Israeli settlers take over 25 homes in E.Jerusalem: residents

Israeli settlers forcefully took over 25 apartments in Arab east Jerusalem Tuesday, residents and Palestinian leaders said, with the new occupants claiming they had legitimately bought the properties.

The incident led to clashes between Arab residents and Jewish settlers in the Silwan neighbourhood, which is right outside Jerusalem's Old City, near the flashpoint Al-Aqsa mosque compound.

It came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas traded inflammatory accusations at the UN General Assembly in New York, making the prospects of peace look even bleaker.

Mohammed al-Khayat, whose family owns three apartments in one Silwan building, told AFP settlers had broken the locks on empty properties and then changed them.

"ISIL crisis" plays right into Zionists hands

Rahm Emanuel, President Obama's first Chief of Staff – who also served as Obama's Israeli Mossad handler – famously said: "You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before."

Individuals, groups, whole industries, even nations sometimes take advantage of crises and catastrophes. Big bankers, for example, love war because it forces governments to borrow vast sums of money at compound interest. Arms manufacturers also make huge profits. And the big government always gets bigger during wartime as it confiscates people's wealth and scales back their rights.

‘Join the invisible to make the impossible’: Israel’s Mossad now recruits agents online

Israeli intelligence has given up to modern trends and introduced an online questionnaire for would-be spies. Unlike the businesslike CIA or MI5 web draft campaigns, Israelis are luring volunteers with mystery halo always shrouding Mossad’s activities.

Mossad has become one of the last intelligence agencies in the world that vouchsafed to recruiting volunteer spies online, facilitating the induction process for those who always wanted to be a secret agent, but considered it unattainable.

Joe Biden and the Ghost of Shylock

Napoleon once famously remarked that “in politics, stupidity is not a handicap.” In few cases does this seem more apt than in that of Vice-President Joe Biden, perennial lapdog to the ADL’s Abraham Foxman. Biden has recently added to last year’s faux pas by recently committing the egregious sin of using the word “Shylocks” to describe mortgage lenders. The slip came in a speech to the Legal Services Corporation, which provides lawyers to Americans who could not afford them otherwise. In his remarks, the Vice-President described the experience of his son, Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, who was deployed for one year in Iraq:

People would come to him and talk about what was happening to them at home in terms of foreclosures, in terms of bad loans that were being — I mean, these Shylocks who took advantage of these women and men while overseas.

G-77, China condemn coercive sanctions against Iran

In a resolution issued on the sidelines of the 69th annual session of the UN General Assembly in New York on Friday, foreign ministers of the Group of 77 plus China for the first time explicitly rejected as unacceptable the imposition of unilateral economic sanctions against Iran.

Such sanctions would have adverse consequences on the development of the Iranian nation, the resolution said, calling for the immediate removal of the bans.

The illegal US-engineered sanctions on Iran have been imposed based on the accusation that Tehran is pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program.

On Israel’s little-known concentration and labor camps in 1948-1955

Much of the grim and murky circumstances of the Zionist ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in the late 1940s have gradually been exposed over time. One aspect – rarely researched or deeply discussed – is the internment of thousands of Palestinian civilians within at least 22 Zionist-run concentration and labor camps that existed from 1948 to 1955. Now more is known about the contours of this historical crime, due to the comprehensive research by renowned Palestinian historian Salman Abu Sitta and founding member of the Palestinian resource center BADIL Terry Rempel.

The facts are these.

The study – to be published in the upcoming issue of the Journal of Palestine Studies – relies on almost 500 pages of International Committee of the Red Cross’s (ICRC) reports written during the 1948 war, that were declassified and made available to the public in 1996, and accidentally discovered by one of the authors in 1999.

Netanyahu plays the blame game at the UN to avoid responsibility for Israeli human rights violations

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, speaking at the UN General Assembly today, presented a black and white, and upside down world view in which aggressors are victims and human rights violators deserve applause. Consistent with his now predictable approach to diplomacy, Netanyahu deployed fear-mongering and Islamophobic language to deflect attention from Israel’s aggression in Gaza this summer, and its ongoing occupation and illegal siege of Palestinian civilians.

FLASHBACK - The Lavon Affair: When Israel firebombed U.S. Installations to make it appear attacks were by ‘Muslim extremists,’ and how the US media cover it up

In their 1979 book, The Untold History of Israel, Israeli journalists Jacques Derogy and Hesi Carmel relate that in 1954 Israel’s army intelligence section conceived a plan to attack British personnel seconded to King Hussein’s government in Jordan. The purpose was to sour relations between Britain and Jordan as well as between both Jordan and Britain on the one hand and Egypt, which would be blamed for such attacks.

Shortly afterward, the same Israeli army intelligence organization activated two networks of Egyptian Jews first established in 1948. These young people had been recruited in Egypt, secretly trained in Israel, and then sent back to their homes in Cairo and Alexandria to await orders to carry out acts of sabotage in case of war between Egypt and Israel.

The U.S. must stand up to Israel or exit the Israeli-Palestinian peace process

The Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, has been playing by America’s rules for years and received nothing for his efforts apart from empty promises. Unlike his fiery predecessor, Yasser Arafat, until now he’s adopted a non-combative, compromising stance and been taken to task by his Palestinian critics as being too compliant. But since Israel’s seven-week-long onslaught on Gaza that robbed so many innocent lives and left 10,000 families homeless, he’s put diplomatic-speak on the shelf, as evidenced by his no holds-barred speech at the United Nations General Assembly last week.

Israel PM warns Iran greater threat than IS jihadists

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Monday at the United Nations that a nuclear-capable Iran would pose the gravest threat to the world, far outstripping the jihadist terror from Iraq and Syria.

"Make no mistake, ISIS must be defeated," Netanyahu told the UN General Assembly, referring to the Islamic State group.

"But to defeat ISIS and leave Iran as a threshold nuclear state power is to win the battle and lose the war."

Netanyahu spoke a week after US President Barack Obama took to the UN podium to appeal for international support for the US-led coalition firing air strikes to defeat the IS jihadists.

The prime minister took a swipe at Iran's "smooth-talking" President Hassan Rouhani, accusing him of seeking a deal on Tehran's nuclear program without scrapping any bomb-making capacity.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And so, Israel's nuclear capabilities are absolutely no threat to the world, Prime Minister Netanyahu!?

And IF the US government had any male attributes whatsoever, it would follow the letter of its own law, because under the Symington Amendment, the US is forbidden to give either any any money or military aid to a country which has either a nuclear weapons program or nuclear energy program, but refuses to become a signatory to the NNPT, and refuses to allow its nuclear sites to be inspected.

Israel is such a country.

The US government breaks its own laws with impunity.

So why should civilians believe, for a second, that they need to obey any laws Congress passes?!?

The stench of these double standards stinks to high heaven.

Most Americans believe the United States is giving too much foreign aid to Israel according to an online survey. The American Public Opinion on U.S. Aid to Israel (PDF) survey was fielded via Google Consumer Surveys between September 26-29, 2014 as a necessary follow-up to the release of the influential Chicago Council on Global Affairs 2014 report. Middle East analysts eagerly await the biennial Chicago Council survey results and its frank reflections of American views about foreign policy toward the region. Many are surprised by Chicago Council’s conclusions that 64 percent of Americans prefer not to take sides in the Israel-Palestine conflict and that 55 percent would oppose sending U.S. troops to protect Israel if it struck Iran.

What is Israel’s endgame in Gaza? It is a question that has been puzzling analysts and observers for some time. But indications of the future Israel and Washington may have in mind for Gaza are emerging.

Two Bad Speeches — and Scant Hope for Peace

If you were the leader of your people and you really wanted to extend a hand to your enemy, you wouldn’t call him a racist. And genocidal. You probably wouldn’t want to say that this enemy assassinated thousands of children, devastated homes and schools and destroyed the dreams of a generation.
Note: Even if it is true?

Netanyahu tied Abbas to Hamas, and then asserted that Hamas is virtually identical to the rampaging, beheading Islamic terrorists known as ISIS (or, if you are President Obama, ISIL).. That’s a fine way to cut short dialogue over the future of Hamas-ruled Gaza. Or, for that matter, any dialogue with Abbas himself.

And just to add to the public chill between these two men, Netanyahu denied that Israel is occupying any land and, in a neat rhetorical flourish, reminded his listeners that Abbas “wrote a dissertation of lies about the Holocaust.” (That was in 1982, but no matter.)
Note: Even if it is not true?

US-led coalition against ISIL: Front for regime change

Listening to American and British leaders this week one would think that Barack Obama and David Cameron are knights in shining armor on an epic crusade to defeat global evil.

The campaign against IS is a front for the criminal agenda of regime change in Syria and the region. This real, criminal agenda should be exposed and condemned at every opportunity. To consort with this mob is to corrupt international law and morality.

Unbelievably, too many states seem to be going along with this ridiculous charade, as can be gleaned from the way Obama and Cameron’s posturing was indulged this week at the United Nations General Assembly.

Our final conclusion is this: Obama and Cameron are using simplistic moralizing rhetoric about “defeating evil” in order to: 1) conceal their own criminal legacy; 2) pressure the rest of the world into endorsing their presumed but ill-deserved authority; and 3) promote their criminal agenda of regime change under a moral cover.

First and foremost, Putin was never elected to be the world’s policeman or savior, he was only elected to be president of Russia. Seems obvious, but yet many seem to assume that somehow Putin is morally obliged to do something to protect Syria, Novorussia or any other part of our harassed world. This is not so. Yes, Russia is the de facto leader of the BRICS and SCO countries, and Russia accepts that fact, but Putin has the moral and legal obligation to care for his own people first.

Israeli Weapons Contaminate Palestinian Soil with Toxic Substances

TEHRAN (FNA)- The weapons used by Israel in its recent offensive on the Gaza Strip have contaminated the soil and water of the Palestinian enclave with toxic substances, making the farmlands useless, media reports said. Many farmlands in the Palestinian territory were destroyed by Israeli bombers and bulldozers during the 50-day war, press tv reported.

The agriculture sector’s loss is estimated at around $500 millions.

If Israel can ignore the IAEA, why should anyone else listen?

With accusations relating to weapons of mass destruction having been a large part of the US pretext for invading Iraq and Iran now facing heavy pressure over similar claims, the double standard involving the Jewish state which has steadfastly refused to sign the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) has become too obvious to ignore any longer.

None of this has deterred the Israelis, though, from speaking out against the alleged ambitions of others. In fact, Israel has been at the forefront of countries demanding that the IAEA get tough with Iran. The Israelis are not at all embarrassed that Tehran is a signatory to the NPT and they are not; nor does it bother them that no one thinks the Islamic Republic has nuclear weapons, while the Jewish state is estimated by experts to possess something in the order of 200-300 warheads, not to mention a variety of air-, land- and sea-based delivery systems.

Hundreds of American protesters, angered by Israel’s recent deadly assault on the Gaza Strip, gathered at the Port of Oakland to block an Israeli ship from unloading its cargo.

Workers with the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) refused to unload the Zim Shanghai as about 200 activists picketed outside several of the port’s gates on Saturday morning.

The cargo ship is managed by Israel's largest shipping firm, Zim Integrated Shipping Services.

About 50 police officers were also present at the port. The protesters said they would continue with their “Block the Boat” campaign.

FINDINGS OF THE RUSSELL TRIBUNAL ON CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY IN GAZA

The Russell Tribunal on Palestine’s Emergency Session on Israel’s Operation Protective Edge held yesterday in Brussels has found evidence of war crimes, crimes against humanity, crimes of murder, extermination and persecution and also incitement to genocide.

The Jury [1] reported: ‘The cumulative effect of the long-standing regime of collective punishment in Gaza appears to inflict conditions of life calculated to bring about the incremental destruction of the Palestinians as a group in Gaza.’

‘The Tribunal emphasises the potential for a regime of persecution to become genocidal in effect, In light of the clear escalation in the physical and rhetorical violence deployed in respect of Gaza in the summer of 2014, the Tribunal emphasises the obligation of all state parties to the 1948 Genocide Convention ‘to take such action under the Charter of the United Nations as they consider appropriate for the prevention and suppression of acts of genocide.’

Muslim Solidarity in the Middle East and the end of Jewish Serial Wars–The Real “Iranian Bomb” Israel Fears More Than Anything Else

'In other words, the danger from Iran as far as Israel’s continued existence is concerned is that through her cool, rational demeanor she provides stark contrast to the delusional, erratic, schizoid, mad-dog behavior displayed by Lady Gaga Israel on a daily basis. She provides the Arabs with a model to follow. She cultivates alliances and friendships with other world powers who give her a place of respect at the table of nations and does not have to prostitute herself in anyway to do this.

In short, Iran does not bow down before the beast and does not kiss the ring of the commission members of La Kosher Nostra as other nations around the world must if they are to remain “free”.

Obama Blasts Brutality and Bullying, but Not by Israel

When U.S. President Barack Obama addressed the U.N. General Assembly Wednesday, he was outspoken in his criticism of Russia for bullying Ukraine, Syria for its brutality towards its own people, and terrorists of all political stripes for the death and destruction plaguing Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Somalia.

But as the New York Times rightly pointed out, Obama made only a “fleeting” reference to Israel and Palestine in his 47-minute speech to the world body.

US criticizes Abbas' speech at UN General Assembly

State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said in a statement on Friday that Mahmud Abbas’ speech, in which he said Israel conducted a “war of genocide” in Gaza, was “offensive”.

Israel unleashed aerial attacks on Gaza in early July and later expanded its military campaign with a ground invasion into the Palestinian territory. Over 2,130 Palestinians lost their lives and some 11,000 were injured.

"Abbas' speech today included offensive characterizations that were deeply disappointing and which we reject," read the statement.

'Made in Palestine': New slogan for marketing Israeli products

Along one of the roads in the city of Ariha in the north of the occupied West Bank, merchants Khaldoun and Hassan regularly receive 30 tons of dates produced in the neighbouring Israeli agricultural settlements, in preparation for their transfer to one of the packaging factories built on the outskirts of the city, Anadolu news agency reported.

Inside the factory, about 13 miners (sic) are working on "screening" the dates and repackaging them in bags that read "dates of the Holy Land" in both Arabic and English and "Made in Palestine" in order to market them locally, in the Arab states and in Europe.

This is what one of the farms that is owned by Israeli settlers does in order to market its produce of dates to customers of European Union countries after the enforcement of a decision earlier this year to boycott any products of settlements in the West Bank.

The mostly pro-Israel Senate

The letter from a bipartisan grouping of pro-Israel senators including disparate figures — from Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) to Sen. As with the Menendez-Kirk sanctions bill, which had some 77 supporters including all Republicans but two (Rand Paul being one of them), there is a large block of senators willing and able to challenge Obama on Israel policy and take pains to repair the frayed U.S.-Israel relationship.

US elites are vulnerable to donor pressure on Israel question

Several recent articles have highlighted the importance of pro-Israel donors in influencing the political discourse at universities, in synagogues, and in U.S. elections. Here are several stories/incidents that underline the importance of pro-Israel money and even blackmail threats. I’m ranging over several years, but the pattern is clear; and as Lawrence Davidson points out near the end of these items, elites are particularly vulnerable to donor pressure, and elites are crucial to the lobby because Israel has lost the grass-roots. In fact, the battle is now raging inside elite opinion, which makes donors crucial.

Staged in response to Israel’s summertime military onslaught that killed more than 2,100 Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip, including more than 500 children, the action sought to protest “the UK economy’s ever growing military industrial cooperation with governments that flout international law,” GPAN explained in a press release.

He moves around the hospital, the smile never leaving his face. His boyish attitude is translated by his spontaneous hand gestures. During Israel’s 51-day war on the Gaza Strip, which ended on Aug. 28, Ibrahim and his brother Wassim, who lived in Deir al-Balah in the center of Gaza, left their house and were wounded by an Israeli airstrike, causing the loss of Ibrahim’s left leg and critical injuries to Wassim’s legs.

Wassim, 15, the eldest, was always passionate about soccer, until Israeli drones launched rockets and shattered his dreams with a permanent disability.

The U.S. attack on the IS in Syria will, as the NYT headlines express, have as little effect as such attacks have in Iraq. Without coordinating air attacks with a capable, available ground force like the Syrian army such strikes on IS will make no conceivable difference. Israel's number one baby name is MOHAMED - but authorities tried to fix annual official list to keep it secret

Mohamed has been revealed as the most popular baby name in Israel – despite authorities trying to keep it hidden from the annual official list.

The Population and Immigration Authority has this week published a list of the 10 most popular boys and girls names of those born in Israel this year.

However, it has omitted Arabic baby names from the list, including Mohamed which should have topped the boys' list and Ahmed which should have placed ninth.

Instead, the authority claims that the most commonly used Israeli boys' names over the last 12 months were: Yosef, Daniel, Uri, Itai, Omer, Adam, Noam, Ariel, Eitan, David.

Nowhere in its statement, which was released ahead of the Jewish New Year, did it note the fact that Arabic baby names had been withheld.

The Growing Phenomenon of Pro-Israeli Advocacy in Chinese Academia

Over the last decade, a network of loosely affiliated pro-Israeli organizations—embracing a number of think tanks, universities, lobbyist groups, foundations, activist-scholars as well as donors—have successfully established a foothold in Chinese academia. The aim of these groups in China has been to provide a platform for espousing hasbara—a Hebrew term for “explanation” denoting the utilization of diplomatic, media, and political mediums to clarify and defend Israel’s positions and actions—that would serve to re-shape Chinese academic perceptions of the Jewish state.

The logic underlying this advocacy is that it would eventually influence—given prevailing assumptions about the Chinese government’s reliance on the opinion of scholars and experts—the calculations of Chinese policymakers, nudging them toward positions more conducive to the preservation and maximization of Israeli interests over the long-term.

The political victimization of Steven Salaita, whose appointment as a tenured professor at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) was revoked because he tweeted outraged protests against the slaughter of Palestinian civilians in Gaza, is a chilling attack on core democratic rights, including freedom of speech and academic freedom.

The university administration and the University of Illinois Board of Trustees have justified the witch-hunt against Salaita in the name of “democracy,” “civility” and “pluralism.” This not only expresses the hypocrisy that pervades these institutions, it reflects the evisceration of all democratic principles and mechanisms within American capitalist society as a whole.

Peter King on ISIS: Be Ready for Attacks on US Soil

Intensifying U.S. airstrikes against the Islamic State (ISIS) could provoke members of the terror group already on U.S. soil to stage attacks here, Rep. Peter King tells Newsmax TV.

"First of all, these people would've attacked us anyway, but they may feel an urgency to do it now to show that ISIS can fight back, that ISIS is not going to take this," King, a New York Republican, said Tuesday on "The Steve Malzberg Show."

"We always have to be alert to them, [but] we have to be even more so now because they want to show . . . the Muslim world they're not going to sit back and take [it], they're going to fight back."

King, a member of the House Homeland Security Committee and chairman of the House Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, said he approves of intensified U.S. airstrikes against jihadists in the Middle East, although he wishes it had happened sooner.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to Congressional Representative Peter King: if in fact ISIS (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) is able to attack the mainland, it means that every bit of surveillance, crotch groping at the airport, and spying by this government, has led to absolutely no actionable intelligence to prevent this from happening.

Should that happen, every security agency in the USA, the CIA, the DHS, FBI, and NSA, and DIA, have all failed, collectively and spectacularly.

Telling It Like It Is On Israel

It’s high time growing numbers of critics speak out forthrightly.

Israeli high crimes against peace are too egregious to ignore.

It’s essential to maintain a steady drumbeat of truth. It’s crucial to enlist growing numbers to demand accountability.

Israel’s 20% Arab population is effectively disenfranchised. Their fundamental rights are systematically denied.

Their few Knesset members are treated like potted plants. Like enemies of the state.

They’re scorned. They’re denounced. They’re persecuted. They’re treated like fifth column threats.

Occupied Palestinians face daily state terror. Gaza’s blockade remains despite repeated Israeli promises to ease things.

It’s invaded, bombed and shelled preemptively at Israel’s discretion.

Palestinians are wrongfully blamed for Israeli high crimes against peace. West Bank communities face multiple daily incursions.

Israeli probes into possible Gaza war crimes draw criticism

Facing a United Nations investigation for possible war crimes committed during its recent military campaign in the Gaza Strip, Israel has launched probes of its own into suspected violations, hoping to ward off prosecution in international tribunals.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The killing of innocent women and children in Gaza, at UN schools to which the IDF had the GPS coordinates, allegedly to keep these people safe, is an abominable act of ethnic cleansing and a war crime, and these are the only possible logical interpretations of these actions, period, end of discussion.

And YES, the Israeli government should have to answer for those war crimes at the ICC in the Hague, period, end of discussion.

ISIS: Does President Obama Understand What He’s Getting Us Into?

Given the US’s wretched track record in the Middle East, including support for Israel’s recent massacre of innocents in Gaza, why would anyone here or abroad imagine yet another American military intervention would succeed when previous invasions, raids, bombing campaigns, occupations and economic sanctions have utterly failed?

The coming battle with Islamic State insurgents showcases American political immaturity, is emotionally driven and lacks a coherent political and military strategy. It is also unnecessary.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would suggest that Obama knows precisely what he is doing, but doesn't care about the consequences, in terms of loss of American life.

His faux populism aside, he has always, is, and will always be, the supreme tool of the corporations which vetted him, and put him into power twice.

And those corporations see war as a massive means for private profit. particularly those in the military industrial complex.

There is a wonderful line in the second Sherlock Homes movie where the Moriarty character states that (and this is a very loose re imagining) that when the war comes, he wants to be the person who controls both the bullets and the bandages.

And of course, banks love wars, because they have absolutely no scruples about to which countries they lend money, because it will all be paid back at interest (actually, paid back by the citizens of those countries waging war!).

Israel Part of US Anti-Syrian Coalition

It's unannounced. It's no secret. Israel is heavily involved. It's been so all along. It wants Assad ousted.

It bombs Syrian targets at its discretion. It supplies weapons to Islamic State terrorists and other extremist Takfiri fighters.

It treats their wounded in Israeli hospitals. It supplies other support overtly and covertly.

On Tuesday, Israel confirmed it shot down a Syrian Sukhoi 24 fighter jet aircraft. It used a surface-to-air missile against it.

Obama to host Netanyahu in White House

US President Barack Obama will be welcoming Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House for the first time in seven months.

The announcement about the October 1 meeting was made by the White House National Security Council spokeswoman on Monday night.

Caitlin Hayden said that the meeting will likely highlight the US-Israeli division over the Iranian negotiations.

Iran and the P5+1 group of countries – Russia, China, the United States, Britain, and France plus Germany – resumed the seventh round of their negotiations on the Iranian nuclear energy program in New York last week to reach a final agreement aimed at resolving the standoff over Tehran’s civilian nuclear work.

Did Israel help US by downing Syrian jet?

Today the US – backed by “moderate” Arab states like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and Jordan – started bombing territory in another sovereign state, Syria, without a UN Security Council resolution or a plausible argument that it is acting in self-defence. That makes it a crime of aggression, defined at Nuremberg as

“the supreme international crime differing only from other war crimes in that it contains within itself the accumulated evil of the whole.”

Internet anti-Semitism a ‘mortal danger,’ say MKs

Anti-Semitism on the net is “like a tsunami wave,” Knesset Immigration, Absorption and Diaspora Committee chairman MK Yoel Razbozov said during a Sunday hearing on online hate speech.

Razbozov called for countries to enact legislation restricting online hate, and warned that if Jews will not act to combat the spread of anti-Semitism online, they will eventually “find themselves in mortal danger.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Although Israel uses words like "anti-Semitism" and "hate", what they are really opposed to is freedom of speech, as exemplified by the below article revealing how the Smithsonian got hoaxed by some tiles and tricked into claiming that the presence of gas chambers at Treblinka had been proven. Israel loves to tell lies and declares that those who challenge such lies must be "jew haters." No, we are lie haters, and there is a difference. But the object lesson here is that Israel hates the American principle of freedom of speech, and Israel, far more than Al Qaeda or ISIS, is an enemy of the American way of life.

How Money Silences Criticism of Israel

Israel’s never-ending persecution of Palestinians is opening a chasm between the world’s public, which is growing disgusted by Israeli behavior, and Western elites who shy from criticism because of career fears and financial dependence, observes Lawrence Davidson.

Due to Israel’s brutal racism and repeated attacks on Palestinian civilians, it is losing popular support internationally. As this happens, the Zionists appear to be intensifying pressure on societal and political elites, particularly in the U.S. and other Western states, to maintain policies that support and protect Israel’s criminal behavior.

Anti-Zionism in the 21st Century

The essence of the Palestinian struggle is the battle against Zionism. It is a battle against its racism, against its murderous war crimes, against its insatiable territorial hunger, against its disdain for non-Jewish human rights, and against its devoted attempts to destroy Palestinian national identity. As voices of normalization are on the rise, and social media is invaded by paid pro-Zionist bloggers, there is an increased need for anti-Zionists to draw attention to the crimes committed by ‘Israel’, and to speak up against the ongoing media silence and the apologist activities of those misleadingly portraying themselves as ‘peace doves’. Let us first look briefly at the history of the anti-Zionist struggle, and then see where we stand today.

Israel prevents UN official from entering occupied Palestinian territories

The Israeli authorities have so far refused to grant access to a UN official planning to visit the occupied Palestinian territories (OPT) between 20 and 28 September, a UN statement said.

The new UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in the OPT, Indonesian diplomat Makarim Wibisono, is set to undertake his first official visit to the region this week.

The statement said that Wibisono will gather first-hand information on the current human rights situation in the OPT following the July-August Israeli war, which resulted in at least 1,473 Palestinian civilians killed, including some 501 children.

Sep 23 06:53

The U.N. says 7 in 10 Palestinians killed in Gaza were civilians. Israel disagrees.

GAZA CITY — The war in Gaza will now continue in a battle between databases to determine who was killed and why. The most contested number, the one that attracts the most stubborn insistence and ferocious rebuttal, is not the total fatalities on the Palestinian side, the more than 2,100 dead in the Gaza hostilities.

The controversy centers instead on the ratio of civilians to combatants, or as the Israelis call them “terrorist operatives.”
This number will help shape public opinion about the way the war was waged, its cost in human life and whether the hostilities were worth the casualties.

In its most recent count, the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reports that 2,104 Palestinians were killed in Gaza, including 1,462 civilians, among them 495 children and 253 women. Those U.N. numbers would mean that 69 percent of the total killed were civilians.

Israel sprays "skunk water" into Palestinian homes

A new report highlights Israel’s use of supposedly “non-lethal weapons” against unarmed Palestinian protesters. The report – “Proven Effective: Crowd control weapons in the Occupied Territories” – was published by the group Who Profits and launched at a conference in Jerusalem on 10 September.

Focusing on tear gas, skunk water and “The Scream” (a high volume acoustic device strapped atop Israeli military vehicles), the report documents their regular use to violently crush unarmed Palestinian demonstrators throughout the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

It begins by reiterating two immensely important facts reported time and again by The Electronic Intifada: firstly, that Israel’s “non-lethal” weapons, in fact, often kill Palestinians, and secondly, that the manufacturing of weapons used against Palestinians is an extremely lucrative business

Eric Cantor Subpoenaed in Israel-China Terror Finance Suit

It’s been a few months of jarring ups and downs for former Majority Leader Eric Cantor and the Observer has exclusively learned that a new challenge is heading his way.

But now, the Observer has exclusively learned that Mr. Cantor is being subpoenaed to a deposition in a case against the Bank of China. Meanwhile, the bank — and possibly the highest level of Israeli government — are frantically trying to block the former Congressman from testifying.

The US designedly engenders political-diplomatic conflict wherever it goes and whenever it can, not because it is integrally infantile or churlish, but because its geopolitical strategy of divide-and-conquer is integral to its ambition for unilateral global hegemony. Even divide-and-conquer is mere surface, the instrumental framework within which to realize an ideological deeply-ingrained counterrevolutionary ethos and world posture, the half-century thread of anticommunism never lost and recently transmuted into a doctrine of permanent war tightly attached to counterterrorism.

Snowden Reveal Makes Israeli Spies' Protest An American Issue

Last Friday, 43 veteran and reserve members of Israel's secretive spy organization, Unit 8200, claimed they'd been directed to spy on Palestinians for coercion purposes.

The group signed an open letter of protest to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and to the head of the Israeli army, accusing the spy agency of targeting innocent Palestinians and collecting data for political purposes, not national security. Dubbed the "refusniks," the veterans declared that they had a "moral duty" to no longer "take part in the state's actions against Palestinians."

The source of much of the Israeli data may be the U.S. National Security Agency. Author and journalist James Bamford interviewed NSA leaker Edward Snowden in Moscow this summer. Bamford tells NPR's Arun Rath that Snowden was eager to discuss documents that show a U.S. agreement to routinely share information with Israel and Unit 8200.

Report: US Sending Indirect Military Aid to Hezbollah

The United States has reportedly sent indirect military aid to the Hezbollah terrorist organization, according to information released in a New York Times interview with Hezbollah public relations liaison Mohammed Afif.

The aid, which came in the form of new weapons, was channeled via the Lebanese Army, which closely coordinates with the Hezbollah terrorist group, according to Afif. In addition, U.S. intelligence is being channeled to Hezbollah as well, according to Lebanese sources. This would explain how the terrorist organization was able to pinpoint its first UAV bombing so precisely against the Al Qaeda-linked Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group, which is not associated with the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terror group and which in fact currently is fighting against the organization. Al Qaeda has denounced ISIS as “too brutal.”

Arsonists torch car of Rabbi who spoke out over Israel's military action in Gaza

Arsonists have torched the car of a Rabbi who spoke out over Israel's military action in Gaza. Firebugs poured petrol over Ahron Cohen's Volvo estate before setting fire to the vehicle outside his home.
They first attached a makeshift fuse to the fuel tank, but when it failed to ignite they returned a few minutes later and used a can of petrol to start the fire.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze outside Mr Cohen's home in the early hours. No one was hurt but the car was destroyed. Police are now investigating the arson in Broughton, Salford, the latest in a series of attacks on Mr Cohen's house and car over seven years. The Volvo 940 has previously been scratched and had its windows smashed, while eggs have been thrown at his house. Ending Israeli occupation starts with removing the Palestinian Authority

Since the death of former Palestinian Authority President, Yasser Arafat, Fatah and the Palestinian Authority has, and continues to be a detriment to the Palestinian struggle for self-determination. Palestine: Israel’s Arms Testing Lab

Israel had turned Palestinian occupied territories, especially Gaza Strip, into a laboratory for refining, testing and showcasing its own weapons systems as well as other countries’ new experimental and illegal weapon systems. Israel is satisfying the military testing needs of mainly western hegemonic states, thus guaranteeing their political support to gain immunity for its continuous war crimes against Palestinians. These hegemonic states would not exert any real pressure on Israel to give up the Palestinian occupied territories or to finalize or accept any peace negotiations with Palestinians or with any Arab state.

Naive? At a Jewish spiritual retreat center, I insist on talking about Gaza

And so it was at my discussion group. I tried to talk facts in vain; no-one was listening. A vicious hasbara indoctrination had overtaken these people’s minds and shuttered their ability to think. A woman explained that Israel was a small, weak, oppressed country surrounded by hostile Arab states who would throw all the Jews into the sea at their first chance. When I pointed out that Israel was the world’s fourth most powerful military force, with a substantial nuclear arsenal, and with allies like Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and of course America, she shouted me down. In a sickening reversal of reality, these people viewed Israel as the innocent victim and the Palestinians as demonic aggressors. In this twilight zone nothing made sense, facts were irrelevant, black was white, up was down.

The gas-chamber of Sobibor

It seems that after only seventy years of searching they've finally found a gas-chamber.

This one's at Sobibor and they know it's a gas-chamber because its got walls and anyway, they found a Jewish wedding ring near it.

Personally, I don't much care if it is a gas-chamber or not. The Holocaust, as peddled, is a load of godless nonsense and I want nothing to do with it.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is important to remember that the Archaeologist claiming this ":discovery" is the same one who went to Treblinka after ground penetrating radar failed to find any trace of the mass graves that are supposed to be there and insisted her radar found the graves, but never actually released the raw data to support the claim. Likewise, what she has fount at Sobibor are the remains of a room of undetermined use.

When structural materials are exposed to cyanide, they turn a bright blue color called (not unexpectedly) cyan. Any room in which cyanide gas is used is stained with the color ... which is notably absent from the photos of the room in this article, not to mention all of the other foundations and walls declared to be "proof" of the gas chambers.

Israel has a long history of twisting archaeology to suit their agenda (just as the US distorts climate science to sell us a carbon tax).

You have all been fed the legend of Masada, the last desperate stand of the Israelites against the Romans and how they all killed themselves rather than be taken prisoners. It's a nice story to evade the fact thast they lost their war, but what is not made public is that artifacts from the graves found at Masada indicate they are Roman, not Hebrew bodies.

Another example of politically driven "science" is the case of Oded Golan, accused of faking major artifacts including the Jehoash Tablet, supposedly from King Solomon's Temple, and the James Ossuary. While scientists (including many in Israel) denounced the artifacts as obvious fakes, the Israeli courts declared Oded innocent and the objects genuine, even though police had found a workshop full of partially completed fakes in Golan's home when he was arrested.
