60 Percent of Voters Want Obamacare to Be Repealed

A new poll finds that three-fifths of likely voters support the repeal of Obamacare. A large plurality — 44 percent — wants to see Obamacare repealed and replaced with a conservative alternative. A much smaller group —16 percent — wants to see it repealed but not replaced. Less than one in three respondents — 32 percent — would like to keep Obamacare, whether in its current form or in amended form. So, with a conservative alternative in play, 60 percent of Americans support repeal, while only 32 percent oppose it.

‘No military value’ in US Syria targets

The US airstrikes in Syria target militants with “no military value” hitting the infrastructures, says Dr. Alan Sabrosky, a ten-year US Marine Corps veteran and a 1986 graduate of the US Army War College.

Washington intends to inflict “such damage to the economic and industrial infrastructure within Syria that any Syrian government after the fighting will be so weakened that it will be vulnerable to further attacks.”

"ISIL crisis" plays right into Zionists hands

Rahm Emanuel, President Obama's first Chief of Staff – who also served as Obama's Israeli Mossad handler – famously said: "You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before."

Individuals, groups, whole industries, even nations sometimes take advantage of crises and catastrophes. Big bankers, for example, love war because it forces governments to borrow vast sums of money at compound interest. Arms manufacturers also make huge profits. And the big government always gets bigger during wartime as it confiscates people's wealth and scales back their rights.

THE WRH BANKER ARTICLES: ALL IN ONE CHUNK

I have received many emails regarding the various articles I have written about the problems with the current economic system of being forced to borrow all currency at interest from a privately-owned central bank. This is, of course, the very system of banking the United States fought a revolution to be free of, only to be sold back into said banker slavery not just once, but three times by corrupted congresses and corrupted presidents.

I have been asked to collect all those articles into a single page to make it easier for people to send to their friends, and this collection is the result.

Joe Biden and the Ghost of Shylock

Napoleon once famously remarked that “in politics, stupidity is not a handicap.” In few cases does this seem more apt than in that of Vice-President Joe Biden, perennial lapdog to the ADL’s Abraham Foxman. Biden has recently added to last year’s faux pas by recently committing the egregious sin of using the word “Shylocks” to describe mortgage lenders. The slip came in a speech to the Legal Services Corporation, which provides lawyers to Americans who could not afford them otherwise. In his remarks, the Vice-President described the experience of his son, Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, who was deployed for one year in Iraq:

People would come to him and talk about what was happening to them at home in terms of foreclosures, in terms of bad loans that were being — I mean, these Shylocks who took advantage of these women and men while overseas.

G-77, China condemn coercive sanctions against Iran

In a resolution issued on the sidelines of the 69th annual session of the UN General Assembly in New York on Friday, foreign ministers of the Group of 77 plus China for the first time explicitly rejected as unacceptable the imposition of unilateral economic sanctions against Iran.

Such sanctions would have adverse consequences on the development of the Iranian nation, the resolution said, calling for the immediate removal of the bans.

The illegal US-engineered sanctions on Iran have been imposed based on the accusation that Tehran is pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program.

HONG KONG PROTESTS PART OF HILLARY'S "CHINA WILL PAY" THREAT

Today's big story tells of a "spontaneous" student uprising and a horrible "crackdown" taking place in Hong Kong (part of China for past 20 years). As loyal readers of The Anti-New York Times are well aware of by now, yet unbeknown to most of the silly young University punks of Hong Kong, these types of protests are the clear handiwork of the CIA. The fact that factory workers have joined the students is further evidence that this is a "color revolution' maneuver.

I am sure that Hillary will see this as revenge on China for standing up for Assad, but I think the primary agenda is to wreck BRICS before it fully activates in January!

Boehner might bring Congress back for Syria debate after all

Just days after suggesting lawmakers might not debate U.S. military involvement in Syria until next year, House Speaker John Boehner said he'd agree to call Congress back into session to vote if President Barack Obama sends up a resolution asking for the authority.

Boehner told ABC's George Stephanopoulos that if the President wanted a vote, "I'd bring the Congress back" -- never mind that the U.S. has already begun airstrikes inside Syria as part of a coalition.

Boehner hopes the President requests and sends up an authorization for use of military force as soon as possible," his spokesman, Michael Steel, told CNN Monday.

Boehner left a much different impression in an interview published Thursday in The New York Times.

FLASHBACK - The Lavon Affair: When Israel firebombed U.S. Installations to make it appear attacks were by ‘Muslim extremists,’ and how the US media cover it up

In their 1979 book, The Untold History of Israel, Israeli journalists Jacques Derogy and Hesi Carmel relate that in 1954 Israel’s army intelligence section conceived a plan to attack British personnel seconded to King Hussein’s government in Jordan. The purpose was to sour relations between Britain and Jordan as well as between both Jordan and Britain on the one hand and Egypt, which would be blamed for such attacks.

Shortly afterward, the same Israeli army intelligence organization activated two networks of Egyptian Jews first established in 1948. These young people had been recruited in Egypt, secretly trained in Israel, and then sent back to their homes in Cairo and Alexandria to await orders to carry out acts of sabotage in case of war between Egypt and Israel.

Secret Service Director Julia Pierson admitted Tuesday that her agency's security plan fell apart when an intruder broke into the White House earlier this month -- entering through an unlocked door and making it all the way into the East Room -- as she faced heated questioning from lawmakers on Capitol Hill.

Webmaster's Commentary:

US-led coalition against ISIL: Front for regime change

Listening to American and British leaders this week one would think that Barack Obama and David Cameron are knights in shining armor on an epic crusade to defeat global evil.

The campaign against IS is a front for the criminal agenda of regime change in Syria and the region. This real, criminal agenda should be exposed and condemned at every opportunity. To consort with this mob is to corrupt international law and morality.

Unbelievably, too many states seem to be going along with this ridiculous charade, as can be gleaned from the way Obama and Cameron’s posturing was indulged this week at the United Nations General Assembly.

Our final conclusion is this: Obama and Cameron are using simplistic moralizing rhetoric about “defeating evil” in order to: 1) conceal their own criminal legacy; 2) pressure the rest of the world into endorsing their presumed but ill-deserved authority; and 3) promote their criminal agenda of regime change under a moral cover.

Obama blames his intelligence chief for his own shortcomings, say critics

President Barack Obama denigrated the United States’ intelligence community in an interview broadcast Sunday evening for giving him and his White House an incorrect assessment of the capabilities of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), during his interview with newsman Steve Kroft, who has been accused of being an "Obama water carrier" by conservative viewers. Obama told Croft on the CBS TV Network's Sunday night edition of 60 Minutes that his "head of the intelligence community, James (Jim) Clapper... underestimated what had been taking place in Syria.”

The Khorosan Group Does Not Exist

For six years, President Obama has endeavored to will the country into accepting two pillars of his alternative national-security reality. First, he claims to have dealt decisively with the terrorist threat, rendering it a disparate series of ragtag jayvees. Second, he asserts that the threat is unrelated to Islam, which is innately peaceful, moderate, and opposed to the wanton “violent extremists” who purport to act in its name.

Now, the president has been compelled to act against a jihad that has neither ended nor been “decimated.” The jihad, in fact, has inevitably intensified under his counterfactual worldview, which holds that empowering Islamic supremacists is the path to security and stability. Yet even as war intensifies in Iraq and Syria — even as jihadists continue advancing, continue killing and capturing hapless opposition forces on the ground despite Obama’s futile air raids — the president won’t let go of the charade.

They’re Making Up Stuff

In short: lying works, and so administration officials simply invented a new enemy, one more fearsome – and, simultaneously, more familiar – to Americans than ISIS. They dubbed it "Khorasan," which, as far as anyone knows, is a former province of Iran, now divided into three separate provinces also named Khorasan. We are told their ostensible leader – whom we have just now supposedly killed in air strikes – was once head of "Al Qaeda in Iran," a shadowy group that has never pulled off a single action or engaged in any propagandistic activities, and for all we know never really existed at all. Those evil Iranian mullahs, the "experts" aver, have been sheltering a radical Sunni terrorist group – one that considers them heretics deserving of death – for their own malign purposes. No convincing evidence of this unlikely alliance is ever offered, however, and it seems about as credible as the Al Qaeda-Saddam Hussein connection Bush and his crew broadcast far and wide.

According to a WCPO report, Michelle Obama’s new school program is costing American taxpayers $4 million. And that’s not over the course of an entire year. That is how much it is costing American taxpayers on a daily basis. That’s right; $4 million each day.

A whopping 81 percent of schools have seen an increase in the number of lunches that now end up in the trash. The report also “shows that 60 percent of fresh vegetables and 40 percent of fresh fruit are being thrown away.”

When U.S. President Barack Obama addressed the U.N. US in 'near continuous' strikes against ISIS in Syria

The U.S.-led coalition widened its airstrikes against ISIS in Syria on Saturday as part of "near continuous" raids against the jihadists.

The targets were said to include ISIS fighters around the mainly Kurdish town of Ain al-Arab where a jihadist advance has sent 160,000 refugees streaming into nearby Turkey.

The coalition also hit ISIS in the central province of Homs for the first time as well as in the town of Minbej, near the western limit of the group's control, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The expanded operations in Syria by Washington and its Arab allies came after three more European governments deployed fighter jets for strikes against ISIS in Iraq, freeing up U.S. air power.

ISIS and the USA: Expansion and Resistance by Decapitation

If the brutal decapitation and dismemberment of innocent civilians is a capital crime that should be punished, as I believe it is, then both ISIS and the Obama regime with his allied leaders should face a people’s war crimes tribunal in the countries where the crimes occurred.

In order to overcome massive US and world public opposition to new wars in the Middle East, Obama relied on the horrific internet broadcasts of ISIS slaughtering two American hostages, the journalists James Foley and Steve Sotloff, by decapitation. These brutal murders were Obama’s main propaganda tool to set a new Middle East war agenda – his own casus belli bonanza! Obama’s hysterical and very selective presentation of ISIS crimes forms the pretext for launching another war against a predominantly Muslim country, Syria, while shielding his close ally, the royal Saudi decapitator from US public outrage. ISIS crimes have become another excuse to launch a campaign of ‘mass decapitation by drones and bombers’. The mass propaganda campaign over one crime against humanity becomes the basis for perpetrating even worse crimes against humanity. Many hundreds of innocent civilians in Syria and Iraq will be dismembered by ‘anti-terrorist’ bombs and drones unleashed by another of Obama’s ‘coalition’.

Republican Congressmembers Urge Military Officers To Rebel Against Obama

Republican members of Congress are urging military officers to rebel against the Obama administration’s middle eastern foreign policy by resigning “in a blaze of glory,” according to U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn of Colorado.

During a liberty group forum on Wednesday night in the basement of a Colorado Springs bar, Lamborn, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, answered a question from a member of the audience who urged members of Congress to “support the troops” in the absence of leadership from the White House.

US Bombed ‘Empty Buildings’ in Airstrikes on ISIL in Syria

According CNN Middle East correspondent Arwa Damon (photo, above), residents from the town of Raqqa, in northeastern Syria had “mixed reactions to US strikes”. The reason given was a real shocker:

Damon revealed on air early Wednesday that ISIL terrorists who were held up in the town may have been tipped off weeks in advance to the US airstrikes on Tuesday. According to Damon:

“15-20 days before the airstrikes, (ISIL) buildings were evacuated, and fighters then mixed in with the local population”.

Maybe Damon let the truth slip out by accident, or maybe she was trying to do what US journalists so often are not allowed to do by challenging Washington’s prefabricated narrative. Regardless, CNN’s chief war enthusiast Wolf Blitzer did not feel the need to pursue the point.

How I Woke Up

In physics I had learned how calculus could take me from the velocity of a moving object to the change in velocity (acceleration) to the change in acceleration. In statics I learned how to calculate the opposing and combining forces of objects at rest - how various forces would act against "static" objects like weights, dump trucks and buildings on ramps, pulleys and wires. I knew how the law of conservation of momentum applied to inelastic collisions and how kinetic energy and gravitational potential energy would be converted to other forms of energy like heat and sound. So when I saw the videos of WTC 7 coming straight down in 6.7 seconds I knew that fire and gravity alone could not have caused this. Why?

Slovenian PM not happy about being made part of anti-ISIS coalition without knowing

Cerar was annoyed to learn that Slovenia is being made part of a U.S.-led anti-Islamic State coalition without being informed beforehand.

Hezbollah: US Bombing Iraqi Army, Popular Forces' Positions Not ISIL

Iraq's Hezbollah Battalions complained that US warplanes have intentionally bombarded the positions of the Iraqi army and the volunteer forces in the Northern Babil province for the second time in the last month on the pretext of targeting ISIL strongholds.

"The intentional bombing of armed forces and popular forces shows wicked intentions of the US and the international cover-up of this attempt on the pretext of fighting ISIL," an informed source from Iraq's Hezbollah Battalions told the Arabic-language Al-Moslah news website.

"Had the United States been honest in its claims, it would have targeted the ISIL positions in Jorf Al-Sakhar, Faloujah, and other regions identified by us instead of striking the Army and popular forces in Al-Awisat in Northern Babil last Wednesday," the source said.

War on ISIL Is Not What It Seems

The covert US-led war on Syria, under the guise of fighting terrorism, is now well underway despite its flagrant criminality and fraudulence. Coalition of the Clueless in Syria

Takes a look at the 'Coalition of the Clueless' and tries to explain why Syria, Iran and Russia are being so low-key in their reaction to US airstrikes on Syrian territory. In a nutshell, this trio can afford to be opportunistic because they see this Coalition going nowhere fast.

The airwaves are still heaving with spin two days after US airstrikes against Syria.

Undoubtedly the attacks were timed to occur on the eve of the annual gathering of world leaders at the United Nations, so ‘Coalition’ partners could cluster behind the decision to bomb a sovereign state, uninvited.

The irony, of course, is that they are doing so at the UN – the global political body that pledges to uphold international law, peace and stability, and the sanctity of the nation-state unit.

The goal this week will be to keep the ‘momentum’ on a ‘narrative’ until it sinks in.

Will Russia and China Hold Their Fire Until War Is the Only Alternative? — Paul Craig Roberts

Obama’s September 24 speech at the UN is the most absurd thing I have heard in my entire life. It is absolutely amazing that the president of the United States would stand before the entire world and tell what everyone knows are blatant lies while simultaneously demonstrating Washington’s double standards and belief that Washington alone, because the US is exceptional and indispensable, has the right to violate all law.

It is even more amazing that every person present did not get up and walk out of the assembly.

The diplomats of the world actually sat there and listened to blatant lies from the world’s worst terrorist. They even clapped their approval.

THE CONQUEST OF EUROPE

The so-called pivot towards China is one of its tactics, and the expansion of NATO right against the face of Russia is another. Both are provocative and risky. And I only wish the world could understand that the United States is not that far from being a de facto bankrupt. It has no money for anything except by the unsound and unethical practice of printing more of it, knowing its special position as a world reserve currency allows it to cheat holders of dollars around the entire planet with their devaluation. And devalue it will, sooner or later, effectively leaving most of the bill for its stupid wars to be paid by others.

The Rush to Violence

Between 4 and 20 August the Saudi Arabian government beheaded 19 people. Saudi Arabia, which has funded and armed ISIS from inception (initially with CIA support), is now bombing alongside the USA in Iraq and Syria.

Forget the war technology porn regularly being broadcast by western media, with those spectacular photos of missiles erupting from ships into the night sky. Those missiles and bombs eviscerate and maim innocents as well as combatants, children as well as terrorists. The West always first denies, then regrets, “collateral damage”. The propaganda can be laughable. During the invasion of Iraq I remember a news propaganda item about how a cruise missile can enter a specific window, being followed by the next item – the US had apologised to Syria for two missiles aimed at Iraq which had hit Syria by accident.

The Real Network of Death – ISIS Atrocities Pale When Compared to those of the U.S. Masters of War

In fact, the United States, that is to say its ruling plutocracy, is the ultimate guarantor of mass destruction and death.

As Tom Engelhardt notes, “Washington is a war capital” and “the United States is a war state.” It is the “norm for us is to be at war somewhere at any moment.” War has been a constant since World War II. It feeds the beast, the military-industrial complex, as exiting president Dwight Eisenhower so presciently warned.

ISIS, forged out of the remnants of al-Qaeda in Iraq, armed and trained by the United States and its “partners,” the fossilized Wahhabi monarchies of the Persian Gulf, poses nowhere near the deadly threat of the United States. The United States has excelled as the Master of War. It has fine tuned military interventions, covert operations, coups and attempted coups, regime change and, most recently, color revolutions.

PR Firm Pulls ‘Emma Watson Naked Pics’ False Flag to Push For Internet Censorship

A PR firm has admitted to carrying out an online false flag against the 4chan forum in which it blamed the website for a threat to release naked pictures of actress Emma Watson as part of an appeal to President Barack Obama to censor the Internet.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Anyone foolish enough to take nude pictures and put them on the web is just asking for trouble, and the reality is that more than a few stars intentionally plant nude pictures of themselves where they will be "discovered" as part of the campaign to increase their fame and "bankability." Setting that aside, this whole episode reminds us that the government and corporate media persist in trying to find ways to shut down the open and free internet and turn it into just another government and corporate controlled content and propaganda delivery system. Public Relations firms are paid vast amounts of money to engage in activities which for normal civilians would be punishable as crimes.

Report: U.S. Air Strike in Syria Kills Six Children, Zero ISIS Members

According to a report by Al-Jazeera, which is aligned with Qatar, a vehement supporter of the U.S. military campaign against ISIS, missiles targeting the town of Kafr Diryan destroyed two residential areas, killing 27 people, most of whom were civilians.

“The locals say that this is the first time that they were attacked by missiles since the outbreak of Syrian revolution. The paradox, they say, is they were bombed not by the Syrian regime, but by an international coalition which killed and wounded many of them under the pretext of fighting terrorism,” states the report.

This surprising admission by CNN would mean that the US military may have only destroyed empty buildings in Raqqa, and that Washington’s inflated claims of dead ISIL fighters are probably exaggerated. Quite possibly, the ice will be broken regarding Syria today at the meeting between Sergey Lavrov and John Kerry in New York. The New Cold war, which started with a bang, might be ending with a whimper.

Considering the huge lift that the White House gave last week to the visit by the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko — ‘rare honor’ of addressing a joint session of the US Congress, et al — one would have thought the Barack Obama administration was getting into a heightened mood of belligerence vis-a-vis Russia. The Truth About U.S. Air Strikes on Syria With Syrian Girl

Operation Tomahawk The Caliph

The Tomahawks are finally flying again – propelled by newspeak. 42 Tomahawks fired from a Sixth Fleet destroyer parked in Mare Nostrum, plus F-22s raising hell and Hellfires spouted by drones, that’s a neat mini-Shock and Awe to honor Caliph Ibrahim, aka Abu Bakr al -Baghdadi, self-declared leader of Islamic State.

What a mess. Al-Qaeda in Iraq is the embryo of ISIS, which turned into IS. Jabhat al-Nusra is the al-Qaeda franchise in Syria, approved by CEO Ayman al-Zawahiri. Both despise each other, and yet Khorasan holds the merit of bundling Caliph’s goons and al-Qaeda goons together. Additionally, for Washington Jabhat al-Nusra tend to qualify as “moderate” jihadis – almost like “our bastards”. Too messy?

No problem; when in doubt, bomb everybody.

The Syrian Fallacy – “You Can’t Bomb City-Entrenched Troops out of Existence Without Bombing the City Itself Out of Existence.”

I argued that the presence of ISIS troops in major metropolitan areas of northern Iraq makes President Obama’s air strikes campaign largely an exercise in highly expensive pyrotechnics, because you can’t bomb city-entrenched troops out of existence without bombing the city itself out of existence. When I woke up on Tuesday morning, the New York Times greeted me with a headline reading, “In Iraq, Strikes Fail to Dislodge ISIS.” Because golly gosh oh gee, who could have possibly anticipated that?

We started bombing Syria on that same Tuesday morning, using the $700 billion F-22 Raptor stealth fighter for the first time.

Today the Pentagon is saying that the latest manufactured cartoon villain, Khorasanzilla, is in the final stages of a plot to carry out a terror attack on the United States. The White House has an answer for critics who want to know how the Obama administration can justify striking ISIS inside Syria under international law: If and when we actually do it, we will come up with a legal justification then.

The New York Times called the explanations “perplexing” and insufficient. (After all, al Qaeda and ISIS have sporadically fought with one another, and the Saddam regime is long gone.)

As the new war on ISIS widens, and the media war drums pick up the tempo, some nice breaks in the rhythm have been the few peeps made about the role of the U.S. and its allies (especially Saudi Arabia) in feeding the beast, by arming and training ISIS’s fellow travelers and prospective members in Syria.

Yet, this is no new phenomenon. Less-than-pious rulers (especially American presidents and decadent Saudi royals) have cynically harnessed radical Islam to fuel their worldly wars of conquest and dominance for centuries. And they have done so with the indispensable help of radical Islamic scholars, clerics, and preachers who formulate and communicate the doctrines that underpin that fanaticism.

U.S., partner nations launch first air strikes against Islamic State in Syria

The United States and partner nations are carrying out the first air strikes against Islamic State targets in Syria, the Pentagon said late Monday, in ongoing operations that mark the opening of a new, far more complicated front in battle against the militants.

Barbarism Versus Stupidism

In my lifetime, the USA has not blundered into a more incoherent, feckless, and unfavorable foreign policy quandary than we see today.

The US-led campaign to tilt Ukraine to Euroland and NATO — and away from the Russian-led Eurasian Customs Union — turned an “intelligence” fiasco into a strategic humiliation for the Obama White House. Notice that the story has vamoosed utterly from the American media headlines, even when the Russian Engineers’ Union issued a report last week asserting that the Malaysian Airlines Flight MH17 was most likely shot down by 30mm cannon fire from Ukrainian military aircraft. The USA State Department didn’t deign to refute it because doing so would have drawn attention to the fact that it was the only plausible explanation for what happened.

Nothing Will Stop Isis Except A Syrian Truce

US policy has an Alice in Wonderland absurdity about it, everything being the opposite of what it appears to be. The so-called “coalition of the willing” is, in practice, very unwilling to fight IS, while those hitherto excluded, such as Iran, the Syrian government, Hezbollah and the PKK, are the ones actually fighting.

Breaking the silence: Lois Lerner cops a plea in first ever interview

The former Internal Revenue Service official who has practically become a household name for her role in a major scandal involving her section of arguably the nation's most powerful agency, is now on the record in a Monday interview with a left-leaning Internet news and commentary website. She claims she's innocent of any wrongdoing and that she's not sorry for anything she did while at the IRS. In the vernacular of law enforcement, "she copped a plea."

Lois Lerner, who was the director of the IRS's Office of Tax Exempt Organizations, consented to an interview with Politico, the first ever. When questioned under oath by members of the U.S. Congress she twice invoked her Fifth Amendment constitutional right to "remain silent."

Want Obamacare? Get Ready to Share the Details of Your Life Changes With the Feds.

Americans receiving tax credits for health care they get through the Affordable Care Act are likely to take a hit on their tax refunds, warns USA Today. That's because they took an advance against those tax credits when they signed up for coverage, but come tax filing time, actual numbers may not square with earlier estimates. If that's the case (and when do financial estimates ever line up with reality at the end of the year?) the tax collectors will demand money back.

Donor blackmail Silences Criticism of Israel

Donor blackmail is the last front line for the Zionists as they continue to suffer defeats in the battle for public opinion.

Due to Israel’s brutal racism and repeated attacks on Palestinian civilians, it is losing popular support internationally. As this happens, the Zionists appear to be intensifying pressure on societal and political elites, particularly in the U.S. and other Western states, to maintain policies that support and protect Israel’s criminal behavior.

If you cannot win by debate, how do you combat the growing popular suspicion of Israeli and Zionist actions? You do it by pressuring the donor-dependent elite leadership of institutions, such as universities and colleges, to suppress and punish those who criticize Israel.

Their vehicle for achieving this goal has always been financial gifts and donations to elite individuals and institutions.

John McCain’s Whoops Moment: Photographed Chilling With ISIS

Does anyone remember when I wrote an article last year about John McCain being a traitor? Does the man in the red circle look familiar? Everyone put on your shocked face for John McCain’s whoops moment. It seems the Arizona Senator that is upset at Obama for the mess in Iraq was photographed chilling out with ISIS terrorist leaders in Syria!

Senator John McCain is making headlines but not for saying he was happy Eric Holder is persecuting illegal aliens or his lie about Holder investigating the VA, even though Eric Holder doesn’t have plans to prosecute people in the VA. He even seems a little hot under the collar about losing Iraq, but that isn’t why he’s in the headlines today.

He seems to forget that he was photographed, and those photographs were broadcast world wide, with the same individuals that are causing the trouble in Iraq and Syria and deemed too violent to represent Al Qaeda.

General ‘Breedhate’ in Another Sabotage Sortie

The irresponsible language of Four-Star General Breedlove in exacerbating the crisis makes one wonder if his name should not henceforth be known as General “Breedhate”.

US Air Force General Philip Breedlove strafed the renewed peace plan for Ukraine before it barely got off the ground at the weekend, thereby aiming to shoot down another political bid to end months of deadly violence in the country.

It’s not the first time that the NATO military chief has used high-flown rhetoric to preempt a diplomatic solution to end the fighting in war-torn eastern Ukraine. That conflict has claimed nearly 3,000 lives over the past six months, with up to one million civilians displaced and millions more trapped in a spiralling humanitarian crisis.

Pentagon Prepares To Unveil Syria War Plans As "Broad Coalition" Crumbles

A day after US ambassador to The UN Samantha Powers stated, "we will not do the airstrikes alone if the president decides to do the airstrikes," and Russia warned, "bombing Syria without the cooperation of Damascus can have destructive practical consequences on the humanitarian situation in Syria," it appears President Obama's grand strategy to combat IS via a 'broad coalition' of allies is flailing. While the WSJ reports, The Pentagon is preparing war plans in Syria that would include an intensive initial wave of strikes against Islamic State targets, Germany's Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier explained today that providing air support or sending ground troops to fight Islamic State is "out of the question for us."

Congress Votes for More War in the Middle East

Last week, the House and Senate voted to rubber stamp President Obama's war plans for the Middle East. Both bodies, on a bipartisan basis, authorized the US to begin openly training and arming the rebels who have been fighting for three years to overthrow the Assad government in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

... as opposed to having covertly supported them right from the start. I think we ought to load the entire Congress into military transports, hand them rifles, and send them to Syria. Congress (and Obama) are splendidly brave with other people's lives. It's time to see the measure of their true courage and commitment to war!

Silliest Nobel Peace Prize Awarded

The world had hoped President Obama would deliver on his promises of peace and reconciliation and CHANGE the deeply dysfunctional system and its figureheads, when he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in advance.

I had hoped Obama was demonstrating perhaps more obviously than his predecessors just how captive the American President is of his Washington influence groups and their representatives, both Hill and Lobby. He was making himself visibly trapped in the oligarchy.

It was wishful thinking. I think true public servants are few and far in between. In fact, I doubt that such has ever really existed, except in the scripts of Political advisor’s, campaign managers and the fantasies of the electorate.

Obama’s ‘stupid stuff’ turned upside down

So much hard work to pivot from GWOT (Global War on Terrorism) to the Big Boys in Eurasia. So little time – and competence. The Caliph’s goons have announced on the record they would go for beheading Putin. If only the Pentagon would subcontract the job.

First Obama promised there would be no ground troops to fight The Caliph – as in a re-invasion of Iraq. Then General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said that if the current gambit of Obama’s self-defined “Don’t Do Stupid Stuff” foreign policy doctrine does not work – and it won’t – he’ll go for ground troops, embedded or otherwise.

On Ukraine, the Big Picture spells out the European Union mired in a horrendous crisis, under a third recession in five years, obviously without the cash, not to mention the will, to pay Ukraine’s humongous bills. Sooner – with negotiations starting this Saturday in Berlin – or later the EU will have to find an accommodation with Moscow to guarantee its precious gas supplies.

A Host of Possible Objections to Expanded Airstrikes in Syria

Airstrikes on Iraq were a fairly easy sell. The government in Baghdad asked for help in combating the Islamic State, and the United States answered its request.

That is perfectly legal under international law, diplomats agreed, and it helped to get dozens of European and Middle Eastern allies on board. The United Nations secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, applauded the airstrikes as a “decisive” move. Secretary of State John Kerry is now scheduled to preside over a Security Council meeting on Friday, at which more than 40 foreign leaders from as far afield as Germany and Qatar are expected to articulate their support for the American-led effort against the Islamic State, also known as ISIS, in Iraq.

But airstrikes on the group in Syria? That is another matter altogether.

Obama Launches His War, Finally

Obama’s presidency has come full circle by reinventing the neocon dogmas it once professed to reject. On the pretext of fighting the IS, which the US and its allies created in the first instance, what is unfolding is a massive neocon project to remold the Muslim Middle East to suit the US’ geopolitical objectives. Call it by whatever name, it is an imperial war – albeit with a Nobel as commander-in-chief.

The US will pit Muslims against Muslims in a grim war through the deployment of ‘smart power’, which would ensure that American casualties are avoided.

The strategy is built on three pillars – firstly, setting well-defined limits to the actual American intervention in military terms, secondly, resuscitating the ‘regime change’ agenda in Syria and, thirdly, dispensing with any mandate from the United Nations. In essence, it becomes a repackaged version of the crudely unilateralist US intervention in the Middle East by the George W. Bush administration.

Scots Independents Lose Vote but Win the Fight

The centuries-old UK may have been spared for now from imminent dissolution – at least on paper – but sweeping changes are nevertheless on the way, thanks to Scotland’s pro-independence movement.

Indeed, it could be said, the issues raised by the Scots of democratic accountability, more equitable economic policies, and more independence in international relations as opposed to subservience for example to NATO group think, all such issues resonate not just with “separatists” but to many ordinary citizens right across the EU.

The Spanish government in Madrid even threatened to veto an application to the European Union from an independent Scotland. That’s a measure of how concerned Madrid was taking the Scottish “contagion” spreading to its own borders.

THE US IS GUILTY OF CRIMES IN GAZA … BUT NOT YET CHARGED

The U.S. is not a neutral mediator in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict; it is an active participant and is guilty of the crimes being committed by Israel against Palestinians, most recently, the mass killings and destruction Israel wrought on the Gaza Strip during the summer. The reality that the U.S. is an active supporter of unimaginable suffering may very well be the motivating force behind the U.S.’s adamant attempts to block the Palestinians from using any of the internationally recognized tools of accountability to hold Israel responsible, such as the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court. When an indigenous, stateless population is blocked access to opportunities for justice by superpowers like the U.S., something is wrong—deadly wrong.

Ceasefire? A hollow victory indeed

There was more bad news for Israel. The IDF launched a major air and ground military offensives and did not come close to destroying its adversaries’ leadership, organization, military capabilities and alliances. During the seven weeks of brutal attacks against the densely-populated civilian centers, Israel managed to put the Palestinian issue back on the Arab map, draw unprecedented global censure, and give wings to the Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions (BDS) campaign to undermine Israel’s economy. Israel also managed to unify Palestinian political parties across the board – a minor miracle – and make regional heroes out of the “Palestinian Resistance.” With every lash of Israel’s whip, Palestinians found new determination to break the siege of Gaza and end Israel’s occupation.

Police Militarization Is a Consequence of Policing the World

Suggesting that average police officers have become connected, even accidentally, to a larger imperial project may seem outlandish to some, yet a deeper understanding of the historical, cultural and linguistic roots of "imperialism" itself clarifies what has happened to America’s police. The English word "imperialism" is derived from the ancient Latin term imperium, an over two-thousand-year-old Roman concept which signified the power of an official to command and to expect automatic compliance. The key to imperium is in its assignment of hierarchy: it not only describes the authority of an official, but it requires resigned passivity by those whom the official encounters.

Although "police imperialism" may seem difficult to comprehend, examples of police imperium are seen on a daily basis. Police exercise imperium by reacting excessively when average citizens politely invoke their civil rights or ask clarifying questions. Just a few days ago, Santiago Hernandez was frisked by New York police and dared to ask them why. He was subsequently handcuffed, thrown to the ground, pummeled with night sticks, pepper sprayed and beat ‘like it was a gang’ doing it. Hernandez did not break any laws, but he challenged the prevailing imperium of the officers.
