Re-Evaluating Germany's Blind Faith in the Sun

The costs of subsidizing solar electricity have exceeded the 100-billion-euro mark in Germany, but poor results are jeopardizing the country's transition to renewable energy. The government is struggling to come up with a new concept to promote the inefficient technology in the future.

What would make solar viable is solar cells approaching 100% conversion efficiency. Too bad we blew $100 trillion keeping the Wall Street money junkies out of prison for the mortgage-backed securities fraud, because we could sure have used that cash to do some basic research!
