A TERRORIST SPEAKS OF ISIS AND HAMAS IN ONE BREATH

The rise of ISIS and its rivalry with other groups does pose a challenge but in a less direct way than Netanyahu suggests. In a visit earlier this month to Jordan, I found Da’ash (as ISIS is known according to its Arabic acronym) on everybody’s lips regardless of an individual’s political affiliation. Those of an Islamist bent regarded the upstart as a challenge and a rival, not an ally.

Negotiations, Rhetoric and Israel’s Lies

As Israel violates the conditions of the current cease-fire, and Palestine adheres to its part of the bargain, Prime Murder Benjamin Netanyahu continues to proclaim that he will not negotiate with Palestine due to that government’s recent unification. The Palestinian Authority and Hamas, after several years of operating independently, have settled their major differences. Israel will not negotiate, it says, because Hamas’ charter calls for the destruction of Israel. The irony of this is perhaps lost on members of the corrupt U.S. governance body, generally known as Congress, the president and the judiciary.

Palestinian official likens Netanyahu to ISIS leader

A senior Palestinian official on Tuesday likened Benjamin Netanyahu to the leader of the Islamic State group, after the Israeli prime minister compared Hamas to the jihadist organisation.

"Netanyahu is trying to disseminate fear of the Islamic State led by Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, but Netanyahu forgets that he himself leads the Jewish state," said Saeb Erakat, the Palestinians' chief negotiator in peace talks with Israel.

"He wants us to call Israel the Jewish state and supports terrorist settlers who kill, destroy and burn mosques and churches... like Baghdadi's men kill and terrorise," Erakat told AFP.

Ex-US Attorney General slams Israel's crimes against Palestinians

Former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark has roundly condemned the atrocities carried out by Israel against the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Clark made the remarks during a gathering organized by Tunisia's Center for Strategic Studies for North Africa. The gathering was attended by international lawyers, politicians and activists, Press TV reported Wednesday.

"Now we have seen this incredible assault on Gaza," Clark said, adding that Israel’s military campaign on the territory killed the Palestinians while "ignoring every value of every civilized people in history." "The children lives are worthless. Five hundred children dead for no reason," he noted.

The Greater Gaza Plan: Is Israel trying to force Palestinians into Sinai?

What is Israel’s endgame in Gaza? It is a question that has been puzzling analysts and observers for some time. But indications of the future Israel and Washington may have in mind for Gaza are emerging.

Desperately overcrowded, short on basic resources like fresh water, blockaded for eight years by Israel, with its infrastructure intermittently destroyed by Israeli bombing campaigns, Gaza looks like a giant pressure cooker waiting to explode.

It is difficult to imagine that sooner or later Israel will not face a massive upheaval on its doorstep. So how does Israel propose to avert a scenario in which it must either savagely repress a mass uprising by Palestinians in Gaza or sit by and watch them tear down their prison walls?

Israeli official: The upcoming war on Gaza will be greater

Israeli occupation military officer said that "the upcoming war on Gaza will be greater, and will down more victims," Israeli sources say.

Eyal Eizenberg, Israeli Occupation Army Home Front Command, in a lecture in The Institute for National Security Studies (Tel Aviv University), said that "the recent assault on Gaza is not at all similar to the upcoming war that the Israeli army is preparing for."

Eizenberg added that "the future war will require stronger abilities and more sacrifices to pay a bigger price."

Finally he added that "the main lesson we got from the Gaza assault was represented in the necessity of readiness of the home front, and the ability to provide services to the people in cases of emergency."

Israeli settlers take over 25 homes in E.Jerusalem: residents

Israeli settlers forcefully took over 25 apartments in Arab east Jerusalem Tuesday, residents and Palestinian leaders said, with the new occupants claiming they had legitimately bought the properties.

The incident led to clashes between Arab residents and Jewish settlers in the Silwan neighbourhood, which is right outside Jerusalem's Old City, near the flashpoint Al-Aqsa mosque compound.

It came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas traded inflammatory accusations at the UN General Assembly in New York, making the prospects of peace look even bleaker.

Mohammed al-Khayat, whose family owns three apartments in one Silwan building, told AFP settlers had broken the locks on empty properties and then changed them.

On Israel’s little-known concentration and labor camps in 1948-1955

Much of the grim and murky circumstances of the Zionist ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in the late 1940s have gradually been exposed over time. One aspect – rarely researched or deeply discussed – is the internment of thousands of Palestinian civilians within at least 22 Zionist-run concentration and labor camps that existed from 1948 to 1955. Now more is known about the contours of this historical crime, due to the comprehensive research by renowned Palestinian historian Salman Abu Sitta and founding member of the Palestinian resource center BADIL Terry Rempel.

The facts are these.

The study – to be published in the upcoming issue of the Journal of Palestine Studies – relies on almost 500 pages of International Committee of the Red Cross’s (ICRC) reports written during the 1948 war, that were declassified and made available to the public in 1996, and accidentally discovered by one of the authors in 1999.

Netanyahu plays the blame game at the UN to avoid responsibility for Israeli human rights violations

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, speaking at the UN General Assembly today, presented a black and white, and upside down world view in which aggressors are victims and human rights violators deserve applause. Consistent with his now predictable approach to diplomacy, Netanyahu deployed fear-mongering and Islamophobic language to deflect attention from Israel’s aggression in Gaza this summer, and its ongoing occupation and illegal siege of Palestinian civilians.

The U.S. must stand up to Israel or exit the Israeli-Palestinian peace process

The Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, has been playing by America’s rules for years and received nothing for his efforts apart from empty promises. Unlike his fiery predecessor, Yasser Arafat, until now he’s adopted a non-combative, compromising stance and been taken to task by his Palestinian critics as being too compliant. But since Israel’s seven-week-long onslaught on Gaza that robbed so many innocent lives and left 10,000 families homeless, he’s put diplomatic-speak on the shelf, as evidenced by his no holds-barred speech at the United Nations General Assembly last week.

Israeli Weapons Contaminate Palestinian Soil with Toxic Substances

TEHRAN (FNA)- The weapons used by Israel in its recent offensive on the Gaza Strip have contaminated the soil and water of the Palestinian enclave with toxic substances, making the farmlands useless, media reports said. Many farmlands in the Palestinian territory were destroyed by Israeli bombers and bulldozers during the 50-day war, press tv reported.

The agriculture sector’s loss is estimated at around $500 millions.
"Almost 5,000 acres of finest and most productive green land and farms are destroyed. More than 300 roads are destroyed in addition to the ruined irrigation networks and water catchments. These all have contributed to the soil pollution, which threatens our lives now," Gazan Agriculture Minister Nazir Wahidi said.

FINDINGS OF THE RUSSELL TRIBUNAL ON CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY IN GAZA

The Russell Tribunal on Palestine’s Emergency Session on Israel’s Operation Protective Edge held yesterday in Brussels has found evidence of war crimes, crimes against humanity, crimes of murder, extermination and persecution and also incitement to genocide.

The Jury [1] reported: ‘The cumulative effect of the long-standing regime of collective punishment in Gaza appears to inflict conditions of life calculated to bring about the incremental destruction of the Palestinians as a group in Gaza.’

‘The Tribunal emphasises the potential for a regime of persecution to become genocidal in effect, In light of the clear escalation in the physical and rhetorical violence deployed in respect of Gaza in the summer of 2014, the Tribunal emphasises the obligation of all state parties to the 1948 Genocide Convention ‘to take such action under the Charter of the United Nations as they consider appropriate for the prevention and suppression of acts of genocide.’

'Made in Palestine': New slogan for marketing Israeli products

Along one of the roads in the city of Ariha in the north of the occupied West Bank, merchants Khaldoun and Hassan regularly receive 30 tons of dates produced in the neighbouring Israeli agricultural settlements, in preparation for their transfer to one of the packaging factories built on the outskirts of the city, Anadolu news agency reported.

Inside the factory, about 13 miners (sic) are working on "screening" the dates and repackaging them in bags that read "dates of the Holy Land" in both Arabic and English and "Made in Palestine" in order to market them locally, in the Arab states and in Europe.

This is what one of the farms that is owned by Israeli settlers does in order to market its produce of dates to customers of European Union countries after the enforcement of a decision earlier this year to boycott any products of settlements in the West Bank.

How Israel brought Gaza to the brink of humanitarian catastrophe

The only way to make sense of Israel's senseless war in Gaza is through understanding the historical context. Establishing the state of Israel in May 1948 involved a monumental injustice to the Palestinians. British officials bitterly resented American partisanship on behalf of the infant state. On 2 June 1948, Sir John Troutbeck wrote to the foreign secretary, Ernest Bevin, that the Americans were responsible for the creation of a gangster state headed by "an utterly unscrupulous set of leaders". I used to think that this judgment was too harsh but Israel's vicious assault on the people of Gaza, and the Bush administration's complicity in this assault, have reopened the question.

Telling It Like It Is On Israel

It’s high time growing numbers of critics speak out forthrightly.

Israeli high crimes against peace are too egregious to ignore.

It’s essential to maintain a steady drumbeat of truth. It’s crucial to enlist growing numbers to demand accountability.

Israel’s 20% Arab population is effectively disenfranchised. Their fundamental rights are systematically denied.

Their few Knesset members are treated like potted plants. Like enemies of the state.

They’re scorned. They’re denounced. They’re persecuted. They’re treated like fifth column threats.

Occupied Palestinians face daily state terror. Gaza’s blockade remains despite repeated Israeli promises to ease things.

It’s invaded, bombed and shelled preemptively at Israel’s discretion.

Palestinians are wrongfully blamed for Israeli high crimes against peace. West Bank communities face multiple daily incursions.

Anti-Zionism in the 21st Century

The essence of the Palestinian struggle is the battle against Zionism. As voices of normalization are on the rise, and social media is invaded by paid pro-Zionist bloggers, there is an increased need for anti-Zionists to draw attention to the crimes committed by ‘Israel’, and to speak up against the ongoing media silence and the apologist activities of those misleadingly portraying themselves as ‘peace doves’. Let us first look briefly at the history of the anti-Zionist struggle, and then see where we stand today.

Israel prevents UN official from entering occupied Palestinian territories

The Israeli authorities have so far refused to grant access to a UN official planning to visit the occupied Palestinian territories (OPT) between 20 and 28 September, a UN statement said.

The new UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in the OPT, Indonesian diplomat Makarim Wibisono, is set to undertake his first official visit to the region this week.

The statement said that Wibisono will gather first-hand information on the current human rights situation in the OPT following the July-August Israeli war, which resulted in at least 1,473 Palestinian civilians killed, including some 501 children.

Zionism and the US educational elites

Donor blackmail Silences Criticism of Israel

Donor blackmail is the last front line for the Zionists as they continue to suffer defeats in the battle for public opinion.

Due to Israel’s brutal racism and repeated attacks on Palestinian civilians, it is losing popular support internationally. As this happens, the Zionists appear to be intensifying pressure on societal and political elites, particularly in the U.S. and other Western states, to maintain policies that support and protect Israel’s criminal behavior.

If you cannot win by debate, how do you combat the growing popular suspicion of Israeli and Zionist actions? You do it by pressuring the donor-dependent elite leadership of institutions, such as universities and colleges, to suppress and punish those who criticize Israel.

Their vehicle for achieving this goal has always been financial gifts and donations to elite individuals and institutions.

Israeli Propaganda Campaign Fails To Hide Web of Lies

In corporate jargon, Israel’s assault on Gaza is akin to that of a monopoly which undertakes unfair business practices to crush a small competitor’s attempt to increase its market share.

At the heart of Operation Protective Edge is a top-down marketing plan, implemented by Israeli ‘Chief Executive’ Benjamin Netanyahu, which seeks to disguise Israeli crimes, whilst profiting financially from the bankruptcy of Gaza.

Silliest Nobel Peace Prize Awarded

The world had hoped President Obama would deliver on his promises of peace and reconciliation and CHANGE the deeply dysfunctional system and its figureheads, when he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in advance.

I had hoped Obama was demonstrating perhaps more obviously than his predecessors just how captive the American President is of his Washington influence groups and their representatives, both Hill and Lobby. He was making himself visibly trapped in the oligarchy.

It was wishful thinking. I think true public servants are few and far in between. In fact, I doubt that such has ever really existed, except in the scripts of Political advisor’s, campaign managers and the fantasies of the electorate.

Ending Israeli occupation starts with removing the Palestinian Authority

Since the death of former Palestinian Authority President, Yasser Arafat, Fatah and the Palestinian Authority has, and continues to be a detriment to the Palestinian struggle for self-determination. Notwithstanding the fact that the problem started to surface after Arafat embraced the "peace process" and the avenue of "negotiations" with the introduction of the Oslo Accords, the Palestinian Authority is riddled with corruption; manifesting itself more and more as a clearly co-opted leadership that serves no Palestinian interest.

Palestine: Israel’s Arms Testing Lab

Israel had turned Palestinian occupied territories, especially Gaza Strip, into a laboratory for refining, testing and showcasing its own weapons systems as well as other countries’ new experimental and illegal weapon systems. Israel is satisfying the military testing needs of mainly western hegemonic states, thus guaranteeing their political support to gain immunity for its continuous war crimes against Palestinians. These hegemonic states would not exert any real pressure on Israel to give up the Palestinian occupied territories or to finalize or accept any peace negotiations with Palestinians or with any Arab state.

Naive? At a Jewish spiritual retreat center, I insist on talking about Gaza

And so it was at my discussion group. I tried to talk facts in vain; no-one was listening. A vicious hasbara indoctrination had overtaken these people’s minds and shuttered their ability to think. A woman explained that Israel was a small, weak, oppressed country surrounded by hostile Arab states who would throw all the Jews into the sea at their first chance. When I pointed out that Israel was the world’s fourth most powerful military force, with a substantial nuclear arsenal, and with allies like Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and of course America, she shouted me down. In a sickening reversal of reality, these people viewed Israel as the innocent victim and the Palestinians as demonic aggressors. In this twilight zone nothing made sense, facts were irrelevant, black was white, up was down.

Obama Launches His War, Finally

Obama’s presidency has come full circle by reinventing the neocon dogmas it once professed to reject. On the pretext of fighting the IS, which the US and its allies created in the first instance, what is unfolding is a massive neocon project to remold the Muslim Middle East to suit the US’ geopolitical objectives. Call it by whatever name, it is an imperial war – albeit with a Nobel as commander-in-chief.

The US will pit Muslims against Muslims in a grim war through the deployment of ‘smart power’, which would ensure that American casualties are avoided.

The strategy is built on three pillars – firstly, setting well-defined limits to the actual American intervention in military terms, secondly, resuscitating the ‘regime change’ agenda in Syria and, thirdly, dispensing with any mandate from the United Nations. In essence, it becomes a repackaged version of the crudely unilateralist US intervention in the Middle East by the George W. Bush administration.

Pro-Israel Students Hope To Shame Mahmoud Abbas With Empty Seats

Jewish student groups are planning protests against Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at a speech in New York City this Monday night — including a push to create swaths of empty seats at the event.

The students, who say that Abbas often sugarcoats his anti-Israel rhetoric when addressing English-speaking audiences, hope to reserve seats for the event at the Cooper Union, then not show up.

Ruthie Lehmann, a Jewish senior at New York University, called Abbas’s planned speech a “disgrace,” especially given the large Jewish student population at Cooper Union, a design school in Manhattan’s East Village.

The Zionist Organization of America students group is also protesting the speech, according to the Zach Stern, the group’s Northeast campus coordinator who provided educational pamphlets for the protest.

The norms proper to a true democracy obligate the state to take steps to promote equality of opportunity and implement a policy of narrowing the gaps in land allocations. THE US IS GUILTY OF CRIMES IN GAZA … BUT NOT YET CHARGED

The U.S. is not a neutral mediator in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict; it is an active participant and is guilty of the crimes being committed by Israel against Palestinians, most recently, the mass killings and destruction Israel wrought on the Gaza Strip during the summer. The reality that the U.S. is an active supporter of unimaginable suffering may very well be the motivating force behind the U.S.’s adamant attempts to block the Palestinians from using any of the internationally recognized tools of accountability to hold Israel responsible, such as the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court. When an indigenous, stateless population is blocked access to opportunities for justice by superpowers like the U.S., something is wrong—deadly wrong.

Ceasefire? A hollow victory indeed

There was more bad news for Israel. The IDF launched a major air and ground military offensives and did not come close to destroying its adversaries’ leadership, organization, military capabilities and alliances. During the seven weeks of brutal attacks against the densely-populated civilian centers, Israel managed to put the Palestinian issue back on the Arab map, draw unprecedented global censure, and give wings to the Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions (BDS) campaign to undermine Israel’s economy. Israel also managed to unify Palestinian political parties across the board – a minor miracle – and make regional heroes out of the “Palestinian Resistance.” With every lash of Israel’s whip, Palestinians found new determination to break the siege of Gaza and end Israel’s occupation.

Malta sinking killed hundreds fleeing Gaza

Time – and the news – moves on. Quickly. So, with the war over, Gaza remains in the news but off the front pages. ISIS has now taken the lead.

Still every now and then an interesting reminder of the Gaza war surfaces. In this case, by drowning. At first it seemed that the boat deliberately sunk off the Malta coast last week was another case of human trafficking gone from bad to worse. Horrible but unrelated to Israel/Palestine. Now reports have it that 250-300 of as many as 500 drowned were refugees from Gaza. They were attempting to escape what is left of the prison walls in Gaza.

Jewish State and Islamic State, Like Breeds Like

When the US and its allies say they are doing what is right by humanity, and by their values, the question begging to be asked is where is their humanity and values in regard to the Palestinian people, and why are they not equally doing what is right by humanity, and by their values towards “the Jewish State” and its aggression, crimes and gross violations of human rights, international law and resolutions? — Ali Kazak(former Palestinian ambassador to Australia, New Zealand, Vanuatu, East Timor and the South Pacific region)

The US behaves like a lion and a superpower with Russia, China and other countries but like a pussy cat and a banana republic when dealing with Israel.

US President Barack Obama said in his recent speech broadcast live to the nation “This is American leadership at its best: We stand with people who fight for their own freedom. And we rally other nations on behalf of our common security and common humanity.” He should try saying this to the Palestinian people.

If the UK recognises Palestine, so will others

The recent announcement by the Israeli government that it is expropriating another 1,000 acres of the West Bank has only reinforced in the minds of many that the Israel-Palestine conflict is stuck in an impasse. Israeli intelligence veterans refuse to serve in Palestinian territories

Forty-three veterans of one of Israel’s most secretive military intelligence units – many of them still active reservists – have signed a public letter refusing to serve in operations involving the occupied Palestinian territories because of the widespread surveillance of innocent residents.

Staring at them from their TV, laptop, phone, is proof of the barbarism of the Israeli state and the great destructive force of its mentor and provider, the United States, the cowardice of European governments, and the collusion of others, such as Canada and Australian, in this epic crime.

The attack on Gaza was an attack on all of us. The siege of Gaza is a siege of all of us. The denial of justice to Palestinians is a symptom of much of humanity under siege and a warning that the threat of a new world war is growing by the day.

Generating Fear through Lies and Hypocrisy: a Reply to Dershowitz’ Pathological Tirade

The sad truth is that Alan Dershowitz, like the black garbed hangman working for ISIS, like the unseen trained sniper hiding on the roof top in a Gazan village protected by the captured family to use as security insurance against a Hamas militant, like the pilot of the F-16 releasing his missiles, like any and all who justify criminal acts for their own selfless ends or through forced indoctrination serve those in power and become in fact figures made of mud like the Golem of old Prague, but a servant of their master, lacking a soul and made indifferent to their fellow humans. For Dershowitz that very loss of his humanity is perhaps his greatest gift.

Gaza and the Threat of World War

On 31 July, the National Defense Panel in Washington published a remarkable document that called for the United States to prepare to fight six major wars simultaneously. At the top of the list were Russia and China – nuclear powers.

In one sense, a war against Russia has already begun. While the world watched horrified as Israel assaulted Gaza, similar atrocities in eastern Ukraine were barely news. At the time of writing, two Ukrainian cities of Russian-speaking people – Donetsk and Luhansk – are under siege: their people and hospitals and schools blitzed by a regime in Kiev that came to power in a putsch led by neo-Nazis backed and paid for by the United States. The coup was the climax of what the Russian political observer Sergei Glaziev describes as a 20-year “grooming of Ukrainian Nazis aimed at Russia”. Actual fascism has risen again in Europe and not one European leader has spoken against it, perhaps because the rise of fascism across Europe is now a truth that dares not speak its name.

Intense reactions to come after Abbas withdraws ICC application, analysts

Analysts expect strong reactions from the Palestinian public and from within the ruling elite if reports of Abbas withdrawing an application to join the ICC are confirmed

Evidence growing that Hamas used residential areas

"Gaza, from Beit Hanoun in the north to Rafah in the south, is one uninterrupted urban chain that Israel has turned into a war zone," said Ghazi Hamad, a senior Hamas official in Gaza.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel declared war against a residential area then complains when those who fought back did so from within a residential zone. This article is intended to counter the UN's investigation into Israel's bombing of UN schools, justified with a video now known to have been 5 years old!

POST 9/11 ~~ THE FORBIDDEN PHOTOS ON MY FATHER’S PRISON WALL

My father, Ghassan Elashi, is currently serving a 65-year-prison-sentence at the Communications Management Unit in Marion, Illinois for conspiracy to send Material Support in the form of humanitarian aid to charities in the West Bank and Gaza that prosecutors claimed were associated with designated terrorists; our biggest defense thus far (and the reason my father may be vindicated in due time) is that his charity, the Holy Land Foundation, used the same exact Palestinian charities that our own government agency –the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)–used to distribute its aid.

Israeli Navy Boats Open Fire At Palestinian Fishermen In Gaza

The fishermen had to return to the shore without being able to fish despite the fact that they were not only in Palestinian waters, but also very close to the shore.

Under the ceasefire agreement, the fishermen are supposed to be allowed to fish within twelve nautical miles off the Gaza shore, but are continuously attacked by the navy ships.

Israeli war jets have also been heavily flying over different areas of the Gaza Strip.

Israel also continues to violate the ceasefire agreement, with repeated limited invasions into border areas, and bulldozing agricultural lands, especially in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the coastal region.

The army also continues to attack local farmers and workers in Palestinian lands, close to the border fence with Israel.

U.S. Fear/War Mongers Win This Round

The fear/war mongers got to the New York Times editorial board between May 23, 2013 and September 10, 2014. The Times and President Obama both gave in to the wrong people.

The American public doesn’t want to go to war unless there is something out there that frightens them.

This explains why all of our wars have been preceded by dire warnings of what will happen if we don’t militarily engage the enemy.
In President Obama’s Wednesday night speech, he repudiated his own caution and prudence by falling in line with those who think there is no fear out there that war cannot overcome.

The New York Times editorial board sonorously endorsed the President’s decision under a headline that informs the nation that the drums of war have had their effect: “The Attack on ISIS Expands to Syria,”

Sep 11 19:57

Obama takes hypocrisy to new high levels

In laying out his plans to degrade and ultimately destroy ISIS, President Obama said this: “America, our endless blessings bestow an enduring burden. But as Americans, we welcome our responsibility to lead. From Europe to Asia, from the far reaches of Africa to war-torn capitals of the Middle East, we stand for freedom, for justice, for dignity. These are values that have guided our nation since its founding.”

There’s an old English, somewhat vulgar, four-letter word which in my view sums up that statement. CRAP. (The dictionary definition of it is “excrement, rubbish, dirt, worthless nonsense.”)

An informed visitor from another planet who listened to Obama would scratch his head and say, “Has the president not heard about the occupied and oppressed Palestinians and their long struggle for freedom, justice and dignity?”

The Christian family refusing to give up its Bethlehem hill farm bulldozed by Israel

On his farm outside Bethlehem, Daher Nassar is picking apples from the ruins of the orchard he planted at least eight years ago. The fruit is scattered across ground freshly opened and imprinted with the tracks of a bulldozer. At the field’s edge, branches reach out from inside a mound of earth, the bark stripped and mangled, unripe almonds still clinging to the trees.

On 19 May a Palestinian shepherd from the village of Nahalin was out at first light and saw the bulldozer at work in the field, guarded by Israeli soldiers. By the time Nassar arrived the whole orchard – the best part of a decade’s work – was gone. His English is far from fluent, but there’s no mistaking the pain in his voice: “Why you broke the trees?”

A spokesperson for the Israeli military authorities in the West Bank said the trees were planted illegally on state land.

Israel's Deadly Attacks on Gaza Schools Constitute War Crimes: Human Rights Watch

Israel's military attacks on United Nations schools in Gaza that were sheltering thousands of displaced people slaughtered dozens of civilians "in violation of the laws of war," Human Rights Watch declared in a report released Thursday.

The humanitarian organization investigated three separate attacks on such schools that occurred in late July and early August, which together killed 45 people, 17 of them children. “Israel has offered no convincing explanation for these attacks on schools where people had gone for protection and the resulting carnage,” said Fred Abrahams, special adviser at Human Rights Watch.

Israel committed genocide in Gaza: EU delegation

An official European Parliament delegation that visited the besieged Gaza Strip after the recent Israeli onslaught on the blockaded area says Israel has committed “genocide” against the defenseless Palestinians, Press TV reports.

The delegation, which includes 13 members of the European Parliament, has called on the EU to break diplomatic ties with Israel and implement sanctions against Tel Aviv because of the war crimes it has committed against the Palestinian people.

“I don’t think it is too strong a word, not when you think of how genocide is described; it’s described as the partial or the whole destruction of people; and what we are seeing happen in Gaza, in Palestine, is the destruction of Palestinians,” Martina Anderson, an Irish member of the European Parliament, told Press TV.

Seeing Through The ISIS Script...No Cigar!

By L. Reichard White

September 11, 2014

Maybe it started with The Wizard of Oz, but it’s gotten completely out of hand. First there was al-Qaeda (“The Base“), apparently a name invented by the U.S. Justice Department to link a series of attacks to Osama bin Laden. But this newest ISIS franchise, conveniently billed as “too violent for al-Qaeda,” has taken off and its popularity makes “Breaking Bad” look like a Jr. High School class play. In rural Wyoming.

But the script needs some patching.

Israel likely to have committed Gaza war crimes: HRW

Israel is likely to have committed war crimes in Gaza, Human Rights Watch said on Thursday, a day after the Army announced five criminal investigations into incidents involving its forces.

The 50-day Gaza war between Israel and Hamas-led militants ended on August 26 after killing more than 2,100 Palestinians, most of them civilians, and 73 people on the Israeli side, 67 of them soldiers.

The New York-based rights watchdog said in a statement that in three cases it examined, Israel caused "numerous civilian casualties in violation of the laws of war".

Webmaster's Commentary:

And every sitting member of Congress is an accessory to those war crimes.

‘Holocaust makes Israelis think international law doesn’t apply’

Gideon Levy is preaching in the wilderness. Week after week, the columnist for Haaretz newspaper tells his compatriots what they do not want to hear: that the siege of Gaza and the occupation of the West Bank are immoral and counter-productive; that the continued seizure of Palestinian land and the construction of settlements is a “criminal enterprise” intended to foil any chance for peace.

“What Israeli interest does it serve to put two million people in a cage?” Levy asks. “Tens of thousands of Palestinian children will never forget what Israel has done to them and their parents in this [July 8th-August 26th] war. That is something Israel should have taken into account: another generation of hatred like never before, and very justified hatred.”

The Five Dancing Israelis Arrested On 9-11

The Jewish weekly The Forward reported that the FBI finally concluded that at least two of the detained Israelis were agents working for the Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency, and that Urban Moving Systems, the ostensible employer of the five Israelis, was a front operation. This was confirmed by two former CIA officers, and they noted that movers' vans are a common intelligence cover. (23). The Israelis were held in custody for 71 days before being quietly released. (24)
WEBMASTER NOTE: Right now the corporate media is shoveling ISIS at us as hard as they can, in an obvious propaganda campaign reminiscent of the similar campaign about "Al Qaeda" and "Osama Bin Laden" that preceded 9-11. Given how desperate the US Government is to revive the war agenda, we should be concerned that a new false-flag attack, bigger and bloodier than the World Trade Towers, is being considered.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Needless to say, Israel's minions are already chasing me around the net, screaming that I am an anti-Semite for doubting Israel's story about the three teens and insisting that Israel would never play dirty tricks to start wars. Here is one well-known example. On 9-11, a van load of Israelis made a spectacle of themselves cheering and clapping as the World Trade Towers collapsed. The video they were shooting remains classified to this very day. Rumor has it that it shows the first impact, proving the Israelis had foreknowledge. The FBI determined that at least two of the Israelis were Mossad agents. NPR put the number at three.

"Evidence linking these Israelis to 9/11 is classified. I cannot tell you about evidence that has been gathered. It's classified information." -- US official quoted in Carl Cameron's Fox News report on the Israeli spy ring and its connections to 9-11.

there is a point in any conflictual communication where one feels one absolutely must raise one's (virtual) voice, lose one's cool; where not to do so is a detriment to oneself and the meaning in one's life.

soon as the emotional barbs are answered in kind, one might as well give up. 'Innocent until proven guilty' -- how one feels and where one draws the line of acceptable stretching of the truth is not as important.

-- 'to protect my honor' or to 'back up my principles' or 'to protect' others -- worse, to 'not lose face' --

these are the game changers, the seemingly unique and rare set of events that will suddenly convince a large number of people to get involved, people who steadfastly opposed getting involved up to that point.

As Israel Assaulted Gaza, Its Supporters Pushed for Assaulting Iran

So, one would think that Israel’s supporters and lobby in the United States and elsewhere would be very busy trying to "justify" Israel’s possible war crimes and even genocide in Gaza, and present a more positive image of Israel after the carnage in Gaza. But, that was not the case. Israel’s supporters continued to push for more military war against, as usual, Iran, as well as sanctions – a harsh form of economic warfare – the casualties of which, as sanctions against Iraq in the 1990s demonstrated, can far exceed those of military wars. Consider the following.

"It is time to bomb Iran’s nuclear capabilities. It is time for the United States; if we are not going to stop Iran’s nukes, then let Israel do it. A friend will not put another friend in this kind of jeopardy."

Zionists try to close down Palestine solidarity group at Philadelphia university

Members of Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have sought legal advice after being falsely accused of anti-Semitism.

The accusations, made by a right-wing Zionist student and Israel-aligned media, have prompted an investigation by the university’s administration that could result in punishment of the Palestine solidarity group.

Temple University announced that it has sent the results of their investigation — which have not been made public — to the local district attorney’s office last week.

A Zionist student aggressively confronted and made racist comments to SJP members who were tabling during a large student organization information fair on 20 August. A student unaffiliated with SJP then slapped him in the face.

The Zionist student, who is also a fellow of CAMERA on Campus (a project of the right-wing, anti-Palestinian media watchdog group CAMERA) claimed that the students taunted him with an anti-Semitic slur.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Israeli student clearly provoked the confrontation, but the university wants to punish the Palestinians. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense, but only to Israel.

Israeli war damaged 60 per cent of manufacturing capability in Gaza

The Israeli war destroyed around 500 economic facilities that form 60 per cent of the manufacturing capability in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Ministry of Economy said.

The commercial facilities included small shops and that paralysed the economy during the Israeli war. He stressed that the effect of the economic paralysis would last until the facilities were reconstructed.

A LIFELONG ZIONIST’S DREAM THAT TURNED INTO A NIGHTMARE

The shameful apologies trying to justify the death of Arab children with trite explanations of ‘collateral damage’ and ‘use children as shields and they will die’ fill me with anger. Yes, a Jewish child’s life if precious to me but how dare anyone suggest that another child’s life is less precious, less deserving of a future? What is most frustrating is that those who place lesser values on non-Jews are supposed stalwarts of a community that I can no longer rightfully call mine. Where is the commitment to open dialogue, the respect to hear out opposing ideas, where is the dictum that commands us to listen, to debate, to agonize with each other rather than hurl epithets of disloyalty?

EU Popular Opposition to Israel Stronger Than Ever

The dispossession of the Palestinian people has been and remains an internationalized endeavor. With the European Union as its largest trading partner and the United States as its largest backer militarily and politically, Israel has no reason to reconsider its denial of Palestinian self-determination.

Albeit both the EU and the United States have been and remain Israel's global patrons, the prospects for change toward Israel appear quite different in the EU than they do in the United States. Compared to the EU, the United States lags behind in terms of the level of knowledge of, and intensity of opposition to, Israel's conduct.

Since the first Israeli bombs destroyed Palestinian homes as part of the military’s recent attack on Gaza, accusations of Israeli war crimes have been aired by numerous human rights groups.

The United Nations Human Rights Council has established an inquiry to look into claims of war crimes on both sides.

Best 'strategy' to combat ISIS -- democracy in Israel and Palestine

Right now Barack Obama is probably bent over a legal pad scratching out ISIL and putting in ISIS then thinking that over and scratching out ISIS and putting in ISIL, as he figures out the U.S. “strategy” to combat the radical terrorist group operating in Syria and Iraq.

Isn’t it interesting that our closest ally in the Middle East– Israel — is yet again of no use to the United States military or political establishment in this confrontation? As it was no use in the Gulf War of ’91. No use in the Iraq invasion of 2003 (except to help foment it in our “homeland”). No use in Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, you name it.

Anti-Zionism in the 21st Century

The essence of the Palestinian struggle is the battle against Zionism. It is a battle against its racism, against its murderous war crimes, against its insatiable territorial hunger, against its disdain for non-Jewish human rights, and against its devoted attempts to destroy Palestinian national identity.

People are still bringing up your letter to me from four weeks ago where you condemned Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz to "hang their heads in shame" for standing against Israel's recent war on Gaza, and this is why I write this letter even a month later. You've clearly struck a chord in many people with your passionate castigation of these two anti-war actors -- Spanish actors, may I justly add; former colonialists who once occupied then lost an entire continent. Surely, they are jealous of Israel who, unlike them, has lost none of its occupied territories.
