Biden in Kiev on US Regime-Change Victory Tour

Russia this week condemned the dangerous escalation of US military involvement in Ukraine. Moscow’s foreign ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said the arms announcement «broke all agreements» and that it would further destabilize the country and make a political resolution of the conflict less likely.

The next US planes to follow Biden’s will be loaded with weapons and other non-lethal munitions, as earlier this week Washington announced for the first time that it is to start supplying the Kiev regime with military hardware. Those weapons are to include anti-tank and air defence systems, sniper rifles and machine-guns.

Washington’s Gamble: Russian Roulette, The Pale Blue Dot And All Out War

The ‘Pale Blue Dot’ is the name of the photograph of the Earth taken in 1990 by the Voyager spacecraft, some six billion kilometres away from our planet as the craft was about to leave the Solar System. The Earth appears as a miniscule dot, almost lost in the vastness of space.

The late astrophysicist Carl Sagan commented on it by saying that from out there in space, there is no inkling, no clue whatsoever, that there is life here; there is no hint of humankind’s squabbles, posturings, religions, civilizations or doctrines; there is no possible comprehension of the intensity or magnitude of human joys and wonder, prejudices and sufferings.

Kiev says Russia has 7,500 troops in Ukraine

Ukraine's defence minister said on Saturday (Nov 22) that Russia has 7,500 troops in the east of the country, which destabilises the situation in the east where pro-Moscow separatists have been fighting government troops for months.

Will the Iran Deal-Wreckers Prevail?

Iran appears ready to sign an agreement tightly constraining its nuclear program in exchange for some sanctions relief, but neocons and other U.S. hardliners appear determined to wreck the deal, which could make Mideast tensions even worse, writes ex-CIA analyst Paul R. Pillar

As of this writing the greatest chance of wrecking it appears to involve not what is going on at the negotiating tables in Europe but instead what the U.S. Congress may do back in Washington to sabotage the work of the diplomats. The energy for the Congressional wrecking ball comes, as it always has, from three sources.

All-Out War in Ukraine: NATO’s ‘Final Offensive’

There are clear signs that a major war is about to break out in Ukraine: A war actively promoted by the NATO regimes and supported by their allies and clients in Asia (Japan) and the Middle East (Saudi Arabia). The war over Ukraine will essentially run along the lines of a full-scale military offensive against the southeast Donbas region, targeting the breakaway ethnic Ukraine- Russian Peoples Republic of Donetsk and Lugansk, with the intention of deposing the democratically elected government, disarming the popular militias, killing the guerrilla resistance partisans and their mass base, dismantling the popular representative organizations and engaging in ethnic cleansing of millions of bilingual Ukraino-Russian citizens. NATO’s forthcoming military seizure of the Donbas region is a continuation and extension of its original violent putsch in Kiev, which overthrew an elected Ukrainian government in February 2014.

‘International law is being applied highly selectively, when it comes to Iran’

RT talks to U.S. foreign policy analyst Soraya Ulrich

Soraya Ulrich is not optimistic that a deal would be reached before the deadline. She raises the point that this is not just about Iran, this is a fight about upholding international laws and international treaties, which are being violated by the United States. She notes that Iran has never violated the NPT (Non-Proliferation Treaty), yet it is being accused of doing so. If we succumb to the violation by one party i.e United States and its allies in this case, then international laws and international treaties will loose all meaning and other countries will fall prey to such lawlessness.

Top US and Iranian diplomats have decided to stay in Vienna to continue tense negotiations on the nuclear issue until a consensus suitable to both states is reached.

Moment of Truth — Iran and Obama

President Obama cannot mollify those critics inside as well as outside his administration who want unconditional surrender from the IRI (Islamic Republic of Iran)and still expect to get an agreement. Humiliation is a dangerous and delicate business. Especially so when the party whom you intend to humiliate is a proud people and its leaders willful.

A recommendation: Sign the nuclear accord with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Announce it with great fanfare. Declare that this opens a new era in relations between the two countries and holds out the prospect for achieving peace and stability across the region. By acting in this way, the United States would redraw the diplomatic map of the Middle East in ways that open opportunities for resolution of its internecine conflicts and for the establishment of a measure of stability.

UN resolution on Iran mockery of justice

The UN consciously or unconsciously plays into the hands of the pro-Israeli pressure groups in Canada and only puts on an ugly show of duplicity in imposing a ruling against the Islamic Republic.

The farce becomes more markedly absurd when you consider the plethora of human rights abuses going unpunished in the world with the UN laying a lid of ignorance on these blatant violations.

Iran has strongly lambasted the UN resolution, saying that “the UN’s legal mechanisms have turned into a tool in the hands of the West.”

The irony of the resolution is that the measure was initially drafted by Canada which has itself a disgracing history of human rights abuse against the aborigines in the country. Further to that, Ottawa has constantly and vehemently thrown its full-throated support behind Tel Aviv in its inconceivably ruthless crimes against the people of Palestine.

The Mistral Affair: Breach of Contract or Hostile Act?

On November 18th 2014 Sputnik news reported that the French government has denied access to the Russian training crew for the Mistral ship Vladivostok docked at St. Nazaire. The French Ministry of Defence denied knowledge of the action but their denial is in line with the French President’s continual habit of saying one thing and meaning another. The alarming question now has to be asked whether this is just a commercial breach of contract or a hostile act, because the French government has not just “failed” to deliver the first of the two Mistral ships contracted and paid for as the press reports state, it has refused to deliver them and will not unless certain conditions are met, political conditions, which have strategic importance for Russia and conditions that can never be met unless Russia surrenders its strategic position and its defence of the Ukrainians of the Donbass.

US Should Consider Lethal Aid to Ukraine, Says Obama Nominee

U.S. President Barack Obama's nominee to fill the number two post at the State Department says the White House should consider providing Ukraine with lethal, defensive military equipment.

Testifying Wednesday before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Tony Blinken said that arming Ukraine's military could force Russia to rethink its role in the conflict gripping eastern Ukraine.

Both houses of Congress have voiced support for such aid, but the Obama administration has so far stopped short of providing lethal equipment.

The Kyiv government and a host of Western nations have accused Moscow of providing direct aid, including armor and other military hardware, to separatists. NATO also has accused Moscow - which annexed Ukraine's Crimea Peninsula in March - of sending more tanks and troops into eastern Ukraine in the past two weeks.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to Tony Blinken: it is obvious that either you completely do not understand the true narrative of what happened when Viktor Yushchenko was removed from power, in a Western, EU, ECB putsch which put Western-centric tycoon Poroshenko in control, or chosing to completely ignore it.

After the sacking of Ukraine's duly elected leadership, Crimea, which had been traditionally a part of Russia until it was annexed by Kruschev in the 50's, petitioned to become a part of the Russian Federation. The referendum, to achieve that end, was conducted under the presence of international observers, and considered to be free and fair.

Let us be clear here: Russia did not annex Crimea: Crimea requested to become a part of the Russian Federation.

The song lyrics from Sam Cooke's "Wonderful World", where he sings the line "don't know much about history" are cute, in the context of song: but sir, it worries me greatly your historical revisionism here could have some horrific implications for the future of this both this country and this planet.

Yes, I understand that the US government and Congress are slouching toward a military confrontation against Russia on a number of fronts; with Syria; with Iran, and with the Ukraine.

With these weapons, Prooshenko will, most probably, begin ordering heavy attacks in the Eastern Ukraine provinces which have broken away, and it will only be a matter of time before Russia feels it must act.

I would like to politely point out that at this time in its history, the US military does not have the money, the troop strength, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome against Russia in a military confrontation. And that, sir is what makes the miltary scenario so scarily dangerous.

And Mr. President: would it be humanly possible, please, to nominate someone for this position who is infinitely less eager to ultimately lead us on a path to war with Russia?!?

The West's Ignorance of Ukraine Atrocities is an Outrage

For somebody like me who vividly remembers the loud and indignant protests of western human rights NGOs, media and governments over human rights violations in Chechnia, Bosnia or Kosovo (including plenty of completely fictional ones!), it is amazing to see how "for some mysterious reasons" the Ukrainian atrocities seem to go unnoticed in the West.

The very same West who is absolutely outraged about the arrest of Pussy Riot activist and who seems to seriously believe that organizing a "gay pride parade' in Moscow is a human right is apparently totally indifferent to the gang rape of 12-14 year old girls.

What does this say about the West, it's values, it's leaders, media and people?

This Is What Is Really Taking Place Behind The Scenes Of The Second US-Russian Cold War

It appears John Kerry is at it again. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says the US Secretary of State called on him to "pay no mind" to a statement by President Obama, in which Russia was included to a list of top global threats. Seeking Russia's cooperation in Iran and on the Korean Peninsula, Kerry told Lavrov to "forget about" what Obama said. As US foreign policy credibility dissolves, we leave it to Lavrov to conclude, "it is flippant," he jabs, "it’s not appropriate for a powerful country to have such a consumer attitude to its partners - where you’re needed, help us; where you’re not, obey us."

Webmaster's Commentary:

That is the result of a lack of a coherent foreign policy. The White House is purely reactive at this point, driven by events and lured on by goals which are often contradictory to each other. There is no real leadership in DC. It's just a town of opportunists carving out the largest slice possible for themselves and their backers.

Thirty miles inside Ukraine territory and not a single satellite photo, not a camera anywhere around, not even a one-minute video to show for it. “Ms. Psaki apparently [sic] was referring to videos of captured Russian soldiers, distributed by the Ukrainian government.” The Times apparently forgot to inform its readers where they could see these videos.

FLASHBACK - The Latest Heist: US Quietly Snatches the Ukraine’s Gold Reserves

According to reports out of Kiev (see links below), the US has quietly transfers 33 tons of Ukrainian gold out of the country and back to vaults in the US. Presumably, this sovereign wealth transfer would be counted as partial “collateral” for a fresh round of IMF, US FED, and ECB paper debt that is currently being organised for dumping into the Ukraine’s economic black hole.

Multiple inquiries to US Federal Reserve administrators into the location of the Ukraine’s gold have been met with the proverbial ‘pass the buck’, making tracking and tracking the final resting place of these 33 tonnes very difficult indeed – but one can expect that the NY Fed is probably the institution who has masterminded this financial heist.

Ukraine's president has ordered the withdrawal of all state services, including funding for hospitals and schools, from rebel-held areas.

Mr Poroshenko's ruling says all state companies and institutions should end their work in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions within a week.

It also says Ukraine's central bank is to close down all banking services - including card operations - in some areas within a month.

Russia’s Vulnerability to EU – US Sanctions and Military Encroachments

The US-EU sponsored coup in the Ukraine and its conversion from a stable Russian trading partner, to a devastated EU economic client and NATO launch pad, as well as the subsequent economic sanctions against Russia for supporting the Russian ethnic majority in the Donbas region and Crimea, illustrate the dangerous vulnerability of the Russian economy and state. The current effort to increase Russia’s national security and economic viability in the face of these challenges requires a critical analysis of the policies and structures emerging in the post-Soviet era.

What really happened in Beijing: Putin, Obama, Xi — and the back story the media won’t tell you

Courtis had a curious exchange with Putin during some of the economic forum sessions in Beijing. He asked if Russia would provide North Korea security guarantees if it agreed to renounce nuclear weapons.

Putin replied in part: “Your question is too clever. This is not the moment yet even to raise that question, let alone answer it. Often, the problem in the world is not that small countries, who feel they are under siege, are unwilling to change. Rather, it is that the bigger countries are all piling on like bullies in the school yard – and they don’t know when to stop.”

I hope Kerry and Obama were listening at that moment. As Courtis heard it, “I think Putin was signaling to the West that there will be no more help from Russia with sanctions on North Korea, or anywhere else. One could also read Iran, Syria, Venezuela, etc., into that line of reasoning.”

Putin To Leave G20 Summit Early After Being Criticized Over Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to leave the G20 summit early, a member of his delegation said, after Western leaders blasted Moscow on Saturday for the crisis in Ukraine and threatened more sanctions.

The Russian official told Reuters that Putin planned to skip a working session on Sunday at the two-day summit in Brisbane and bring forward his departure because he needed to attend meetings in Moscow.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Being bullied and accused about something you didn't do has got to raise your blood pressure somewhat: I am sure this is the same for Putin, who had to believe, after the way he was confronted on alleged Ukraine "aggression" and the downing of MH17, that this was not a climate which could possibly be productive for Russian interests, so decided to opt out early.

So far, as intelligent, independent observers have stated, there have been no provable Russia military moves on Eastern Ukraine. The military moving on Eastern Ukraine has been entirely from Kiev's side, period, end of discussion.

And as to the downing of MH17: Putin had stated that he looks forward to all the facts coming out. And please remember: there would have been absolutely zero benefits for Russia shooting down this plane over Eastern Ukraine; there would, however, be a huge propaganda coup if was Ukrainian military who ultimately shot down this plane, to blame Russia for it.

And notice that the so-called "investigators" of the calamity have been very, very reticent to release their results in a timely manner.

As reported at sherryquestioningall.com on August 18, 2014:

Just a month ago the amount of war rhetoric and accusations against Russia from the U.S. and other Western countries was loud and screaming. Russia/Putin must pay, per Hillary Clinton. Ukraine wanted NATO military immediately to go against Russia. Now MH17 has been forgotten. It is almost as if it never happened from the silence. I have done a search about the black box results from MH17. The latest I found was from July 30th. They have only released that there was a massive decompression event. One article has the excuse that the black boxes were old and may only provide sketchy data. If there was any proof that Russia had committed the shooting down of MH17 it would be everywhere, but instead there is silence with no data from the black boxes being released. That means that the information from the air traffic controller in Kiev was correct along with Russia's intelligence they released showing Ukraine is the one who shot down the plane. So No outrage anymore from the West... in fact you would think it never happened now. Update: 12:15pm: Russia is calling for UN Security Council to release their results and do a briefing on MH 17.

Russia urgently, desperately wants this information out, because it will completely exonerate them from any of the charges about the downing of this plane from the US and the West.

Russia to Open Arctic Military Drone Base 420 Miles off the Alaskan Coast

Russia has announced plans to build a drone base for military reconnaissance in a town just 420 miles off mainland Alaska and just over 300 miles off the US state’s St Lawrence Island, Russia’s state news agency reported on Thursday.

“The command of the eastern military district in charge of the military development of the Arctic zone has moved forward with plans to form an unmanned aerial vehicle division,” Alexandr Gordeev, spokesperson for the district said.

The new base’s key objective will be to provide air reconnaissance for the Russian navy in its eastern waters which directly border U.S. waters.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Looking at the massive, swelling demonization of both Russia and Putin, coupled with economic sanctions which could well lead to a shooting war between Russia and the West, I cannot blame Russia at all for this move.

After all, I am certain that the US and the West maintain air reconnaissance against the Russian Navy at this point.

BEX ALERT - Vladimir Putin hates Australia and sees it as an economic threat. And that’s just one reason for sending in the ships

WHY is Russia sending warships towards Australia in a needless act of belligerence?

We can sum that up in two really simple concise phrases. Firstly, Vladimir Putin is pissed off. And secondly, he’s showing off.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This was sent to me by a reader in Australia as an example of the non-stop Putin-bashing coming out of the Australian media ahead of the G-20. Already someone is organizing huge anti-Putin protests which will be given full media play even as protests against other world leaders will be hidden. This feels like the last desperate gasp to try to get a war with Russia (and China) underway to prevent the Ruble (and the Yuan) from toppling the dollar as the global reserve and trade currency.

West ‘pre-staging new Ukraine war’

Signs are growing that Kiev is now ready to renew its attack on east Ukraine. While we don’t expect this one to be called an “anti-terrorist” campaign, we expect to hear more cries of “Russian invasion.”

I am sensing that the West hopes that, with a full-scale attack on the Republics, Russia will be forced to intercede militarily after the West already has - and NATO will finally have the Russian invasion it has wanted to trigger the next stage of boosting NATO forces on Russia’s borders.

Not alone: New radar data indicates other jets on MH17 course before crash

New radar data indicating that military aircraft were in the air near Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 when it crashed in eastern Ukraine on July 17 has been released by a Russian air safety consultancy.

The consultancy provided a snapshot representing the readings taken by a radar station located in Russia’s Rostov, near the Ukrainian border, shortly before and about 20 minutes after the MH17 crash.

According to Sergey Melnichenko, CEO of Aviation Safety consultancy, there were one or two warplanes in the air close to the Malaysian airliner. The data casts doubt on the version of the tragedy favored by Western nations, which claims the plane was shot down from the ground by rebel forces with a sophisticated surface-to-air missile.

Putin "Prepares For Economic War", Buys Whopping 55 Tonnes Of Gold In Q3

Just as China is buying 'cheap' oil with both hands and feet, so Russia, according to the latest data from The World Gold Council (WGC) has been buying gold in huge size. Dwarfing the rest of the world's buying in Q3, Russia added a stunning 55 tonnes to its reserves, as The Telegraph reports, Putin is taking advantage of lower gold prices to pack the vaults of Russia's central bank with bullion as it prepares for the possibility of a long, drawn-out economic war with the West.

Russia bought more gold in Q3 then all other countries combined...

Vladimir Putin's government is understood to be hoarding vast quantities of gold, having tripled stocks to around 1,150 tonnes in the last decade. These reserves could provide the Kremlin with vital firepower to try and offset the sharp declines in the rouble.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Putin: Russian Economy Won't Be Dominated by 'Dollar Dictatorship'

Russia is leaving the dictatorship of the market where oil goods are based on the dollar and won't back down in face of a drastic drop in world prices on energy resources, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday.

Russia plans to leave the “dollar dictatorship” of market oil prices and turn to using the country’s national currency and the Chinese yuan, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday.

“We are leaving the dictatorship of the market where oil goods are based on the dollar and will increase the possibilities of using [other] national currencies: the ruble and the yuan,” Putin said in an interview with the Russian state news agency TASS.

On a November 9 meeting on the sidelines of the APEC summit Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping discussed the possibility of using the yuan in transactions in fields of mutual cooperation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Methinks that President Obama may have shot himself in both feet by brokering a covert deal with Saudi Arabia to ratchet down oil prices, thus hoping to cripple Russia's oil infrastructure, which is a huge part of its economy.

If, in fact, President Obama does play chess, Putin is 20 moves ahead of him almost every time.

Russia Stations Warships Off Australian Coast Ahead Of G-20 Summit

In recent days, four Russian warships have entered international waters off the northeast Australian coast to coincide with Putin's visit to Australia for the summit that brings together the leaders of the world's 20 biggest industrialized and developing economies. Australia, in turn, sent three warships of its own to monitor them.

The Russian embassy said on Friday that Russia's Pacific fleet was testing its range, and could be used as security for Putin.

Abbott was not impressed.

"Russia is being much more assertive now than it has been for a very long time," he said at a press conference with British Prime Minister David Cameron, also in Australia for the summit. "Interestingly, Russia's economy is declining even as Russia's assertiveness is increasing."

The prime minister, who met with Putin earlier this week on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum in Beijing, aired details of his conversation with the Russian leader.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to Australian PM Abbott: your ego is attempting to write checks your country's military cannot cash.

And remember: these Russian warships are still in international waters, so provoking them is a big, fat, hairy diplomatic no-no.

Putin has said, publicly, that he is looking forward to having all the facts of the downing of Malaysian Flight 17 to come out.

Prime Minister Abbott, please think (for a moment): would a world leader with anything to hide on this issue actually say this?!?

And please remember that there has been intense reticence for those investigators with the evidence to come clean with all of it.

And why is this?!?

And sir, I really hope - and PRAY - that some of your intelligence folks are reading this right the heck now.

As reported on November 5th 2014 at globalresearch.ca:

This was a Ukrainian Government job. It was close-in. (No missile fired from the distance more than 30,000 feet down to the ground could have been that precise to target the pilot rather than the far larger target of the plane’s entire body.) It came from the Government that Obama installed there in February and that’s now carrying out an ethnic-cleansing campaign against the residents in Ukraine’s southeast, the places where Yanukovych’s voters live (to the extent that they still can and do live).Compare that picture with the following one, which I take from a propaganda-site for the U.S. regime, and so which is intended instead to support the Administration’s line on this, certainly not Haisenko’s explanation of how the airliner was downed, though it actually supports Haisenko’s case: As regards whether there were actually two fighter jets firing into the Malaysian airliner or only one, a proponent of the single-jet hypothesis, Bill Johnson, posted as a reader-comment to my article on August 4th, a series of extreme close-ups of the side-panel, in which he inferred that the explanation of the apparent left-side (pilot-side) bullets was probably the shape of the bullets. I then asked him why he declined to accept the possible existence of two jets. He said, “from what I could find Russian military radar detected only one Ukrainian fighter jet, not two. I have looked and looked for any type of radar confirmation of a second fighter jet and can not find it.” However, the most virginal, earliest, online evidence concerning the matter was on July 17th, within moments of the downing, headlined in the subsequent English translation, “Spanish Air Controller @ Kiev Borispol Airport: Ukraine Military Shot Down Boeing #MH17,” and it included, “@spainbuca’s TWITTER FEED,” which included his observation, only minutes after the downing, “2 jet fighters flew very close” to the plane. Furthermore, immediately before that, he had tweeted, “The B777 plane flew escorted by Ukraine jet fighter until 2 minutes before disappearing from the radar.” So, perhaps the second jet appeared distinct to him only immediately prior to the downing. The accompanying news-report, also on July 17th, said: “This Kiev air traffic controller is a citizen of Spain and was working in the Ukraine. He was taken off duty as a civil air-traffic controller along with other foreigners immediately after a Malaysia Airlines passenger aircraft was shot down over the Eastern Ukraine killing 295 passengers and crew on board. The air traffic controller suggested in a private evaluation and basing it on military sources in Kiev, that the Ukrainian military was behind this shoot down. Radar records were immediately confiscated after it became clear a passenger jet was shot down.” If this is true, then the radar-records upon the basis of which those tweets had been sent were “confiscated.”

Mr. Prime Minister, I beg you - in the interests of peace, and global economic prosperity - to have some of your military forensics people analyze this information, and someone, please tell me where, precisely, the logic flaws are, because I am listening with both ears.

One of the traits of great leaders is the ability to admit that perhaps, they possibly could have been wrong, because they didn't quite have all the pieces of an issue quite sorted, and analyzed.

But it appears that your demonizing of Russia and Putin are part of a larger PR strategy to "groom" the West for a war against it, to prevent the rise of the ruble, and the Russian economy in general.

Yes, Russia's economy will be hurt by Saudi Arabia's ratcheting down their oil prices, in a covert deal with President Obaman; but sir, that will only be temporary, barring an outright war against it.

Russian SU24 Bomber Faces Off Against US Aegis Destroyer– And Wins….12 Times.

US destroyer “Donald Cook” with cruise missiles “Tomahawk” entered the neutral waters of the Black Sea on April 10. The purpose was a demonstration of force and intimidation in connection with the position of Russia in Ukraine and Crimea. The appearance of American warships in these waters is in contradiction of the Montreux Convention about the nature and duration of stay in the Black Sea by the military ships of countries not washed by this sea.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The story is that a Russian bomber made 12 simulated attack runs against the Aegis ship. All 12 times the Aegis painted the incoming "threat" with targeting radars, and all 12 times the Aegis system shut down! Aegis was designed to (depending on the various ship designs) track and engage anywhere from 90 to 120 simultaneous aerial targets. And today it cannot handle just one!

America is no longer able to build effective weapons systems. But they do manufacture pretty targets!

Russia warns France over warship delivery

Russia has warned France of “serious” consequences should Paris fail to deliver a Mistral-class assault warship by the end of the month, a report says.

The Russian state news agency RIA Novosti published the report on Friday, quoting an anonymous high-ranking Moscow source.

The source told the state-run agency that “We are waiting until the end of the month, then we will lodge serious claims.”

The first of two Mistral helicopter carriers were supposed to be delivered on Friday; however, French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drain said a day earlier that “no delivery date can be fixed at this stage.”

When Henry Kissinger Makes Sense

The American public is faced with an information crisis as the New York Times and other mainstream U.S. media outlets have become little more than propaganda organs on behalf of the neoconservative agenda and particularly the rush into a new Cold War with Russia – so much so that even ex-Secretary of State Henry Kissinger has broken ranks.

MSM articles consistently reek of bias – and in some cases make little sense. For instance, Times correspondent David M. Herszenhorn, one of the leading propagandists, wrote an alarmist story on Wednesday about a new Russian “invasion” of Ukraine but curiously he had the alleged Russian tank column heading east toward the Ukrainian city of Donetsk which would be back toward Russia, not westward into Ukraine.

Lame duck out of the Silk Road caravan

There’s hardly a more graphic illustration of where the multipolar world is going than what just happened at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Beijing.

Guess who’s in the place of honor, side by side with President Xi Jinping. And guess where the lame duck leader of the “indispensable nation” has been relegated. The Chinese can also be masters at sending a global message.

(Of course, any survivors then quickly choke to death, from the dirt):

NATO 1949: The Origin of an Offensive, Expansionist, Imperialist Military Alliance

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization, NATO, was launched sixty five years ago following the signature of the Atlantic Pact in 1949. The original member states that came together under US tutelage claimed that their alliance was dedicated to the preservation of peace and to the defence of Western Europe against the supposed threat of military aggression. It is noteworthy that the launch of NATO coincided with the intensification of the Cold War, the political division of Germany and the first tentative steps by the US and Britain to rearm the new West German state.

Third Australian warship sent to halt Russian flotilla bound for G20 in Brisbane

A THIRD Australian warship has been dispatched to intercept a Russian flotilla steaming towards the G20 summit in Brisbane and a fourth navy vessel is ready to divert to the area.

The replenishment ship HMAS Sirius is heading into the Coral Sea to support the frigates HMAS Parramatta and HMAS Stuart and the frigate HMAS Sydney is preparing to divert from an exercise in New Zealand to join the mission, according to a government source.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am confused: why are you willing to have the Australian Navy confront Russian ships, when you yourself described this as follows:

"PRIME Minister Tony Abbott has described the convoy of heavily armed Russian warships cruising international waters towards Australia’s north as part of “freedom of navigation”.

And why, sir,do you appear to be hell bent on a military "interception"?!? If these ships stay within the boundaries of international waters, any miscommunication, any wrong move on the part of either the Australian or Russian side could spark a very grave military encounter.

Please tell me, and the world, that this is NOT your intention, and that this is not an "Abbott/Putin" male attribute member measuring contest!!

Azerbaijan Risks New Armenia Conflict as Military Chopper Downed

Azerbaijan shot down an Armenian helicopter that it said violated its airspace in an attack that may trigger fresh confrontations between the two countries over a disputed region.

The Mi-24 helicopter was “trying to attack” Azeri positions near a cease-fire line when it was hit, the Defense Ministry in Baku said on its website. Armenia’s Defense Ministry said the aircraft was unarmed and called its downing an “unprecedented provocation.”

“This is the worst military incident in more than 20 years since the cease-fire,” Thomas de Waal, senior associate at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, said by e-mail from Washington.

Armenia and Azerbaijan fought a war as the Soviet Union collapsed that claimed about 30,000 lives and displaced 1.2 million people. The latest rupture of the 1994 cease-fire marks a potentially dangerous turn in the Caucasus flashpoint located between Turkey, Iran and Russia, which has a mutual defense pact with Armenia.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is not just the chopper which got shot down, but its crew, which could be dead; there are no indications in this story that there were any survivors.

This could get nasty in a heartbeat, because Armenia and Azerbaijan have had rough relations over the years, due to Armenia having seized Nagorno-Karabakh, and the reality Russia has a mutual defense pact with Armenia.

To all the adults in the room in the bowels of geopolitics, wherever the heck you are, whatever the heck you are doing, please drop it, and see what you can do to hold this fragile peace together.

As you understand, the risks of a war in this region may well be a prelude to a much wider military confrontation.

Out of Cash, Kiev Offers to Pay Soldiers with Land

Kyiv – The families of the fallen servicemen, as well as wounded fighters, participants of the ATO, will be able to receive free land lots in Kyiv, stated city head Vitaly Klitschko on Tuesday. As such, the Kyiv City Council plans to create a special committee during the nearest session to accept applications and determine the queue for receiving land lots. However, the city officials are not ready to name exact terms in which according decisions will be made and the land lots allocated. So far Vitaly Klitschko has personally inspected 10 hectares of land in the village of Bykivnya, which is intended for 38 families of the fallen soldiers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: Ukraine is flat broke, and this is all they can do to compensate the families of their fallen, and those badly wounded....if, in fact, these people will accept the deal.

And what about having to do construction on their own?!? Where are the plans for these houses supposed to come from, along with the money for building materials?!?

My day job is marketing architecture, and I know, as well as I know my own name, that unless intelligent plans are created, then executed by reasonably skilled contractors, what you will have at the end of the day could well be titled identically to the current Top Gear series: "ambitious, but rubbish!!"

When people have no background in either architecture or construction, the end result of their efforts could well be unmitigated disaster.

Russia produce radar data which 'proves' military aircraft was flying close to MH17 when it was shot down above Ukraine

Russia today produced 'evidence' that it claims shows at least one military aircraft was flying close to Flight MH17 when it was shot down, killing all 298 on board.

Data from air traffic controllers in Rostov-on-Don, leaked to a Moscow newspaper, appears to show an unidentified object flying at the time of the crash on 17 July and remaining in the area for 20 minutes after the crash.

Russian military experts have previously claimed a Ukrainian war plane shot down the Malaysia Airline flight, but it has taken 119 days for sources to produce the 'proof'.

In the past, western sanctioners have sabre-rattled cutting off Russian from SWIFT - the international inter-bank payment system - as a next step in squeezing the oligarchs into submission (though 'independent' SWIFT distanced itself from those calls). The Central of Russia says it needs to speed up preparations for its version of SWIFT in case of possible ”challenges” from the West. Putin to Australian PM: Russia Hopes All MH17 Crash Data Will Go Public

Russian President Vladimir Putin in conversation with Australian PM Tony Abbott said he hopes all information about the crash of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in eastern Ukraine will be made public, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told RIA Novosti.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Putin is saying this with absolute certainty, because when the whole truth comes out, the world will learn that it was Ukrainian military which shot this plane out of the sky, and not Russia.

In confronting Putin in such an accusatory manner, the Australian PM Abbott looked more like the "Abbott" from the US's comedy series, "Abbott and Costello"; unfortunately, this is not funny, given the horrific reality of the situation. Abbott was simply "carrying the US's water" with this.

We are seeing a growing demonization of Russia, potentially ahead of a war between Russia and NATO, and I, for one, am not buying it.

Russia sends warships towards Australia before G20 meeting

Russia has sent a fleet of warships towards Australia in an apparent display of muscle-flexing ahead of the G20 meeting amid tensions between the two countries over the MH17 crash.

Defence announced late on Wednesday it is "monitoring Russian naval vessels that are currently transiting through international waters to the north of Australia".

It stressed: "The movement of these vessels is entirely consistent with provisions under international law for military vessels to exercise freedom of navigation in international waters."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott did indeed confront Putin and demand Putin "confess" to his role in the shoot down of Malaysian Airlines flight 17. This is Putin's reminder to Abbot that he is not really in a position to demand anything.

Am I Supposed to be Afraid of This?

When there are no successes to point towards as a reason to be confident in one’s government, the Great Father can be counted on to use fear of a scary enemy to rally the people. A lie can go around the world twice before the truth has even tied its shoes. The Great Father knows this and he also knows that it’s best to have a few enemies waiting in the wings to distract the American people. To be sure, certain among the American people (the species Ovis aries americanus) will fall for this every time. Which is why it remains effective and American foreign policy infomercials succeed in selling wars without genuine objectives. In fact, were U.S. foreign policy a product, it would be sold on late-night infomercials along with spray-on “hair”, vegetable slicers, and compilation CDs of 1970s hits. And if you purchased it, you would get a few wars, absolutely free. Let’s have a look at some of the Great Father’s latest products.

The Con-man Cornered: Obama and the Democratic Debacle of 2014

The meteoric rise to power of Barack Obama in 2008 was propelled by one of the greatest demagogic US Presidential campaigns of all time: To millions of young Americans, he promised to end the US wars in the Middle East. To millions of working and middle class voters, he promised to end the economic crisis by confronting Wall Street. To women, he promised to protect and expand their social rights and end the gender gap in wages and salaries.

To human rights and civil liberties activists, he promised to end police state surveillance and torture, and to close the Guantanamo concentration camp, which had denied political prisoners a fair and open trial. To blacks, he promised higher living standards and greater racial equality in income. To Latino-Americans, he promised immigration reform facilitating a path to citizenship for long-term residents. Overseas he spoke in Cairo of a “new chapter” in US policy toward the Muslim world. To Russia, he promised President Putin he would ‘reset relations’ – toward greater co-operation.

The Latest Russian Fighter Jet Blows America's Away

With more than 600 Flankers (Sukhoi-27s and its later iterations such as the Su-30, Su-34 and Su-35 Super Flanker) flying with air forces around the world, the fate of the fifth generation F-35 seems decidedly uncertain. Aerospace experts across the world are veering around to the view that America’s most expensive fighter development program (pegged at $1.5 trillion) will be a sitting duck for the flankers.

“It’s a turkey,” declares aerospace engineer Pierre Sprey in an interview to Dutch television. Few people are as qualified to speak about fighter aircraft as Sprey.
