostages, the journalists James Foley and Steve Sotloff, by decapitation. These brutal murders were Obama’s main propaganda tool to set a new Middle East war agenda – his own casus belli bonanza! This explains the US Administration’s threats of criminal prosecution against the families of Foley and Stoloff when they sought to ransom their captive sons from ISIS.

America's Coalition of the Clueless

Down the road, we will discover that the only coalition able and willing to fight extremism does indeed come from inside the region, but importantly, from within the conflict zone itself: Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Iran. For starters, they are utterly vested in the outcome of their efforts – and would lead with political solutions alongside military ones. Those elusive boots-on-the-ground that everyone is seeking? They live it. Pit that group against Obama’s Coalition-of-the-Clueless any day and you know which side would win handily.

EU turns to Iran as alternative to Russian gas

The European Union is quietly increasing the urgency of a plan to import natural gas from Iran, as relations with Tehran thaw, while those with top gas supplier Russia grow colder.

Coalition of the Clueless in Syria

Takes a look at the 'Coalition of the Clueless' and tries to explain why Syria, Iran and Russia are being so low-key in their reaction to US airstrikes on Syrian territory. In a nutshell, this trio can afford to be opportunistic because they see this Coalition going nowhere fast.

The airwaves are still heaving with spin two days after US airstrikes against Syria.

Undoubtedly the attacks were timed to occur on the eve of the annual gathering of world leaders at the United Nations, so ‘Coalition’ partners could cluster behind the decision to bomb a sovereign state, uninvited.

The irony, of course, is that they are doing so at the UN – the global political body that pledges to uphold international law, peace and stability, and the sanctity of the nation-state unit.

The goal this week will be to keep the ‘momentum’ on a ‘narrative’ until it sinks in.

Iran’s Rouhani blames ‘certain intelligence agencies’ for rise of global extremism

The rise of violent extremism around the world is the fault of “certain states” and “intelligence agencies” that have helped to create it and are failing to withstand it, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said in an address to the UN General Assembly.

Speaking at the 69th session of the UN General Assembly on Thursday, Rouhani stressed that extremism is not a regional but a global issue, and called on states worldwide to unite against the extremists.

“Certain states have helped to create it, and are now failing to withstand it. Currently our peoples are paying the price," he said. "Certain intelligence agencies have put blades in the hand of the madmen, who now spare no one.”

Neocons Grow Frantic over Iran Progress

Movement toward a more normal U.S.-Iranian relationship would be a step toward making possible the practice of U.S. regional diplomacy without having one hand tied behind our back — tied by ourselves because we have subordinated so much else to the nuclear obsession.

The negotiations between Iran and the consortium known as the P5+1 (the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council plus Germany) about the future of Iran’s nuclear program are inching back into the news after being largely obscured by other diplomatic tasks and events over the past couple of months.

The two sides will be fully engaged in the talks during the remainder of this month, in anticipation of a late-November target date for completing a deal. We are hearing again technical and numerical details about centrifuges and capacity for enriching uranium that represent much of what evidently needs to be resolved for a final agreement.

Pentagon War Plans in 2001: Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, & Iran

Here is the transcript of Gen. Clark’s account.
CLARK: About 10 days after 9/11, I went to the Pentagon, and I saw [Defense] Secretary [Donald] Rumsfeld and Deputy Secretary [Paul] Wolfowitz. I went downstairs to say hello to some of the people on the joint staff that used to work for me.

One of the generals called me in and said, “Sir, you gotta come in and talk to me.” I said, “Sir, you’re too busy.” And he said, “No, no! We’ve made the decision — we’re going to war with Iraq!” This is on or about the 28th of September. I said, “We’re going to war with Iraq? Why!?” He said, “I don’t know!” He said, “I guess they don’t know what else to do.” So I said, “Did they find some information connecting Saddam to al Qaeda?” He said, “No, no, there’s nothing new that way. They just made the decision to go to war with Iraq.” He said, “I guess its like we don’t know what to do about terrorists, but we’ve got a good military and we can take down governments.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK , folks; if it wasn't clear to you that these invasions are part of a long-form plan before reading what General Clark had to say, I would like to hope that you do now.

There was a marvelous line in the second Sherlock Homes film, where the Moriarty character says that he wants to control the market on bullets and bandages for the coming war.

And this is no different than the military industrial corporations which are collectively SALIVATING over the next major military confrontation the US will be having, because the profitability of such a war for them will be extraordinarily high.

Wars are NEVER about our safety, security, and alleged "freedoms"; it is all about private corporate profit, and this is why our young men and women in uniform are going to die and get maimed for life in the horrendous military confrontation I see coming, which may well engulf the entire world.

West beats retreat in Ukraine

Quite possibly, the ice will be broken regarding Syria today at the meeting between Sergey Lavrov and John Kerry in New York. The New Cold war, which started with a bang, might be ending with a whimper.

Considering the huge lift that the White House gave last week to the visit by the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko — ‘rare honor’ of addressing a joint session of the US Congress, et al — one would have thought the Barack Obama administration was getting into a heightened mood of belligerence vis-a-vis Russia. But a close reading of President Obama’s remarks after the bilateral meeting with Poroshenko last Thursday in Washington creates doubts in the mind.

Operation Tomahawk The Caliph

The Tomahawks are finally flying again – propelled by newspeak. 42 Tomahawks fired from a Sixth Fleet destroyer parked in Mare Nostrum, plus F-22s raising hell and Hellfires spouted by drones, that’s a neat mini-Shock and Awe to honor Caliph Ibrahim, aka Abu Bakr al -Baghdadi, self-declared leader of Islamic State.

What a mess. Al-Qaeda in Iraq is the embryo of ISIS, which turned into IS. Jabhat al-Nusra is the al-Qaeda franchise in Syria, approved by CEO Ayman al-Zawahiri. Both despise each other, and yet Khorasan holds the merit of bundling Caliph’s goons and al-Qaeda goons together. Additionally, for Washington Jabhat al-Nusra tend to qualify as “moderate” jihadis – almost like “our bastards”. Too messy?

No problem; when in doubt, bomb everybody.

Concealed By U.S. Airstrikes Israel Opens Nusra Path To Lebanon

Under the protection of the U.S. attack on IS and other targets Israel now practically established a no-fly-zone next to the Golan which will allow Jabhat al-Nusra to safely use the corridor and to attack Hizbullah in Qalamoun and in south Lebanon. It also opens space for new attacks on Damascus.

The U.S. attack on the IS in Syria will, as the NYT headlines express, have as little effect as such attacks have in Iraq. Without coordinating air attacks with a capable, available ground force like the Syrian army such strikes on IS will make no conceivable difference. I have yet to see any report that the U.S. planes have hit some of the major weapons or ammunition depots the IS captured from the Iraqi army. There are some 50 main battle tanks and lots of heavy artillery pieces in the hands of IS. What is done to disable those?

Peter King on ISIS: Be Ready for Attacks on US Soil

Intensifying U.S. airstrikes against the Islamic State (ISIS) could provoke members of the terror group already on U.S. soil to stage attacks here, Rep. Peter King tells Newsmax TV.

"First of all, these people would've attacked us anyway, but they may feel an urgency to do it now to show that ISIS can fight back, that ISIS is not going to take this," King, a New York Republican, said Tuesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show."

"We always have to be alert to them, [but] we have to be even more so now because they want to show . . . the Muslim world they're not going to sit back and take [it], they're going to fight back."

King, a member of the House Homeland Security Committee and chairman of the House Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, said he approves of intensified U.S. airstrikes against jihadists in the Middle East, although he wishes it had happened sooner.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to Congressional Representative Peter King: if in fact ISIS (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) is able to attack the mainland, it means that every bit of surveillance, crotch groping at the airport, and spying by this government, has led to absolutely no actionable intelligence to prevent this from happening.

Should that happen, every security agency in the USA, the CIA, the DHS, FBI, and NSA, and DIA, have all failed, collectively and spectacularly.

ISIS: Does President Obama Understand What He’s Getting Us Into?

Given the US’s wretched track record in the Middle East, including support for Israel’s recent massacre of innocents in Gaza, why would anyone here or abroad imagine yet another American military intervention would succeed when previous invasions, raids, bombing campaigns, occupations and economic sanctions have utterly failed?

The coming battle with Islamic State insurgents showcases American political immaturity, is emotionally driven and lacks a coherent political and military strategy. It is also unnecessary.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would suggest that Obama knows precisely what he is doing, but doesn't care about the consequences, in terms of loss of American life.

His faux populism aside, he has always, is, and will always be, the supreme tool of the corporations which vetted him, and put him into power twice.

And those corporations see war as a massive means for private profit. particularly those in the military industrial complex.

There is a wonderful line in the second Sherlock Homes movie where the Moriarty character states that (and this is a very loose re imagining) that when the war comes, he wants to be the person who controls both the bullets and the bandages.

And of course, banks love wars, because they have absolutely no scruples about to which countries they lend money, because it will all be paid back at interest (actually, paid back by the citizens of those countries waging war!).

Tim Kaine: Congress Has Opened The Door To The 'Cheney Pre-emptive War Doctine'

As bombs dropped over Syria Monday evening, marking the beginning of a U.S.-led effort to eradicate the Islamic State in that country, most members of Congress were back at home.

The legislative branch adjourned its business at the end of last week to tend to elections. In doing so, it left unresolved the issue of authorizing the war that President Barack Obama would start days later. Congressional inaction didn't upend the White House's plans; the administration had already claimed it had legal authority to launch such strikes in Syria.

But by leaving town before the president started operations, lawmakers may have done serious harm to their own institution, Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) argued in an interview with The Huffington Post. Not only had they diminished the standing of Congress with respect to the executive branch, they also may have given unintended consent to a Dick Cheney-like vision of presidential war powers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to this Congress; congrats, folks, for starting World War III for real, by not preventing this President from bombing Syria. You MUST feel very proud of yourselves, don't you?!?

I am curious; just WHEN, before you went on your re-election vaycay, did you know that Obama was just going to haul off and do this, particularly Representative Peter King and the House Armed Services Committee?!?

And IF you believed for one moment that your going on your little re-election blitz was going to give you plausible deniability on just what was coming down, after you rabbited out of DC on Friday,I have two words for you on that, and they are, HELL, NO!!!!!

Let me be clear; the reinvasion of the Middle East has to do with controlling to whom the oil is sold, and in what nation's currency, which is they primary concern here. It has nothing to do with our "freedoms" (those which are left after the passage of the Patriot Act, the Homeland Security Act, and the NDAA)

The hope, in the bowels of DC, is to install some US-Centric government in Syria, and manage the wreckage which is the Iraqi government and military. There is also a great deal of hope that Syria will invoke its mutual defense pact with Iran, which will give the Israel-firsters in DC the "justification" for invading Iran.

But there are two aspects of combat here which never seems to be discussed, and it is the two five hundred pound gorillas sitting on the Steinway; I am referring to Russia and China.

I would like to politely remind you that this country could not expect to win in a conventional war against either country, because we do not have the troop strength, the money, or the manufacturing to make that happen.

The weapons the US government has purchased are very costly, but that does not make them better than those produced by Russian or Chinese arms makers. In fact, Russian warheads are maneuverable, which means that US military has no real defense against them.

By not stopping Obama from taking this road, you have completely abandoned your responsibilities to your alleged constitutents, as the Constitution clearly states that only Congress can declare war.

But constituents have become irrelevant and expendable, courtesy of all the contributions you so gratefully accept from the large corporations which fund your elections, particularly those from the military industrial-defense complex, right?!?

But I will share with you a scenario which is very likely to happen, should this country go to full-on war with Russia and China, and perhaps make your voters relevant again.

Your constituents' kids, who volunteered for the miltitary because there were no other viable job options, are going to start coming home in cheap metal coffins by the thousands, or so mangled and maimed that they will never be the same again.

Because you allowed this war to happen, the anti-incumbency fervor is going to grow to fever pitch, and come November, every single incumbent up for re-election, for refusing to stop this madness, will be voted out of office (if we have elections in November).

To all those who signed of on this, you are wretched cowards of the highest magnitude, because for you, having other people's kids killed or maimed in the pursuit of private profit is perfectly acceptable; it is as though you have had your conscience surgically removed before taking your alleged Oath of Office, making you illegitimate representatives of constituents truly on the edge of absolute fury at your lousy decision making.

Donor blackmail Silences Criticism of Israel

Donor blackmail is the last front line for the Zionists as they continue to suffer defeats in the battle for public opinion.

Due to Israel’s brutal racism and repeated attacks on Palestinian civilians, it is losing popular support internationally. As this happens, the Zionists appear to be intensifying pressure on societal and political elites, particularly in the U.S. and other Western states, to maintain policies that support and protect Israel’s criminal behavior.

If you cannot win by debate, how do you combat the growing popular suspicion of Israeli and Zionist actions? You do it by pressuring the donor-dependent elite leadership of institutions, such as universities and colleges, to suppress and punish those who criticize Israel.

Their vehicle for achieving this goal has always been financial gifts and donations to elite individuals and institutions.

Obama ‘ready for Syria ground war’ as Kurds flee

The United States will have to resort to sending “some troops on the ground” in Syria should President Barack Obama aim to destroy the Islamic State or Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group, a senior U.S. Congressman told this week’s Sunday Times.

The west is facing a “long, hard war” against ISIS, Republican Peter King said, adding that Obama was reviewing his refusal to send ground troops after military advisers said they would be needed.

These remarks come after 70,000 Syrian Kurds poured into Turkey since Friday fleeing an offensive by ISIS militants in northeastern Syria, the U.N.'s refugee agency said Sunday.

By ruling out sending troops to Syria, King said Obama is sounding an “uncertain trumpet.”

Following General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, address to Congress in which he said that ground intervention may be necessary; King said the “military message is getting through” to Obama.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to Representative King: sir, military intervention here in the Middle East is the LAST approach the US should be taking at this time.

Americans understand that this is all about Middle Eastern oil, and in what national currency it will - or will not - be sold.

I would like to politely remind you that the US government does not have the money, the manufacturing, or the troop strength, to insure a positive outcome to such a military action. And if you don't believe me, take a good hard look at the debacles which have happened in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Yemen.

And any military attack against the sovereign nation of Syria will be considered by the rest of the world a blatant act of war upon it.

We understand, very clearly, that what the US and Israel hopes will happen here will be for Syria and Iran to invoke their joint mutual defense act, as the "reason" for attacking Iran, and creating regime change there.

But there is one piece of the equation you are deliberately NOT discussing with the American people, and that is: if either Syria and/or Iran are attacked, just what precisely will Russia and China do?!?

I do not think you believe that either Putin or the Duma, or the Chinese leadership, will sit collectively on their hands and start singing "Kumbya".

So is THIS your strategy for engaging in a war with Russia and China?!? If so, sir, you had better think again, and very carefully, about this.

Because of the US military not having the resources to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war with Russia, the US military will most likely employ its nuclear capabilities. And THAT is where things get truly ugly; the unintended consequences to this may be both horrific... and irreversible.

Strange Bedfellows: To Fight ISIS, US Now Supports Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Other Terror Groups

US Mideast relationships get stranger every day. The US has come to the defense or has given aid to three rather unlikely groups in the past few weeks.

Silliest Nobel Peace Prize Awarded

The world had hoped President Obama would deliver on his promises of peace and reconciliation and CHANGE the deeply dysfunctional system and its figureheads, when he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in advance.

I had hoped Obama was demonstrating perhaps more obviously than his predecessors just how captive the American President is of his Washington influence groups and their representatives, both Hill and Lobby. He was making himself visibly trapped in the oligarchy.

It was wishful thinking. I think true public servants are few and far in between. In fact, I doubt that such has ever really existed, except in the scripts of Political advisor’s, campaign managers and the fantasies of the electorate.

Official: Chinese Flotilla's Presence in Hormuzgan Waters Sign of Iran-China Alliance

"The presence of a Chinese navy flotilla in Iran's Southern port of Bandar Abbas is indicative of solidarity between the two nations and armies," Hormuzgan Governor General Jassem Jadari said in a meeting with the commanders and crew members of the Chinese navy flotilla in Bandar Abbas on Sunday.

He noted that Iran and China have closely cooperated in combat against pirates in the high seas in recent years, and said, "Hormuzgan province is of particular importance due to its strategic status and its location near the Strait of Hormuz and also the presence of flotillas of different countries in there."

The commander of the Chinese flotilla, for his part, said that his warships berthed at Bandar Abbas at the end of their mission for protecting trade ships against pirate attacks in a move to consolidate the friendly ties between the Chinese and Iranian nations and navies.

Obama’s ‘stupid stuff’ turned upside down

So much hard work to pivot from GWOT (Global War on Terrorism) to the Big Boys in Eurasia. So little time – and competence. The Caliph’s goons have announced on the record they would go for beheading Putin. If only the Pentagon would subcontract the job.

First Obama promised there would be no ground troops to fight The Caliph – as in a re-invasion of Iraq. Then General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said that if the current gambit of Obama’s self-defined “Don’t Do Stupid Stuff” foreign policy doctrine does not work – and it won’t – he’ll go for ground troops, embedded or otherwise.

On Ukraine, the Big Picture spells out the European Union mired in a horrendous crisis, under a third recession in five years, obviously without the cash, not to mention the will, to pay Ukraine’s humongous bills. Obama’s presidency has come full circle by reinventing the neocon dogmas it once professed to reject. On the pretext of fighting the IS, which the US and its allies created in the first instance, what is unfolding is a massive neocon project to remold the Muslim Middle East to suit the US’ geopolitical objectives. Call it by whatever name, it is an imperial war – albeit with a Nobel as commander-in-chief.

The US will pit Muslims against Muslims in a grim war through the deployment of ‘smart power’, which would ensure that American casualties are avoided.

The strategy is built on three pillars – firstly, setting well-defined limits to the actual American intervention in military terms, secondly, resuscitating the ‘regime change’ agenda in Syria and, thirdly, dispensing with any mandate from the United Nations. In essence, it becomes a repackaged version of the crudely unilateralist US intervention in the Middle East by the George W. Bush administration.

America Created Al-Qaeda and the ISIS Terror Group

Much like Al Qaeda, the Islamic State (ISIS) is made-in-the-USA, an instrument of terror designed to divide and conquer the oil-rich Middle East and to counter Iran’s growing influence in the region.

The fact that the United States has a long and torrid history of backing terrorist groups will surprise only those who watch the news and ignore history.

Ceasefire? A hollow victory indeed

There was more bad news for Israel. The IDF launched a major air and ground military offensives and did not come close to destroying its adversaries’ leadership, organization, military capabilities and alliances. During the seven weeks of brutal attacks against the densely-populated civilian centers, Israel managed to put the Palestinian issue back on the Arab map, draw unprecedented global censure, and give wings to the Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions (BDS) campaign to undermine Israel’s economy. Israel also managed to unify Palestinian political parties across the board – a minor miracle – and make regional heroes out of the “Palestinian Resistance.” With every lash of Israel’s whip, Palestinians found new determination to break the siege of Gaza and end Israel’s occupation.

9/11 After 13 years Paul Craig Roberts

The corrupt Bush and Obama regimes used 9/11 to kill, maim, dispossess and displace millions of Muslims in seven countries, none of whom had anything whatsoever to do with 9/11.

The tragedy of September 11, 2001, goes far beyond the deaths of those who died in the towers and the deaths of firefighters and first responders who succumbed to illnesses caused by inhalation of toxic dust. For thirteen years a new generation of Americans has been born into the 9/11 myth that has been used to create the American warfare/police state.

Watching the twin towers and WTC 7 come down, it was obvious to me that the buildings were not falling down as a result of structural damage. When it became clear that the White House had blocked an independent investigation of the only three steel skyscrapers in world history to collapse as a result of low temperature office fires, it was apparent that there was a coverup.

Jewish State and Islamic State, Like Breeds Like

When the US and its allies say they are doing what is right by humanity, and by their values, the question begging to be asked is where is their humanity and values in regard to the Palestinian people, and why are they not equally doing what is right by humanity, and by their values towards “the Jewish State” and its aggression, crimes and gross violations of human rights, international law and resolutions? — Ali Kazak(former Palestinian ambassador to Australia, New Zealand, Vanuatu, East Timor and the South Pacific region)

The US behaves like a lion and a superpower with Russia, China and other countries but like a pussy cat and a banana republic when dealing with Israel.

US President Barack Obama said in his recent speech broadcast live to the nation “This is American leadership at its best: We stand with people who fight for their own freedom. And we rally other nations on behalf of our common security and common humanity.” He should try saying this to the Palestinian people.

American Establishment Combats Resurgent ‘Isolationist’ Threat

“With communism gone, the conservative coalition should have fractured long ago. This was delayed by Sept. 11 and the rise of radical Islam. But now, 12 years into that era — after Afghanistan and Iraq, after drone wars and the NSA revelations — the natural tension between isolationist and internationalist tendencies has resurfaced.”

In 2013 it became apparent that the American people had grown averse to America’s involvement in wars, and that received empirical confirmation in a poll conducted by the Pew Research Center in November 2013, which revealed that 51 percent of Americans believed that their country’s military involvement was excessive. [1] Once again the bugaboo of isolationism entered the mainstream spotlight, the derogatory label being attached to those who would like to cut back America’s global Intervention.

ISIS Beheadings on Cue from Washington and London?

The question is this: are these shocking executions, with their highly stylized graphic videos, being used to manipulate public consent for Western military intervention in Syria? In that case, ISIS is not acting in some apparent rogue fashion, turning on its Western intelligence masters, but rather it is obeying orders as usual as part of a macabre charade to facilitate Western military intervention.

A meeting this week in Paris will allegedly firm up military tactics on how the US-led coalition will carry out its putative strikes. So far, Washington has said that it will not be committing ground troops as in the previous Iraq War (2003-2012) and the ongoing US-led campaign against the Taliban in Afghanistan. Obama said the modus operandi against ISIS would be like its “counter-terror operations in Yemen and Somalia”, where US air power is assisted by “partners on the ground”.

Israeli drone spying on Iran took off from Nakhchivan: Sources

An Israeli spy drone which Iran recently downed on its way to one of the Iranian nuclear site had taken off from an air base in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, sources say.

The anonymous sources said the Hermes drone, which was taken down by Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) forces on August 23 after 300 kilometers of flight, was bound for the Natanz enrichment facility in central Iran.

The revelation about the Israeli drone's launch site indicates Baku’s involvement in the spying mission, the unnamed sources claimed.

The New "Regime Change" Plan - Attack Damascus From The South

There are serious active preparations for a new attack on Damascus. Anti-government forces, including the Al-Qaeda affiliate Jabhat al-Nusra, have been trained and equipped in Jordan and are now moving into their starting position in Quneitra governate in south-west Syria. (A similar plan in spring 2013 was only partially executed and later aborted.)

The anti-government forces now control a 40 miles (70km) long, three miles (5km) wide strip from Jordan along the Golan frontier up to Lebanon. This strip can be used to infiltrate into Hizbullah territory in south Lebanon but its main purpose is likely an attack on Damascus from the south. The Syrian military would have great difficulties to dislodge the anti-government forces from this strip as it is covered by Israeli anti-air and artillery fire.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When will this Administration collectively man up, and tell the American people the truth?!?

I am really, thoroughly disgusted with this government, and the interminable amounts of codswallop it expects Americans to swallow on a daily basis, in terms of the damned lies they are trying to get us to believe in to support this war.

This whole ISIS pretext for US military involvement, is about regime change in Syria and Iran, period, end of discussion.

The big questions here are, how soon Al-Assad will want to invoke his mutual defense pact with Iran, and just what Russia will do if, in fact, that mutual defense pact is invoked by Al-Assad.

Were I a betting woman, I would not bet against Russia getting involved militarily against the US in Iran's behalf.

And the hell of it is, neither the US nor Israel can reasonably expect to successfully wage a conventional war against Russia; they don't have the money, the manufacturing, or the troop strength to make this happen.

Additionally, I do not want to see the best and brightest of our military be killed or maimed for life over what is essentially a war for private profit.

And that is the dirty little secret of all wars; they are all ultimately about private profit.

U.S. Fear/War Mongers Win This Round

The fear/war mongers got to the New York Times editorial board between May 23, 2013 and September 10, 2014. The Times and President Obama both gave in to the wrong people.

The American public doesn’t want to go to war unless there is something out there that frightens them.

This explains why all of our wars have been preceded by dire warnings of what will happen if we don’t militarily engage the enemy.
In President Obama’s Wednesday night speech, he repudiated his own caution and prudence by falling in line with those who think there is no fear out there that war cannot overcome.

The New York Times editorial board sonorously endorsed the President’s decision under a headline that informs the nation that the drums of war have had their effect: “The Attack on ISIS Expands to Syria,”

Obama takes hypocrisy to new high levels

In laying out his plans to degrade and ultimately destroy ISIS, President Obama said this: “America, our endless blessings bestow an enduring burden. But as Americans, we welcome our responsibility to lead. From Europe to Asia, from the far reaches of Africa to war-torn capitals of the Middle East, we stand for freedom, for justice, for dignity. These are values that have guided our nation since its founding.”

There’s an old English, somewhat vulgar, four-letter word which in my view sums up that statement. CRAP. (The dictionary definition of it is “excrement, rubbish, dirt, worthless nonsense.”)

An informed visitor from another planet who listened to Obama would scratch his head and say, “Has the president not heard about the occupied and oppressed Palestinians and their long struggle for freedom, justice and dignity?”

BBC playing dirty tricks against Iran by spreading disinformation

“Ayatollah Khamenei has sanctioned General Qasem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force - an elite overseas unit of the Revolutionary Guards - to work with forces fighting IS, including the US,” according to the BBC, quoting “sources in Tehran.”

The BBC claim comes as US President Barack Obama this week expanded American air strikes against the terror network in western Iraq, which is also known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL).

Iran has consistently condemned ISIL for its indiscriminate brutality towards Muslims and Christians in Syria and Iraq, whom the group targets as "infidels" in its twisted Saudi-backed Wahhabi ideology. Videos showing ISIL militants massacring captives in mass graves and beheading individuals have shocked and sickened the world. Iran views the terror group as a dangerous development in the region, which is stoking sectarian conflict and destabilizing countries.

However, the Iranian authorities have flatly rejected the BBC's claims that the Islamic Republic is seeking to collaborate with Washington in order to defeat the ISIL.

The 9/11 Triple Cross

Three major thesis are in competition concerning the culprit of the 9/11 attacks:

1. Islam Job: the official conclusion of the 9/11 Commission, blaming Muslim terrorists in general, and Osama bin Laden in particular;
2. Inside Job: the dominant thesis within the so-called 9/11 Truth movement, which accuses the American government, or a faction within the American Deep State;
3. Mossad Job: the rising alternative thesis within the community of truth seekers, which claim that the masterminds were a Zionist network close to the Israeli Likud.
There are variations on each thesis and middle grounds between them, but three camps can clearly be distinguished: Acknowledging this reality, by renouncing the bipolar vision of an information warfare between official liars and 9/11 truthers, and paying attention to the debate (or absence of the debate) between Inside-jobbers and Mossad-jobbers, is the first step toward a paradigm shift in “9/11ology”.

As Israel Assaulted Gaza, Its Supporters Pushed for Assaulting Iran

So, one would think that Israel’s supporters and lobby in the United States and elsewhere would be very busy trying to "justify" Israel’s possible war crimes and even genocide in Gaza, and present a more positive image of Israel after the carnage in Gaza. But, that was not the case. Israel’s supporters continued to push for more military war against, as usual, Iran, as well as sanctions – a harsh form of economic warfare – the casualties of which, as sanctions against Iraq in the 1990s demonstrated, can far exceed those of military wars. Consider the following.

"It is time to bomb Iran’s nuclear capabilities. It is time for the United States; if we are not going to stop Iran’s nukes, then let Israel do it. A friend will not put another friend in this kind of jeopardy."

IAEA report on past Iranian nuke research may hamstring deal

According to the latest report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran has offered a possible if unlikely explanation for one of its past activities and continues to stonewall on two others.

To admit such work took place would cast doubt on repeated statements by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other senior Iranian officials that developing nuclear weapons would be contrary to Islamic law. However, there may be a way to finesse US and IAEA concerns.

Iran State TV Airs Footage Of "Downed Israeli Drone"

As Iran continues to negotiate with world powers over its controversial (but purely for peaceful purposes, of course) nuclear program - with hard-liners demanding more concessions from the West - The Telegraph reports that a brief video, which aired on the Arabic-language Al-Alam TV, shows what the channel says are parts of an Israeli drone, scattered in an unidentified desert area. Text accompanying the footage says the drone was downed on Saturday and identifies it as a Hermes 450, a known Israeli model. The Iranian TV station also says the model is dubbed "Spy Goddess." However, as The Telegraph adds, there were no visible Israeli markings in the footage and Israel's military has declined comment on the matter... and Iran will sue Israel legally over its alleged violation of Iran's air space.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel used unmarked aircraft to attack the USS Liberty, so the absence of markings doesn't mean much.

VIRTUAL 9-11: Will the US & Israel Hack The US Banking System Computers and Falsely Blame It On Iran (or Syria or Russia or China)?

So what it looks like is being planned, and pre-sold to the American people with all these stories about celebrities' personal information being hacked and made public (an activity that produces no profit for the hackers other than news headlines), and the "Syrian" (nudge nudge wink wink) hack of the AP Twitter feed that shocked the US stock market, is that the US Government will itself take down the US financial computers, and blame it on Iran /Russia/ China/Al Qaeda/Syria/Arabs and others to be named as convenient. This gets Wall Street and Washington DC off the hook, because now the financial melt-down is an act of war, rather than the result of decades of Wall Street crime and corruption and the predations of Private Central Banks. US banks have already been hit with cyber attacks, to set the stage.

Iran Destroyed Israeli UAV

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on August 24, 2014 that they had destroyed an Israeli surveillance UAV flying above the centrifuges center in Natanz. The news was broadcast by al-Aalem channel and confirmed by Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronot.

"Satanic Step"

"The air defense system downed the UAV with one missile," the Revolutionary Guard declared, adding "This Satanic step proves the aggressive character of Israel and adds another page in the blacklist of crimes committed by this entity."

US Begins Selling "Syria Intervention" Using ISIS Pretext

In a previous report titled, "Growing Mayhem - US Operating on Both Sides of Syrian-Iraqi Border," it was reported that (emphasis added):

Clearly, the answer, left for readers to arrive at on their own, is that these "successful" US airstrikes in Iraq must be carried over into Syria - where mission creep can do the rest, finally dislodging the Syrian government from power after an ongoing proxy war has failed to do so since 2011. After arming and aiding the Kurds in fighting ISIS in Iraq, the US will attempt to make a similar argument regarding the arming of terrorists in Syria and providing them direct US air support to defeat ISIS - and of course - Damascus.

In less than 24 hours, the New York Times would report in its article, "U.S. General Says Raiding Syria Is Key to Halting ISIS," that:

Fmr. Homeland Security Adviser: ‘Very, Very True’ ISIS May Have Crossed Border

Joshua Katz, an Army veteran and former CIA operations officer who served as Senior Policy Advisor to the Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee said it is “very, very, true” that ISIS may have crossed the southern border.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Obviously this will not go over very well with the pro-illegal immigration agenda, but what is being done here is the creation of a plausible means for the terrorists (nudge nudge wink wink) to have brought the bomb into the US. Personally, I think the weapon is already inside the US and has been for quite some time, either a bomb crafted from some of the Uranium Israel stole during the NUMEC scandal or the missing nuke from the Minot incident.

FLASHBACK - U.S. Suspected Israeli Involvement in 1960s Missing Uranium

Declassified documents from the 1970s provide new evidence that federal officials believed bomb-grade uranium that disappeared from a Pennsylvania nuclear facility in the 1960s was likely taken for use in a clandestine Israeli atomic-weapons program.

The documents, obtained earlier this year through public-records requests by a Washington-based nonprofit group, also indicate that senior officials wanted to keep the matter under wraps for fear it could undermine U.S. Middle East peace efforts.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is estimated that Israel acquired at least 118 kilograms of weapons-grade uranium. 16 kilograms of uranium is enough to make a working nuclear weapon. So Israel acquired enough uranium to make seven bombs. Now the trick of getting a "terrorist" nuclear weapon into the United States is getting it INTO the United States, but Israel started out with enough uranium inside the United States to make 7 bombs, then smuggled all or part of it back to Israel. It would have been trivial for Israel to leave enough weapons-grade uranium inside the US to build a bomb, and there is still the unexplained radiation surrounding Israel's New York Embassy. Getting that weapons-grade uranium is the hard part of building a bomb. Once you have that, the rest is easy. All a uranium bomb does is take two sub-critical pieces of uranium and slap them together. Such a bomb makes for a great means of blackmailing the US government, or staging the ultimate terror false-flag to trigger WW3. Just something to keep in mind while ABCNNBBCBSFOXDRUDGE scream at you that ISIS is going to nuke a US city!

“Attacks on hospitals, schools and other public places are regarded as war crimes and the world should break the silence and confront these savage attempts,” Marreh Sedq told reporters on Thursday.

Iran says 'little chance' of reaching nuclear deal with West by November

Iran's foreign minister said on Saturday that he believed it was unlikely a final-status agreement would be reached with the West over the Islamic Republic's disputed nuclear program within the time frame that has been allotted in the negotiations.

"The chances that we will come to final understandings within the four months remaining are low," Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif is quoted as saying.

Zarif added that even if the parties come to a deal by the November deadline, they would still need more time to flesh out the fine print. The foreign minister said that the talks could lead to "quick results" if the P5+1 powers – the five permanent members of the Security Council and Germany – display the necessary will. He said that in recent months, the discussions have proceeded carefully, although there has been progress.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is precisely the outcome Israel has pressured the US delegation to achieve here, so that they can be looking at a US/Israeli invasion of Iran shortly after the negotiations are over.

Look for more US media demonization of Iran in the short term, after the talks collapse, blaming Iran for preventing these negotiations from moving forward.

Iran seeks alternative to Maliki to hold Iraq together

Iran believes Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is no longer able to hold his country together and is looking for an alternative leader to combat a Sunni Islamist insurgency, senior Iranian officials said Tuesday.

Political deadlock since an inconclusive general election in April has paralyzed efforts to fight back against ISIS rebels who have captured swaths of northern and western Iraq and Syria and have threatened to march on Baghdad.

One Iranian official, who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity, said Tehran was working with Iraqi factions to seek a replacement for Maliki, but there were few viable alternatives.

“We have reached the conclusion that Maliki cannot preserve the unity of Iraq anymore, but Ayatollah [Ali] Sistani still has hopes,” said the Iranian official, referring to Iraq’s top Shiite cleric. “Now, Ayatollah Sistani also backs our view on Maliki.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a true, geopolitical "mission impossible", unless someone is able to get Al-Maliki to step down, and he is assured of safe transit for himself and his family out of the country to a quiet, financially supported life elsewhere.

Russia Delivers Blow To Petrodollar In Historic $20 Billion Iran Oil Deal

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak and his Iranian counterpart Bijan Zanganeh signed a five-year memorandum of understanding in Moscow, which included cooperation in the oil sector.

“Based on Iran’s proposal, we will participate in arranging shipments of crude oil, including to the Russian market,” Novak was quoted as saying.

The five year accord will see Russia help Iran “organize oil sales” as well as “cooperate in the oil-gas industry, construction of power plants, grids, supply of machinery, consumer goods and agriculture products”, according to a statement by the Energy Ministry in Moscow.

The deal could see Russia buying 500,000 barrels of Iranian oil a day, the Moscow-based Kommersant newspaper has previously reported. Under the proposed deal Russia would buy up to 500,000 barrels a day or a third of Iranian oil exports in exchange for Russian equipment and goods.

Vladimir Putin signs historic $20bn oil deal with Iran to bypass Western sanctions

Vladimir Putin is eyeing a $20bn (£11.8bn) trade deal with Iran that would see Russia sidestep Western sanctions on its energy sector.

Under the terms of a five-year accord, Russia would help Iran organise oil sales as well as “cooperate in the oil-gas industry, construction of power plants, grids, supply of machinery, consumer goods and agriculture products”, according to a statement by the Energy Ministry in Moscow.

However, the Russian government mysteriously withdrew that statement last night, saying it would issue a new one on Wednesday.

Despite the U-turn, news of a possible agreement hit US markets. The Dow fell 139 points, or 0.8pc, led by energy companies such as Chevron, down 2.5pc, and ExxonMobil, down 1.9pc. Brent Crude fell 1.5pc before recovering to trade down 0.7pc at $104.61.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF this deal is, in fact, consummated, it will mean that any military attack against Iran will be construed as a military attack against Russia.

*PUTIN: RETALIATORY MEASURES SHOULDN'T HURT RUSSIA CONSUMERS:IFX

Russian stocks and currency are sliding this morning, not helped by this announcement. "A sum of 40,000 houses have been targeted in Gaza in the Israeli attacks in the last month, out of which over 23,000 have been nearly destroyed and 17,000 have been completely annihilated," Zarif said, addressing the closing ceremony of the ministerial emergency meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Palestine Committee here in Tehran on Monday evening.

The Iranian foreign minister pointed to his phone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry on the dispatch of medicine and foodstuff to the people of Gaza, and said, "Other contacts at other levels have also been made and today Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian had some detailed talks with his Egyptian counterpart in the same regard."

He expressed the hope that the Egyptian government would help the people of Gaza find access to medicine and the Palestinian patients and injured Gazans, who are mostly children and exposed to serious risks, be transferred to Iran for treatment.

Gohmert: A Friend Will Not Put Another Friend in this Kind of Jeopardy

Webmaster's Commentary:

Look at all the things going wrong with the US today and still the Congress obsesses about Israel, Israel, Israel! At 45 seconds, Gohmert calls for the bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities to please his masters in Tel Aviv, apparently unconcerned that both Iran and the US have signed and ratified the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, which means the US Government recognizes Iran's right to have those peaceful nuclear facilities Gohmert wants to bomb to please Israel. That such a blatant violation of a treaty agreement would severely damage what remains of the US Government's credibility is not a problem for Gohmert. Iran has diluted its enriched uranium: UN

Iran has turned all of its enriched uranium closest to the level needed to make nuclear arms into more harmless forms, the United Nations' nuclear agency said Sunday.

The move was expected. Tehran had committed to convert or dilute its 20 per cent-enriched stockpile under an agreement with six powers last November that froze its atomic programs pending negotiations on a comprehensive deal. Those talks were extended Saturday to Nov. 24.

Webmaster's Commentary:

20% sounds like a lot, but remember that to actually make a nuclear weapon requires 95% enrichment or above. 20% enrichment is used for medical isotopes and other industrial applications like anti-static systems or irradiation of food as a preservative. And while we applaud Iran taking this initiative, in the end it is futile as the US and Israel do not want an agreement; they want a war to force Iran to accept private central banking, and sell their oil only for the US dollar. One way or the other, the US will derail the negotiations.

Putin Poised to Retaliate Against Obama by Trashing Iran Deal

Earlier this week, Putin promised to retaliate against the United States for new sanctions targeting his friends and business associates, as well as large Russian defense, energy, and financial firms. On Thursday, Putin called President Obama to alert him a civilian jetliner had crashed over Eastern Ukraine, a tragedy the U.S. says was caused by a missile shot from a Russian-made SA-11 mobile surface to air missile system located in a separatist-held area.

Putin’s next call was to none other than the President of Iran, Hassan Rouhani.

“Mr. Putin and Mr. Rouhani exchanged views on the state of talks on Iran’s nuclear program,” stated the Kremlin readout of the call. “The two leaders also examined bilateral cooperation matters of mutual interest, including joint projects in the oil and gas sector and in peaceful nuclear energy.”

BRICS Nations Recognize Iran’s Inalienable Right To A Peaceful Nuclear Program

With Iran’s nuclear talks at a decisive crossroads, the BRICS group of emerging powers says Tehran has an inalienable right to a peaceful nuclear program.

The BRICS countries also say there’s no alternative to a negotiated solution to the Iranian nuclear issue. The countries, namely Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, made the statement in a declaration adopted at their summit meeting in the Brazilian city of Fortaleza.

The support came as Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany are negotiating for a final solution to their dispute over Tehran’s nuclear program. The BRICS countries welcomed what they called the positive momentum generated by the talks which they encouraged to continue in order to achieve a comprehensive and long-lasting solution.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What is important to remember is that by signing the Nuclear-Non Proliferation Treaty, the United States also recognized Iran's right to a peaceful nuclear program. By using the threat of military action to coerce Iran to surrender their rights under that treaty, it is the United States that is in violation of international law.

Sec. of State John Kerry: ‘Significant gaps’ remain in Iranian nuclear talks

US Secretary of State John Kerry said on Sunday major differences remain between Iran and six world powers in talks over the country’s controversial nuclear programme, an opinion shared by Tehran just a week before a July 20 deadline to reach a deal.

The United States, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China want Iran to reduce its nuclear fuel-making capacity to deny it any means of quickly producing atom bombs. In exchange, international sanctions that have crippled the large OPEC member’s oil-dependent economy would gradually be lifted.

Iran, however, has said it is enriching uranium for peaceful energy purposes only, and wants the sanctions removed swiftly. But a history of hiding sensitive nuclear work from UN inspectors has raised international suspicions, as well as fears of a new Middle East war if diplomacy fails to yield a long-term agreement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Congratulations, Secretary (Epic Fail) Kerry, for having delivered precisely what your Israeli handlers wanted as the outcome; no viable, win/win agreement between the West and Iran over their nuclear program, and the absence of such agreement as a pretext for a potential coming war against it.

But there is one 9,000 lb gorilla, sleeping on the Steinway, for the moment, that it appears you and the rest of the US government have not considered a key component in this scenario, and that is Russia. As reported at Washington's blog, January 2012:

Russia and China Would Consider An Attack On Iran – Or Syria – As An Attack On Their National Security RT notes: The escalating conflict around Iran should be contained by common effort, otherwise the promising Arab Spring will grow into a “scorching Arab Summer,” says Dmitry Rogozin, Russia’s deputy prime minister and former envoy to NATO. “Iran is our close neighbor, just south of the Caucasus. Should anything happen to Iran, should Iran get drawn into any political or military hardships, this will be a direct threat to our national security,” stressed Rogozin.

I would like to politely point out to the precious few adults in the bowels of DC that the US military does not have the money, the troop strength, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war with Russia; and that is what makes the military scenario so scarily dangerous here.

IF continuing these negotiations past the 20th of this month could acheive a breakthrough, then, by all means, this should be pursued to the last moment as the most rational path.

Unfortunately, however, those who love the profit and spoils of war hate logical, rational thought with a passion.

Israel military says it has shot down drone along southern coastline

Israel's military said Monday it downed a drone along its southern coastline, and fired two deadly airstrikes into the Gaza Strip, in its week-long campaign against Islamic militants.

The drone came from Gaza and was shot down by a Patriot surface-to-air missile near the southern city of Ashdod, the military said. It did not say what the drone was carrying and there was no immediate confirmation from Gaza on the use of unmanned aircraft.

Iran warns it is ready to walk away from nuclear talks

Iran's chief negotiator in nuclear talks in Vienna warned Saturday that Tehran is ready to walk away if "excessive" Western demands cause a failure, a day before foreign ministers try to inject momentum. Eight days before a deadline for a deal, Abbas Araqchi said however that he hoped that the attendance from Sunday of foreign ministers including US Secretary of State John Kerry would help overcome "deep differences" that remain.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is, of course, what the US and Israel have wanted all along, and they have been playing this cute game called "Just one more thing." It goes like this. As soon as an agreement is about to be reached, the US says, "Just one more thing." Then a new agreement is put together and just as it is ready, the US again says, "Just one more thing." Then "Just one more thing." Then "Just one more thing." Then "Just one more thing."

Finally the other party, in this case Iran, realizes that the US is not bargaining in good faith and quits, allowing the US to claim the other side is being unreasonable and walked away from negotiations! Because the US and Israel do not want peace with Iran (any more than Israel wants peace with the Palestinians). They want war and to make it look like the other side is to blame for it.

U.S. threat to break nuclear talks is psychological warfare: MP

Iranian MP Alaeddin Boroujerdi has said that a threat by the United States to break the ongoing nuclear talks between Iran and the major powers is just a psychological warfare.

“I think raising this issue is psychological warfare. The Americans are aware that if they disturb the game, Iran will quickly resume its previous (nuclear) activities and will continue them,” Boroujerdi, the chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, said in an interview with the Fars news agency on Saturday.

He said Iran will resume uranium enrichment to a purity level of 20 percent and will pursue its nuclear research program more seriously if the Western countries torpedo the nuclear talks.

The MP also said that the Islamic Republic will never abandon its uranium enrichment program, adding that the program is one of Iran’s red lines.

Iran remembers US downing of passenger plane

On July 3, 1988, a US Navy ship shot down an Iranian passenger plane in the Persian Gulf, killing all 290 people on board. Among the dead were citizens of Iran, the United Arab Emirates, India, Pakistan, Yugoslavia and Italy, including 66 children.

The downing of Flight 655 by the USS Vincennes with two surface-to-air missiles has been mostly forgotten in the United States. However, partly due to its timing, it has played a major role in shaping Iranian officials' view of US policy toward Iran.

On his English-language Twitter account, Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei shared pictures and messages commemorating the anniversary of Flight 655. “If the commander of the warship made a mistake, why did you not bring him to trial? Why did you give him a medal of honor?” one tweet read. The ship's crew were awarded medals for their service. Another tweet contained the hashtags #NeverForget and #NeverForgive.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Iranian airbus was short down by a computer error in the software that controlled the USS Vincennes' AEGIS defense system. The same target ID number was accidentally assigned to two different targets. The first was the airbus, flying a normal commercial path, and the second was an Iranian F-14 in the distance on a training mission. The AEGIS system merged the two into a single target that appeared to be an F-14 in an attack profile near the ship, which then launched the two missiles, killing the passenger jet. A similar software error is thought to have been behind the US Navy's shoot down of TWA 800, and possibly that of Maylasian Flight 870 as well.

How to Understand the ISIS Threat

I suspect that a paucity of reliable intelligence is being shoehorned into an acceptable narrative for policymakers to regurgitate. The promotion of the alleged threat includes a conflation of several quite separate issues. It is based on the indisputable fact that a number of young Muslims ostensibly citizens of European countries and the United States, some of whom are indigenous converts to Islam, have gone to perform jihad in the Middle East and South Asia. As the punditry would have it, they must be planning to return home some day and raise hell, a line of reasoning that has spawned several Congressional hearings hosted by the Rep. Peter King of New York on the so-called home-grown terrorism threat.

It’s payback time: The Obama administration’s “strategy” (remember “Don’t Do Stupid Shit”, the Ukraine strategy?) is to impose regime change on al-Maliki; after all, he had the bad taste of refusing to let US troops keep occupying Iraq past the 2012 deadline, and on top of it his government is close to Tehran.

Court Ruling: Israeli And US Terrorism Victims Now 'Own' Iran's Internet

The United States District Court ruled today that the .ir domain name, along with Iran’s IP addresses
are assets that can be seized to satisfy judgments totaling over a billion dollars, owed by Iran to Israeli and US victims of terrorism perpetrated by Iranian-supported proxies like Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Hezbollah organizations, among others.

The verdict was won by attorney Nitsana Darshan-Leitner of the Shurat Hadin Law Center and what it means is absolutely delicious. The fees paid by Iran to keep its Internet going could be levied and given to the victims, or their lawyers now have to legal right to force an auction of Iran’s Internet assets to help satisfy the judgment.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Disconnect Iran from the internet ... just in time for that terrible Iranian terror attack (nudge nudge wink wink say no more). This is a repeat of 9-11, where the FBI in the week before 9-11 happened, shut down the websites of Muslim charities in the United States, so they could not defend Muslims from the official 9-11 cover story.

Obviously we all need to be concerned with the weaponization of the internet and the turning of cyberspace into a war zone. I suspect that this move by ICANN to shut down Iran's internet over this false accusation that they had anything to do with 9-11 will trigger a global move towards parallel name-management systems outside US control, just as the NSA scandal has provoked a global move away from US IT companies and services, and just as the federal Reserve has provoked a global move away from the US dollar.

Iran, Britain Start Measures for Reopening Embassies

Speaking to reporters here in Tehran on Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham reminded that measures to mend the Tehran-London relations started with the step-by-step moves made by the two sides since last September when the two foreign ministers met each other on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting in New York, which eventually led to the appointment of non-resident charge d'affaires.

The spokeswoman expressed the hope that the two states would "promote their non-resident to resident charge d'affaires in a bid to facilitate affairs and start a new phase in mending their ties".

Webmaster's Commentary:

Iran transfers 88 Russian Sukhoi fighter planes to Iraq

88 Russian Sukhoi fighter planes arrived at the Imam Ali military base in Nasiriyah, Dhi Qar. Today a security source said that the base of the Imam Ali (AS) received 88 Russian Sukhoi multi-brands, which were held by the Republic of Iran for more than 20 years.

The source, who preferred not to be named, indicated that “these aircraft will be equipped with sophisticated weapons; they will take part in the fighting against the terrorist elements of the Islamic State in Iraq and Levant.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looking at the age of the aircraft, one has to wonder just how sophisticated a weapons upgrade they can reasonably be expected to handle.

Envoy: Venezuela Ready to Become Iran's Exports Hub in Latin America

"Venezuela is ready to turn into a center for Iran's technological exports to other Latin American states," Zambrano told FNA on Tuesday.

He referred to the attempts made by the western countries, specially the US, to prevent Iran from increasing its exports to other states, and said, "Yet, the United States' extensive sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran haven’t been able to prevent exports of Iran-made technology and products to the other world states."

Zambrano underscored that Washington has exerted sanctions and pressures against Tehran because the US officials are fearful of Iran's growing technology and export of its home-made technological products to the other world regions.

Iran has in recent years expanded friendly ties with Latin America, specially in economic, trade and industrial fields.

BACK TO BAGHDAD!

One would think the neoconservatives who engineered the Iraq War – the worst disaster for the United States since Vietnam – would never emerge from hiding.

Not so. With dazzling chutzpah, former Vice President Dick Cheney, the real power in the Bush administration, just claimed President Barack Obama was responsible for the growing mess in Iraq.

Obama is a wimp allowing America’s foes to run rampant across the Mideast and Eastern Europe, growled Cheney. He wants US troops to reoccupy Iraq, and maybe Syria. Cheney’s blustering was applauded by another over-the-hill dotard, Republican party leader Sen. John McCain.

Out from the Washington woodwork crept a swarm of neoconservatives. They joined Cheney in blasting Obama over Iraq and calling for more wars against the Muslim world.

Pirates with Nukes

Entirely dispelled are any lingering doubts about the disdain Israel has for international law. Before going any further, just reflect upon all the apologist responses to the global condemnation of the Mediterranean Massacre. All the toadies that carry the water for the Zionist despotism are predictable and deceitful. Based on a foundation of sand their mantra ignores the facts and rests on false axioms.

NeoCon Glenn Beck is a devoted cheerleader of Zionism. Making things worse, he is also a Dispensationalist. Departing from the solid research on condemning the failed philosophy of Progressivism, Beck demeans his audience with a false history of Palestine and the nature of the Israeli state. His religious doctrine regarding Israel makes him an apostate. Duping well intentions, but ill-informed viewers into accepting the crimes of Israel, as the will of God, is why he is a Trojan horse.

Iran strongly opposes US intervention in Iraq

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei expressed strong opposition Sunday to intervention in Iraq by the United States or anyone else, saying Iraqis themselves could bring an end to violence there, the official IRNA news agency reported.

Khamenei, who has the last word on all matters of state, added in remarks to judiciary officials that Washington aimed to keep Iraq under its control and place its own stooges in power. The conflict there was not sectarian, but was really between those who wanted Iraq in the U.S. camp and those who sought Iraq's independence, IRNA reported.

"We are strongly opposed to U.S. and other (countries') intervention in Iraq," IRNA quoted Khamenei as saying.

Iran slams IAEA failure to abide by previous deal

Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran has censured the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for its failure to abide by its previous agreements with Tehran.

In a Thursday interview with Inter Press Service, Ali Akbar Salehi said pursuant to the February 2014 “Framework for Cooperation” agreement between Tehran and the IAEA, the UN nuclear supervisory body should have ended the investigation into Iran’s “exploding bridge-wire (EBW) experiments.”

IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano has so far refused to finalize the issues regarding the fast-functioning detonators, despite the fact that the EBW was the first issue that the two sides agreed to resolve under the agreement.

“We have agreed that once our explanations were enough to bring this to conclusion they would have to close that issue,” Salehi said, adding, “They should not keep the issue open.”

The IAEA is scheduled to release a new monthly report on Iran’s nuclear energy program on Friday.

THIS IS NOT GOING AS PLANNED: IRAQ PRIME MINISTER DEFIES US, ACCUSES SAUDI ARABIA OF “GENOCIDE

Shortly after the US revealed that, in addition to aircraft carriers and amphibious assault ships it was also sending a few hundred “special forces” on the ground in Iraq, contrary to what Obama had stated previously, Washington made quite clear it wants Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to embrace Sunni politicians as a condition of U.S. support to fight a lightning advance by forces from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. Then something unexpected happened: Iraq’s Shi’ite rulers defied Western calls on Tuesday to reach out to Sunnis to defuse the uprising in the north of the country, declaring a boycott of Iraq’s main Sunni political bloc and accusing Sunni power Saudi Arabia of promoting “genocide.”

In fact, as Reuters reported moments ago, the Shi’ite prime minister has moved in the opposite direction of Obama’s demands, announcing a crackdown on politicians and officers he considers “traitors” and lashing out at neighbouring Sunni countries for stoking militancy.

Webmaster's Commentary:

No matter how many personnel and weapons we are going to throw at Iraq (and that number of 275 troops to guard the US embassy is only the proverbial camel's nose under the tent), there is no amount of external force which can resolve the internal Shiite/Sunni conflict, save the Iraqi people themselves.

There has to be an internal dialogue and reconciliation between both groups to get the violence to stop.

However, the hugely autocratic and tone-deaf national Shiite leadership of the Al-Maliki government (the US-sponsored puppet), will do everything in their power to stop that from happening, including calls for the US government to bomb their own citizens.

Before the invasion, occupation, and de-Baathification in Iraq, there was no problem between the Sunni and Shiite Muslims in this country, nor were their problems for the Christian members of that society.

The explosive popular revolution in Iraq can be laid squarely at the feet of the preceding, and current, administrations. In both administrations, US foreign policy regarding Iraq can only be characterized as an epic failure.

Pentagon Denies Plan to Coordinate Iraq Strikes With Iran

Despite the Obama Administration considering direct security talks with Iran on the worsening situation in Iraq, the Pentagon insists that there will be no coordinated military action with Iran.

Iraq, America and The Lobby

It is amusing to witness the energy and effort mainstream news outlets are investing in diverting attention from the fact that the current mess in Iraq is the direct outcome of Jewish political domination of the West for the last two decades.

When America and Britain launched the criminal second Gulf War, it was the Zionist Neocons, a bunch of politically influential Jews who urged the ‘liberation’ of the Iraqi people. Members of the same breed of tribal exponents have rallied for intervention in Iran, Libya and most recently in Syria.

John Kerry: U.S. Open To Cooperating With Iran Over Iraq Conflict

The Obama administration is willing to talk with Iran over deteriorating security conditions in Iraq and is not ruling out potential U.S.-Iranian military cooperation in stemming the advance of Sunni extremists, Secretary of State John Kerry said Monday.

Kerry also said in an interview with Yahoo! News that U.S. drone strikes "may well" be an option.

Kerry said Washington is "open to discussions" with Tehran if the Iranians can help end the violence and restore confidence in the Iraqi government. Asked about possible military cooperation with Iran, Kerry said he would "not rule out anything that would be constructive." However, he stressed that any contacts with Iran would move "step-by-step."

U.S. officials said earlier there is a possibility that Undersecretary of State William Burns may discuss Iraq with an Iranian delegation at nuclear talks in Vienna.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to Secretary of State Kerry: sir, I am having an industrial strength, palm-to-forehead moment, upon reading your comments about drone strikes.

The current administration is definitely on the ropes on this one, and it appears the Iraqi people want their country back, and do not believe it will do well under its current, US-imposed leadership of Al-Maliki.

The drone strikes kill and maim a large number of innocent civilians, in this form of extrajudicial assassinations.

Congress, many of them facing a hostile voters, and critically vulnerable in upcoming elections, are most likely not to want to cooperate with the administration on further war efforts.

The scandals during this administration just keep on becoming more and more outrageous; Benghazigate, IRSgate, APgate, Obamacare; VAgate, APgate, Bergdolfgate, and NSAgate.

The state of the economy is in ruins in this country, except for the money junkies, and many people are in a very tough state financially.

The only option President Obama has right now is to invoke the War Powers act, and hope and pray that the drone strikes will murder enough Iraqis to calm down the local momentum away from Iraq's US-installed puppet.

But the President has only 30 days in which to act unilaterally, and only if there is a real, specific threat to the US itself, for which the current state of affairs in Iraq cannot possibly be said to qualify.

This is, I am pretty much convinced, the reason that Lindsey Graham was all over the talking head/presstitute "news" shows yesterday, and threatening the US with another "terrorist attack" (read: false flag) if we did not immediately re-invade Iraq.

Losing Iraq is losing the use of the US dollar as the medium of payment for Iraqi oil. Other nations, like China and Russia, have begun to freeze out the use of the US dollar completely, and China is dropping US treasuries like crazy.

(Sigh): This administration appears to be pathologically allergic to intelligent, long-term thinking and problem-prevention (not to mention problem solving).

The original invasion and occupation of Iraq was built on a pack of lies; the re-invasion of Iraq is an even more lousy idea, and one which will wind up leaving this country even more broke, morally and fiscally, than it is already.

So no, Secretary Kerry; extrajudicial assassinations will not "fix" the problems in Iraq; the religious/tribal ethnic strife, between Shiite and Sunni here have to be addressed internally, and in the context of peaceful, disciplined, and difficult dialogue so that all the people of the country feel as though they are respected, by both their government and their military.

Iraq conflict: U.S. open to talks with Iran over Iraq

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry says the Obama administration is willing to talk with Iran over deteriorating security conditions in Iraq and is not ruling out potential U.S.-Iranian military cooperation in stemming the advance of Sunni extremists.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Would that be the same Iran the US Government has been telling us ever since 1979 cannot be trusted to keep any agreement, such as the P5+1? And now the US and Iran are going to give each other a wet sloppy kiss and whup on the Iraqi people together?

Moscow plans to sign deal to build two more reactors in Bushehr power plant, part of a broader deal; unclear how this will affect Iran nuclear talks.

Russia plans to sign a contract with Iran this year to build two more nuclear reactors at its Bushehr power plant as part of a broader deal for up to eight reactors in the Islamic state, a source close to the negotiations told Reuters on Thursday.

It was not immediately clear how this might affect the six global powers' talks with Iran addressing disputed aspects of its nuclear program. Iran has resisted demands for cuts in its uranium enrichment capacity, pointing to plans for a future network of nuclear power stations.

Western powers want any lasting agreement with Iran to put to rest suspicions that it could develop nuclear weapons-making ability through enrichment. Iran denies any such intent.

Iranian Revolutionary Guard forces helped Iraqi troops regain control over most of Tikrit, according to Iranian security sources.

Confronted by the threat of Sunni Muslim forces overtaking Shiite-dominated Iraq, Iran responded to aid its Arab ally and sent Revolutionary Guard fighters to Iraq, according to Iranian security sources.

At least three battalions of the Quds Forces, the elite overseas branch of the Guards, were deployed to support the fight against ISIL, the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, an offshoot of al Qaeda that is swiftly conquering territory across Iraq, they said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What an absolutely brilliant chess move, on the part of the Iranian government and military; I mean, how the heck can the US government even talk about invading or bombing Iran while it is in the process of helping a US-allied government in Iraq?!?

The short answer is, YOU CAN'T!!

Obama may find himself allied with Iran during Iraq's jihad battle

With President Barack Obama on Thursday announcing to the American people that the U.S. must assist the fragile Iraq government to defend itself against a tidal wave of jihadists in that nation's northern region, Obama now finds himself in the peculiar position of perhaps partnering with the terrorist-sponsoring, Sharia-imposing nation of Iran.

Iran, which has always opposed al-Qaida and other Sunni Muslim terrorist groups, is reportedly mobilizing its military to enter Iraq and assist in repelling the onslaught of the al-Qaida offshoot that calls itself the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). As described in past Examiner news stories, the ISIS is considered even more brutal and merciless than the original al-Qaida.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is a brilliant move on Iran's part, making it far more difficult for the US to find an excuse to start war with Iran.

Iran signals intent to fight as two Iraqi towns fall

Militants who seized large swaths of Iraq's Sunni heartland with lightning advances this week have pushed into an ethnically mixed province and captured two towns northeast of Baghdad, officials said Friday as neighboring Shiite powerhouse Iran signaled its willingness to confront the growing threat.

The fresh gains by insurgents, spearheaded by fighters from the Al-Qaeda-inspired Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria, come as Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's Shiite-led government struggles to form a coherent response after the militants blitzed and captured the country's second-largest city of Mosul, Saddam Hussein's hometown of Tikrit, smaller communities, as well as military and police bases - often after meeting little resistance from state security forces.

Iran questions nuclear deal deadline as talks 'hit wall'

Iran, after talks with senior U.S. officials, questioned whether a July deadline for a nuclear deal with world powers will be met, fueling doubts on the outcome as France spoke out, saying talks on curbing Tehran's uranium enrichment had "hit a wall".

Iran's talks with six major powers on curbing its nuclear program in exchange for an end to Western sanctions could be extended for six months if no deal is reached by a July 20 deadline agreed by all parties, a senior Iranian official said.

While an extension is possible under the terms of the talks, experts believe both Iran and the international powers may face domestic political pressures to argue for better terms during this extra time period, further complicating negotiations.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The wild card in all of this is Israel, and if Israel believes it can make a calculated military multiple-strike against Iran's nuclear facilities with little repercussions, it will do so, if these talks do not reach an agreement by 20 July.

I would, however, like to politely remind the adults in the room in the Israeli government, that Russian officials have stated very openly that should Iran be attacked, Russia will come to its aid militarily; just one of those pesky little realities which the Israeli government may want to take into account when contemplating such a strike!!

Khamenei: American invasion not likely because of Iraq and Afghanistan failures

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday at a ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of Grand Ayatollah Khomeini’s death that an American attack is not likely because of the failures in Iraq and Afghanistan and instead seeks coups and colored revolutions.

Military action is not currently a priority for the US because of its losses in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, said Khamenei.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei; sir, were I a betting woman, I would not bet against this at this time.

IF what you are saying is absolutely true, why is the US trying so desperately to destabilize Syria, where President Al-Assad won very handily in what observers characterized as a free and fair election?

As you are well aware, the P5 +1 talks with Iran on its nuclear program have gotten bogged down on the issue of centrifuges, and the talks may well not reach a fruitful conclusion before the deadline of 20 July of this year.

In order to get approval to extend these talks, President Obama will have to go to Congress.

But sir, there I one thing I would bet you: every member of AIPAC is going to be all over Congressional Representatives, and pressuring them in every conceivable way NOT to let the talks continue.

And you understand just how intensely powerful this lobby is here in the US.

US-Israel War on Iran : The Myth of Limited Warfare

Israeli military experts confidently expect to polish off their Iranian targets in a few days – some might think a mere weekend - and perhaps without the loss of even a single pilot. US Blames Iran for Post-Quran Burning Violence in Afghanistan

The massive anti-US protests in the wake of the organized book burning at Bagram Air Base were the result of “anti-American provocation” by the Iranian government, according to US officials familiar with the situation.

According to the officials, the Iranian Embassy in Kabul has a “very active” program of fomenting dissent against the US occupation forces, and they seem convinced that the violent protests were entirely Iran’s fault.

The new take is an interesting one, particularly since the officials don’t seem to interpret the organized burning of large numbers of Qurans as any sort of proximate cause for the protests, and assume that the only reason Afghans would be riled up was Iranian spies told them to be.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And, forgive me for being logical here, but where is the hard evidence that such influence ever took place?!?

Apparently, according to the "logic" of these folks, the US and NATO atrocities visited upon the Afghan people lately, should never be enough to get them infuriated by what the US and NATO forces did.

And IF this were true, why isn't it sourced, either in terms of the US officials making the charge, or Iranian individuals actually doing the mischief?

Short answer: they won't source this story, because they can't source it!!

This kind of "invention" is simply more desperation on the cusp of madness, a desperate casting about for some "causus belli" for going into Iran militarily.

But I can assure those in the bowels of power in both DC and Tel Aviv, that neither the American nor the Israeli public are buying off on this!!!

Iran proposes Iraq, China as alternate venues to Turkey for nuclear talks with world powers

With nine days to go, Iran still has not agreed on a location for talks with world powers over its nuclear program, Western officials said Wednesday but suggested Istanbul remained the most likely venue.

Iran’s suggestions of alternative sites raised the possibility of complications to get talks under way as expected on April 13 between Iran and envoys from the five permanent U.N. Security Council members and Germany. It also could bring accusations of stall tactics by Iran’s leaders.

The possibility of other locations also was raised by Mohsen Rezaei, a former Revolutionary Guard commander and now spokesman of Iran’s Expediency Council. On Monday, he suggested Baghdad, Damascus, or Beirut, Lebanon.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have to wonder if the Iranian leadership has simply decided that these "talks" have been engineered to fail by the West, and that it is simply not worth their time to go, when a war against it appears to be the favored outcome already chosen by the US and Israel.

In Defense of Helen Thomas: What’s Wrong With History?

Helen Thomas’s recent request to purchase a table at the upcoming White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) annual dinner has been rejected.

In a comment on that story I said, “It’s hard to imagine anything more wrong than this.”

I base my opinion on the fact that the 91-year-old Thomas, a former WHCA president, is unique among American journalists, having covered 10 different presidential administrations in a career stretching back to Dwight Eisenhower.

It is because of Thomas as much as anyone else that women were first included at the WHCA dinner since, as the WHCA’s website mentions:

Britain's mad-house foreign policy

Stuart Littlewood highlights Britain's double standards and contradictory policies in the Middle East: on the one hand irrational belligerence and warmongering towards Iran even though this is contrary to British national interests, and on the other cosying up to and taking its cue from Israel, a criminal, aggressive state whose behaviour contradicts British values and interests.

Barak reveals Israel's conditions for Iran-West talks

Defense minister says strike not within weeks but can also not wait years, demands Iran surrender 20 percent-enriched uranium, close underground Fordow facility.

Israel is demanding that its allies set Iran's complete surrender of its stockpile of uranium enriched to 20 percent as one of the goals for the nuclear talks set to begin with the Islamic Republic in mid April.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is apparent that Israeli Defense Minister Barak, as well as US Secretary of State Clinton, is also doing his level best to insure the complete failure of these talks by issuing this ultimatum.

And by the way, Defense Minister Barak: the enrichment of uranium to 20% is to create medical isotopes with which to help people heal.

Barak: 2012 – year of the fight against Iran's nukes

Defense Minister Ehud Barak declared Wednesday that 2012 is "the year of the fight against the Iranian nuclear program."

In a meeting with military analysts and correspondents, Barak said that the economic and diplomatic sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic are working but that it has yet to be seen whether they will achieve a true compromise that will halt Tehran's nuclear program.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to Israeli Defense Minister Barak: the "big lie" technique kind of went out with the whoopee cushion and the dribble glass, sir.
Even your fellow and sister Israelis understand that you are not telling the truth about Iran's nuclear program.

So, here it goes for the zillionth time.

1. As a signatory to the NNPT, Iran is allowed to used nuclear technology for peaceful means, as it is doing now with its power station, with the help of Russian Technicians

2. To date, no IAEA inspection has proven that ANY nuclear materials have been diverted toward a weapons program. The Iranian scientists are enriching uranium to a 20% level to create medical isotopes; these are to help people heal, not blow people up.

3. The strictures and limitations US Secretary Clinton has put upon Iran's participation in upcoming talks have guaranteed that they have been engineered to fail: war against Iran is the outcome you want to see as a result of this failure.

4. Israel wants to see the US attack Iran, without Israeli involvement, if humanly possible. However, I would strongly caution the Israeli government that Americans are bloody sick, tired, and angry in the cost in American blood, and American money, Israel consistently demands this country place on the altar of ultimate Israeli hegemony in the Middle East.

5. There here will be absolutely no support of such an attack by the American people, for that very reason. And American military participation in such an attack may possibly not go at all well (particularly if such a war is prolonged) because the US government doesn't have the troop strength, the money, or the manufacturing to insure a successful outcome.

6. Israeli leadership has been playing fast and loose with the truth against their own people, assuring them that Israel will experience no more than 300 casualties as a result of such a military operation. But if the war gets prolonged, and is not a successful blitzkrieg, there could be massive risk to both Israeli lives, and Israeli assets.

7. Leaders from nuclear-armed Pakistan, China, and Russia, have gone public in stating that should Iran be attacked, they will come to its aid militarily.

7. So what we have here, should you and/or the Americans attack Iran, is the potential for a global, thermonuclear war over an alleged Iranian nuclear weapons program which, sir, to date, cannot be proven to exist.

Defense Minister Barak, I encourage you, and those in the bowels of DC and Tel Aviv, to please, be very, very careful about what you wish for here; you all may very well unleash catastrophic events by the pursuit of such a war which will result in unstoppable, catastrophically, unintended consequences.

Netanyahu: Iran Sanctions Aren't Working

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Tuesday that sanctions aimed at halting Iran’s nuclear enrichment program have failed to yield results.

"The sanctions are painful, hard… but will this bring about a halt or a retreat in the Iranian nuclear program? Until now, it has not happened," Netanyahu told reporters in Jerusalem.

"Will these difficulties cause the Iranian regime to stop its nuclear program? Only time will tell. I can't tell you if it will happen. I know there is hardship but there still hasn't been a change."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu: Iran's nuclear energy program is completely legal, under the terms and conditions of its being a signatory to the NNPT.

Also, as an NNPT signatory, Iran has its nuclear sites inspected by the IAEA on a consistent basis. To date, and I am talking about today, 4 April, 2012, no inspections have demonstrated that any nuclear material has been diverted to a nuclear weapons program.

On the other hand, Israel is a nuclear-armed country which refuses to become a signatory to the NNPT, and therefore refuses to allow inspections of its nuclear sites.

So could you possibly help me by reminding me, Mr. Prime Minister, just why the US is pouring billions of dollars into Israel in military and monetary aid annually, when it is illegal for this government to do so, under the Symington Amendment?!?

Iran has a nuclear energy program; it does not have any nuclear weapons, and is doing everything by the book to comply with their responsibilities as an NNPT signatory.

Israel, however, has nuclear weapons, but refuses to become a signatory to the NNPT, and US taxpayers still get bled dry for ILLEGAL military and monetary aid to Israel.

And to add insult to injury, Israel is goading the US toward an attack against Iran over an alleged nuclear weapons program which cannot, to date be proven to exist.

What's wrong with this picture?!? EVERYTHING.

Clinton Issues New Demands For ‘Commitments’ From Iran

Speaking today on ABC News, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton set the stage for the predicted failure of the mid-April P5+1 talks in Turkey. She issued a series of demands that were the condition for avoiding war with Iran.

Among those demands were a series of unspecified “concrete commitments from Iran,” including an explicit demand that they “come clean on its nuclear program.” This is in spite of the repeated reports from the US and Israeli intelligence communities that Iran has no nuclear weapons program.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to Secretary of State Clinton; as a signatory to the IAEA, giving the Iran the right to produce nuclear power for civilian uses, Iran has all of its nuclear facilities consistently inspected by the IAEA. And as of today's date, as of 4 April 2012, the IAEA has found utterly no evidence whatsoever that nuclear materials have been diverted toward a nuclear weapons program.

Iranian scientists have been enriching uranium to a 20% level, which is used in the creation of medical isotopes; this is about helping people heal, not blowing people up.

So, to date, neither the US, nor Israel, have a causus belli for a war against Iran. And yet that appears to be the apparent outcome toward which both countries are moving with all possible dispatch.

It is obvious, because the massive numbers of pre-conditions and strictures you have placed upon Iranian participation in the P5+1 talks next week, that you are quite set upon insuring that the talks will fail, utterly.

However, I would like to strongly caution regarding the following. The American people are sick, tired, and angry at the consistent Israeli demands for the sacrifice of American blood, and American money, upon the altar of ultimate Israeli hegemony in the Middle East.

And because of that reason, IF the US does support Israel in such an endeavor, there will be absolutely zero support on the part of the American people for it.

The Administration may well declare some sort of martial law to stifle dissent against it. But no imposition of law can change either people's minds, or their memories of the degree to which Israel was "cheerleading" for a US invasion and occupation of Iraq, their "existential enemy du jour" at the time.

Americans understand, without question, that the US invasion and occupation of Iraq was based on a pack of lies, and they can see just how well THAT little "military misadventure" went. Now, let's see; over one million Iraqis killed; thousands maimed and wounded for life, many experiencing aggressive cancers and birth defects from the use of depleted uranium weapons; thousands of American military personnel killed and maimed for life; and, oh yes, that little bit of "sticker shock", in the form of one trillion dollars added to the Federal deficit.

IF an attack against Iran is not a blitzkrieg, executed with deadly precision, such a war may be prolonged over time, putting both Israeli and American assets at substantial and sustained risk.

And there are several very compelling reasons as to why American participation in such a military endeavor here might not end well. To be brutally honest, the US government doesn't have the troop strength, the money, or the manufacturing to pursue a successful conclusion to such an attack, should the war be prolonged.

Also, as you are well aware, leaders in nuclear-armed Pakistan, Russia, and China have gone public, stating that should Iran be attacked, they will come to its aid militarily. So what we have here is the potential for a global thermonuclear war, over an alleged Iranian nuclear weapons program which cannot, to date, be proven to exist!!

In summation, Secretary Clinton, and to all your colleagues here and Israel, I would encourage you to please, be very, very careful about what you wish to be the outcome of any US/Israeli attack against Iran; the horrific, unintended consequences from such an attack may begin as unimaginable, and wind up as utterly uncontrollable.

Iran rial slides, 'dollar' text messages appear blocked

TEHRAN, Jan 10 (Reuters) - Iran's currency has slid 20 percent against the dollar in the last week despite central bank intervention, and Iranians concerned about the economy said on Tuesday attempts to send text messages using the word "dollar" appeared to be blocked.

The central bank reportedly pumped $200 million dollars into the market last Wednesday after new and much tougher U.S. sanctions prompted nervous Iranians to change rials into hard currency, accelerating a rise in the price of dollars on the open market.
