THOUGHT FOR THE DAY!

"Safe nuclear power, reliable space shuttles, rupture proof dams, sturdy bridges, leak-proof oil wells, etc. are all possible. You just have to NOT let the money-junkies make the safety decisions. In every major disaster from Challenger to Chernobyl to Deepwater Horizon to Fukushima it always comes down to some business executive making the decision to not spend the money on the very safety system that would have averted the disaster. It is the overarching quest for profit, not the underlying technology, that is the enemy of all humankind." -- Michael Rivero

US Congress held on leash by Israel

he US Congress has approved new unilateral sanctions on Iran hours before P5+1 talks are to be held to affect the ability of the White House to build cooperation in talks.

Press TV has interviewed Mark Glen from the Crescent and Cross Solidarity movement, Idaho, about the unbalanced influence Israel has over the US Congress that has spearheaded the recent increase in illegal sanctions against Iran. What follows is a rough transcript of the interview.

Press TV: Speaking about the move that has been made by the US Senate just hours before the talks are to start in Baghdad between Iran and the P5+1 group. What do you think this move showing sanctions being approved - another round of unilateral US sanctions… Is this meant to affect the atmosphere of the talks?

Glenn: Well, of course it is. But we also have to keep in mind that we have various diverse interests involved in this.

Rasmussen Poll: 50% Say US Will Go Bankrupt

A Washington Post-ABC News poll found that more than 80 percent of respondents still rate the national economy negatively.

This sounds more realistic than that other poll on CNN which claimed only 30% of Americans felt they were worse off than 3 years ago. Oddly enough, other outlets reporting on this Rasmussen poll say MORE than 50% feel the Federal Government is headed into bankruptcy. Me? I think it is already there and has been for a while.

New York wants to ban anonymous speech online

Lawmakers in New York State are proposing a new legislation that involves the Web, and no, it’s not SOPA-esque or another CISPA-like spy-bill. Politicians in the Empire State want to outlaw anonymous speech on the Internet.

Republican Assemblyman Jim Conte says that the legislation he co-sponsors, Bill no. S06779, would cut down on “mean-spirited and baseless political attacks” and “turns the spotlight on cyberbullies by forcing them to reveal their identity.”

Because Ron Paul backers show up, expect a battle at the GOP convention in Tacoma

Ron Paul placed a distant second in the Republican Party's caucuses here March 3. Mitt Romney scored 38 percent and Paul 25 percent. News stories said Romney had "won" Washington, but really he had not. The game is winning delegates, and in a caucus state a candidate needs supporters who will do more than vote.

Washington sends 43 delegates to the national convention in Tampa. Forty of them will be elected at the state Republican convention in Tacoma June 1-2: 10 at large and three for each congressional district. Who wins, says state party Chairman Kirby Wilbur, "depends on who shows up."

Paul supporters are good at showing up. Look at other caucus states:

FBI quietly forms secretive Net-surveillance unit

The FBI has recently formed a secretive surveillance unit with an ambitious goal: to invent technology that will let police more readily eavesdrop on Internet and wireless communications.

The establishment of the Quantico, Va.-based unit, which is also staffed by agents from the U.S. Marshals Service and the Drug Enforcement Agency, is a response to technological developments that FBI officials believe outpace law enforcement's ability to listen in on private communications.

DCAC's mandate is broad, covering everything from trying to intercept and decode Skype conversations to building custom wiretap hardware or analyzing the gigabytes of data that a wireless provider or social network might turn over in response to a court order. It's also designed to serve as a kind of surveillance help desk for state, local, and other federal police.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Intelligent people already know that you don't say anything on the net that you wouldn't want to have published to the world the next second after you have typed it, or spoken it on Skype.

This is another nasty grab for power by the Federal Government, and may well provide such an intense data overload that the information retrieved proves utterly useless.

Mike and I have come to the conclusion that any surveillance of our emails or text messages by any of the US "alphabet soup" agencies is pure punishment, as most of the communications between us include a lot of "mushy stuff", or lists of very mundane stuff for a grocery store shopping run! :-)

P.S. FBI, please surveill THIS!

Were investors misled about how much Facebook was REALLY worth? Watchdog to investigate claims investors were not told about lower 'forecasts'

The floatation of Facebook is facing a federal probe amid allegations that underwriter Morgan Stanley kept some investors in the dark over forecasts that the stock would tank.

A subpoena has been served on the investment bank in Massachusetts and the federal Securities and Exchange Comission is reviewing the allegations.

Spain: Millions protest cuts to education funding

Most schools and universities are closed today. Both teachers and students are in the streets protesting cuts to educational funding as part of the countries' austerity measures. The government has slashed billions of Euros from the education budget.

The strike spans the whole system from elementary schools to universities. Both teachers and students are taking part in demonstrations today May 22.

The austerity measures if passed will reduced government funding to schools by more than 20 per cent. Unions say this will result in poorer educational conditions, mass teacher layoffs, and also higher tuition costs.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The kids being affected by these cuts didn't cause the problem; the Spanish government did, and should be ousted at the first available opportunity.

It is Israel that murders Palestinians with religiously/racially-inspired fury, and whose citizens cheer as white phosphorous is dropped on civilian areas. It is Israel that shoots young Palestinian boys in Gaza who are merely trying to collect pieces of busted up concrete (the remains of some school, church, mosque or hospital deliberately destroyed by an Israeli missile) in the interest of gathering material so that some kind of rebuilding can take place. It is Israel that maintains a blockade of Gaza so that food, medicine and other necessary materials cannot enter.

Were 500 MILLION Ounces of Paper Silver Just Dumped on the COMEX in 1 Hour?

Capitulation, or the Apex of manipulation? NetDania’s 1 hour silver chart indicates 105,231 silver contracts were dumped on the market this morning between 9am and 10am EST, as silver was smashed a dollar from $28 to $27.

To put this number in perspective, 105,231 contracts is north of 500,000,000 ounces of silver, nearly 2/3rds of entire world annual silver production trading in a single hour!

This is either capitulation/panic selling in the face of the EUR/USD gapping down on Euro contagion fears, or more likely, the most blatant manipulative raid to date…even more than the infamous February 29th Leap Day Massacre!

Deal or no deal, Iran may be bombed – Israeli minister

A military strike against Iranian facilities is not out of the question, even though Tehran has reached agreement on a probe with the UN’s nuclear watchdog, says Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak.

The minister told Army Radio that "a nuclear Iran is intolerable and no options should be taken off the table," referring to the use of force.

He said the only way Israel could see Iran develop its civilian nuclear industry is if it shuts down all of its uranium enrichment sites and uses imported fuel.

NATO Summit in Rearview: The Big and Expensive Non-Event

The NATO summit held in Chicago, Illinois has been hailed as a success by Mayor Rahm Emanuel and President Barack Obama. But has America’s police state erased its 1968 “police riot” or did administration media shills merely apply white out?

The lack of incidence was a testament to, among many things, the continued abdication by the American left of their traditional anti-war stance, having since 2008, been demonstrably inoculated by the Obama presidency. Those who did make it to the protest, an estimated 3,000 souls marching last Friday, were reported to berepresenting over 100 groups of international origin or part of the Occupy movement at large.

The relative peace enjoyed by the City of Chicago during the protests was also likely due to the last minute decision to move the G8 conference to Camp David. Had the G8 simultaneously occupied Chicago beside its military arm – NATO – the affair may have been more, well – lively.

Andrew Rawnsley argued in The Observer in March that Iran was the issue most likely to tear the government apart. The prospect clearly worries Liberal Democrat members of the coalition who are adamant that the UK should operate strictly within the boundaries of international law, and not repeat the mistakes of Iraq.

Disturbing police brutality targeted journalists at NATO summit

Madison Ruppert, Contributor

In the wake of the anti-NATO protests surrounding the Chicago NATO summit on Saturday and Sunday, it has now emerged that there were several troubling incidents of vicious police actions targeting journalists.

Unfortunately, police brutality in the United States has become so commonplace that it is almost to be expected, and when officers stand up to this savagery they are targeted and can even face being fired.

There were numerous incidents reported after the chaos had died down, including some journalists who were arrested and injured by police simply for doing their job and covering the protest.

Photographers found themselves targeted even more frequently than other journalists, likely because they were there recording the hard, indisputable evidence of this brutality...

Gov't meetings with filmmakers of bin Laden movie shocking

According to the newly obtained records, the Obama Defense Department granted Bigelow and her screenwriter Mark Boal access to a “planner, Operator and Commander of SEAL Team Six,” the special forces unit that killed the world's most famous and most wanted terrorist, Osama bin Laden, in a daring covert operation inside Pakistan on May 1, 2011.

According to Judicial Watch officials, the Obama administration wished to assist Bigelow in her preparations for her upcoming feature film.

One document -- which sets the tone of the communications between officials and filmmakers -- notes: The talking points called the raid “a ‘Gutsy Decision’ by the POTUS [Obama],” adding that “WH (White House) involvement was critical.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Edith Cavell was a British nurse in World War I who wrote in the April 15th issue of the Nursing Mirror of her plan to bring the Great War to a speedy conclusion.

During World War I, the citizens on the home front were extolled to donate to help the widows and orphans of war weary Belgium. The British loaded food and other supplies onto railroad cars in Belgium and sent them across no man’s land into German occupied territory to feed the soldiers who were killing British husbands, fathers, sons and brothers. Britain lost 750,000 during the war. Several times that many died after the war from wounds they received during the conflict. All of them were killed by enemy soldiers who had been fed by the Allied leaders and their favorite charity, Belgian War Relief.

The head of British Intelligence for North America was Sir William Wiseman, a partner in the Rothschild associated Kuhn Loeb Investment bank. He ordered the execution of Edith Cavell.

Obama Uses CIA Funded al-Qaeda Attacks in Yemen to Declare National Emergency

Susanne Posel, Contributor
Activist Post

During a military parade rehearsal this week, more than 90 people were killed after a bomber wearing an army uniform self-exploded amidst a group of soldiers at al-Sabin Square. The terrorist group al-Qaeda claimed the bombing, saying that one of their members carried out the attack.

Along with the estimated 90 killed, defense ministry officials said 222 people were injured in the attack. The al-Qaeda plant was present moments before Defense Minister Nasser Ahmed and the army’s chief-of-staff were scheduled to greet the troops. The majority of the dead were stationed from the Central Security Organization.

Yemen has been the stage for al-Qaeda’s attacks against the president Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi, who recently took office. Hadi has declared war against al-Qaeda, saying it is a “religious duty’ of the state to do so.

NYT: Lyme Disease to Blame for JPM’s CIO Derivatives Losses

Even The Onion couldn’t make this s*** up.

In a NYT piece, traders at JPMorgan stated ‘after contracting Lyme disease in 2010, she (CIO Head Ina Drew) was frequently out of the office for a critical period, when her unit was making riskier bets, and her absences allowed long-simmering internal divisions and clashing egos to come to the fore‘.

So let’s get this straight. The New York Times would like its readers to believe that JP Morgan only lost $2 $3 $5 $7 $31.5 billion in tail risk derivative hedges in early 2012 because CIO head Ina Drew was out of the office in 2010 with Lyme disease!?! Surely it couldn’t have anything to do with the financial weapon of mass destruction itself, the unregulated credit default swap?

Election day violations widespread but relatively minor

On the first day of Egypt’s first post-Hosni Mubarak presidential election, violations of electoral laws and fair practices are occurring sporadically across the country. Some campaigns are violating the legally mandated period of campaigning silence, but thus far, no evidence of vote rigging and vote buying has been documented.

Obama Lost A Majority Of Counties In Kentucky To 'Uncommitted' Last Night

Obama has always had a problem with rural white Democrats, one that Hillary Clinton exposed in 2008.

But it has only gotten worse.

Last night, Obama lost a 67 out of 120 counties in Kentucky last night to "Uncommitted." Ultimately, "uncommitted" took 42 percent of the vote.

Let's put that in perspective.

UK Officials Would Protect ‘Interests’ In Iran/Israel Conflict

Keelan Balderson, Contributor
Activist Post

The message from the Anglo-American-Israeli pact has never been more clear, as today Iranian officials have been forced to meet with world powers in Baghdad, Iraq; the city devastated by the US led occupation, which was sold to the public on the back of lies about Weapons of Mass Destruction. Despite there being no evidence that Iran is seeking to produce nuclear weapons, nor that they are anywhere near capable of doing so, the symbolic location of the talks should remind the world that when there is an agenda, facts can be massaged in to place to support it.

PETER SCHIFF: The Housing Bust Was Just A Preview For The Coming Catastrophe

I first came to national attention back in 2008 and 2009 when the housing and credit markets imploded.

Three years later I am now catching heat from many who assume that my predictions actually fell short. They argue that I was able to anticipate the crash but that I severely underestimated the resiliency of the American economy.

When the government’s delaying tactic, which involves continuous borrowing and money printing is no longer tenable, the dollar could collapse, interest rates and consumer prices could soar and the U.S. economy could implode. That’s the real crash that I was warning about, and the one we all need to be worried about now.

President Obama Had Another Embarrassing Close Call In The Arkansas Primary

At least this closer-than-expected call was to a living, breathing person.

Hours after President Barack Obama lost 40 percent of the vote in Kentucky to "Uncommitted," Democratic challenger and human being John Wolfe gave him another contest in Arkansas, in what has become a recurring theme the past two weeks in Appalachia.

The Associated Press called Arkansas for Obama around 11:20 p.m. ET on Tuesday, nearly three hours after the polls closed there.

Memory Hole: Socialist Failures

What is the longest-running socialist experiment? What has its success been?
If someone asked you to defend the idea that socialism has failed, what would you offer as your example?

Where did modern socialism begin?

In America.

That's right: in the land of the free and the home of the braves. On Indian reservations.

They were invented to control adult warriors. They had as a goal to keep the native population in poverty and impotent.

Did the system work? You bet it did.

Has the experiment been a failure? On the contrary, it has been a success.

14 Signposts to Slavery

In 1972 a wonderful little book was published. It arrived with little fanfare yet somehow it has managed to survive for 25 years. Most people have never read it. These are the same people who today are asking questions about what went wrong with America. These are the same people who today find that their plans for the future, no matter how hard they have worked to make those plans a reality, have vanished into thin air. These are the same people who are working 3 jobs to keep what one job secured for them 20 years ago.......These people are you and I, the working middle class, the "We the People."

The book is titled None Dare Call It Conspiracy, and was authored by Gary Allen with Larry Abraham. It was considered very controversial 23 years ago. In retrospect it appears to have been a blueprint for the future of America. That America is perhaps where we are all living today.

When Mitt Romney Came To Town

Mitt Romney was not a capitalist during his reign at Bain. He was a predatory corporate raider. His firm didn't seek to create value. Instead, like a scavenger, Romney looked for businesses he could pick apart. Indeed, he represented the worst possible kind of predator, operating within the law but well outside the bounds of what most real capitalists consider ethical.

Piraeus bank sues Reuters over investigative report

One of Greece's biggest banks has filed a lawsuit against Reuters claiming 50 million euros in damages over a story that exposed a series of property deals between the bank and companies run by the family of its executive chairman.

Piraeus Bank has sued both the news agency, a unit of Thomson Reuters Corp, and the article's author, reporter Stephen Grey. The lawsuit accuses Reuters of malicious defamation and of wishing "to harm the entire Greek banking system."

The Reuters special report, headlined "A Greek banker's secret property deals" and published on Apr. 2, reported Piraeus had rented at least seven properties that were owned by a series of private investment companies directed among others by the wife and two children of the bank's executive chairman, Michalis Sallas, and financed by Piraeus bank loans.

The lawsuit says: "The bank never bought or leased any property, particularly illegal ones, from its chairman or his family."

The corporate whore mainstream media (yes that’s exactly who they are and I don’t apologise for using such harsh language) has purposefully not made any mention of the upcoming Bilderberg Group meeting and has in fact deliberately begun a systematic attack on the alternative media and Bilderberg truthers for their efforts to report on the Bilderberg Group meeting and its agenda...

An investigation has been launched into claims that a private detective firm paid thousands of pounds to serving police officers to provide information about their pursuit of a convicted Nigerian fraudster.

MPs were told yesterday that in a case of "apparent corruption right at the heart of New Scotland Yard" the detective agency Risc Management Ltd was employed by James Ibori to hand £20,000 to two detective constables at the Met and a former detective inspector for information about his case. Ibori was sentenced to 13 years in prison last month after pleading guilty to laundering millions of pounds in Britain.

In-depth analysis puts proper value of Facebook stock lower than $10 a share

In its three days of trading, Facebook's stock has dropped 18 percent from its $38 issue price. For the thousands of investors that bought at the IPO, that's bad enough, but one analysis of its earnings prospects suggests it could get a lot worse - more like $10 a share.

Setting aside the hype and the cultural phenomenon that is the online networking site, Facebook would be fairly priced at $9.59, according to the smattering of Wall Street estimates analyzed and modeled by Thomson Reuters StarMine.

Data from six brokerages modeled by StarMine forecast the company's estimated annualized earnings growth over the next 10 years at 10.8 percent. That's almost exactly the mean for the technology sector and far below the 24 percent growth rate implied by the current stock price.

The cost of downloading: Supreme Court says $675,000 fine remains for sharing 30 songs

Tenenbaum was hit with a $675,000 fine — $22,500 per song — after the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) took him to court over copyright infringement in 2009 and won their case. Following that decision, Nancy Gertner of United States District Court in Boston shot down the jury-determined penalty and reduced it by 90 percent, but not without the RIAA appealing and winning once more, reinstating the original fine.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In Massachusetts, the company Power Fasteners knowingly sold inadequate adhesives to the Big Dig project with the result that a concrete block fell from the ceiling of the Boston's Fort Point Channel Tunnel onto a commuter car, killing Milena Del Valle. Power Fasteners was convicted of involuntary manslaughter. The fine was $1000. So, according to the court system, a copied music file is worth 22 times the life of a human being.

FAKE TERROR - THE ROAD TO WAR AND DICTATORSHIP

Is terrorism inside the United States really from outside, or is it a stage managed production, designed to cause Americans to believe they have no choice but to surrender the Republic and accept the totalitarian rule of a new emperor, or a new Fuhrer?

Indeed, given that acts of terror undermine the very public support needed by the so-called "terrorists" to bring about change, it may be argued that there are in fact no genuine acts of terror; that they are all manufactured events to be blamed on the groups wishing to challenge the status quo.

New Bill Would Make It Legal To Target Propaganda And “Psychological Operations” Directly At U.S. Citizens

Should it be legal for the U.S. government to spend billions of dollars on propaganda designed to change public opinion in the United States? Should it be legal for the U.S. government to use television, radio, newspapers, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, blogs and Internet forums to conduct “psychological operations” targeted at the American public? An amendment that has been added to a new defense bill in Congress would make it legal to target propaganda and “psychological operations” directly at U.S. citizens. The latest version of the National Defense Authorization Act would overturn the Smith-Mundt Act of 1948 and the Foreign Relations Authorization Act of 1987. Those two laws essentially make it illegal for propaganda that is used to influence public opinion overseas to be targeted at U.S. citizens back here at home. If those two laws are struck down, there will be essentially very few limits to what the U.S. government can do to shape our opinions.

Webmaster's Commentary:

War and cheeseburgers

So what's left to save Western civilization? Cheeseburgers. With French - not "freedom" - fries.

This new cheeseburger diplomacy, sealed at the Oval Office by Obama and new French President Francois Hollande, is supposed to save Greece, revamp the eurozone and reignite the US economy, just in time for the November US presidential election. How come the redoubtable US burger chain Five Guys never thought about that before?

The problem is these cheeseburgers are drenched in oil. Iranian oil. Obama is playing the hardliner on Iran essentially for electoral reasons. Over the next five months he might be able to steer the debate were it not for the Europeans - following his directive, in fact - proceeding with their Iranian oil boycott starting on July 1. He dreads the inevitable consequence: an oil price spike. Then it's bye bye European recovery - duly followed by bye bye Obama's re-election.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One thing the author left out of the equation is the possibility of a war in the Middle East, leading potentially to a world war, ignited by the xenophobic, hubristic hatred of Iran's leadership by Israeli leadership.

I truly have to wonder just how comfortable this Israeli leadership feels about killing a number of Iranian Jews, who comprise some of the oldest Jewish settlements in the Middle East. Apparently, genocide of fellow and sister Jews in Iran is not a real issue for them, in their consideration of waging war against Iran.

This strikes me as more than a little odd for a country which claims genocide against Jews in previous generations its "raison d'etre" for everything Israel does in the present.

And that leadership is going to time any attack against Iran at a point where President Obama will not dare do anything else but support such a strike militarily; and we will be off and running.

Pushing for War on Iran

Congressional hawks want war. Bipartisan support backs it. Moderates outnumber hotheads. At issue is for how long.

Saber rattling, fear mongering, and bogus accusations persisted for years. Now it’s showing up in legislation. More on that below.

Possibly a false flag will ignite another Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) for “the use of United States Armed Forces against those responsible for the recent attacks launched against the United States.”

Bringing It All Back Home: Occupied Chicago is America’s New Normal

Nato claims its purpose is to secure peace through security; in much of Chicago neither exists.

This violence, be it at the hands of the state or gangs, is both compounded and underpinned by racial and economic disadvantage. The poorer the neighbourhood the more violent, the wealthier the safer. This is no coincidence. Much like the Nato summit – and the G8 summit that preceded it – the system is set up not to spread wealth but to preserve and protect it, not to relieve chaos but to contain and punish it.

Chicago illustrates how the developing world is everywhere, not least in the heart of the developed. The mortality rate for black infants in the city is on a par with the West Bank; black life expectancy in Illinois is just below Egypt and just above Uzbekistan. More than a quarter of Chicagoans have no health insurance, one in five black male Chicagoans are unemployed and one in three live in poverty. Latinos do not fare much better.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Unflipping believable.

States back Montana in Citizens United campaign finance fight

Twenty-two US states ask supreme court to revisit controversial ruling that lifts restrictions on corporate money in politics.

Nearly half of US states have thrown their weight behind a legal defence of local laws restricting corporate money in politics by asking the supreme court to revisit its widely-criticised ban on similar national legislation.

The states filed a brief with the supreme court on Monday in support of a century-old law in Montana – the Corrupt Practices Act – against companies pumping money into elections.

Youth joblessness near crisis peak

Youth joblessness is almost back at its peak following the outbreak of the global economic crisis and is unlikely to ease until at least 2016, the International Labour Organization warned Tuesday.

The ILO said nearly 75 million youths or 12.7 percent of people aged 15 to 24 will be out of work this year, up from 12.6 percent in 2011.

The jobless total is creeping towards the 75.4 million unemployed in 2009 when the financial crisis caused the number to soar.

The picture is more gloomy if the millions who have put off or given up looking for a job are included: this would put the 2011 figure at 13.6 percent.

U.S. Has Spent $642 Billion on Afghan War, Including almost $200 Billion for This Year and Next

While Washington’s rhetoric has focused recently on the coming end to the war in Afghanistan, its spending on the conflict is not at all waning.

Between this year and next, the federal government plans to spend nearly $200 billion on the war. If it does so, the U.S. will have spent about $642 billion since 2001 on fighting the Taliban, al-Qaeda and allied groups, local militias and warlords in Afghanistan.

One think tank, the Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS), characterized the spending commitment for 2012 and 2013 as “incredible” given the lack of controls, plans, auditing and effectiveness employed by the Obama administration to win the war.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The only individuals "winning" this war are the drug lords, the corporate banks which launder their profits, and the huge defense contractors providing mercenaries, materials, and logistics for the US government.

Facebook's CYA Statement

And then there’s the question of whether Mark Zuckerberg’s company – that he controls more absolutely than Rupert Murdoch has ever controlled News Corporation – will be able to manage that growth.

American IPO documents are filled with bum-covering negative statements, but even for them this was an arresting statement buried deep in Facebook’s S-1 filing:

“We cannot assure you that we will effectively manage our growth.

TSA Backlash Prompts Move Away From Pat Downs

Following a massive nationwide backlash, the TSA looks set to move away from invasive pat downs and return to wanding-style searches of travelers.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Not enough., When the TSA is GONE and our tourism returns, then we'll talk about forgiveness.

OH RAPTURE!

One of the major problems America faces is a large population of religious fundamentalists who have become as fanatical in their own way as any Middle Eastern Ayatollah. At present, they are caught up in their own version of the myth of the end of the world, and hope that by working to bring it about, they'll get to sit at the right hand of their diety and to hell with everyone else. No doubt fistfights will break out over who gets to sit closest, but that is a subject for another article.

An inmate was also injured, and some two dozen employees were held hostage yesterday at the Adams County Correctional Facility in Natchez. One section of the prison apparently remained under prisoner control as of late last night.

Is 2013 the Real 2012?

Janet C. Phelan
Activist Post

Apocalyptic fever is running high. A friend in the Bible Belt, who recently became “born again,” called me excitedly to tell me she was leaving me her house. “In case I suddenly vanish,” she confided.

Of course. She would be raptured up and I, a hardcore “One God” believer, would be left behind. How sweet of her to make preparations for the damned.

But as the projected date for the rapture came and went and disappointed, my friend abandoned her newfound religion.

Not so fast for the 2012-ers, however. The end of the world is still scheduled for December 21, 2012 according to those who buy into the Mayan prophecies, Planet X, Niburu, exponential solar flares – did I miss anything? ...

Israel stirs nuke hype to hide domestic ills: Austria

Vienna—Austria’s Defense Minister Norbert Darabos says Israel seeks to distract attention from its domestic social problems through creating hype over Iran’s nuclear energy program. Pointing to the fact that Iran’s nuclear energy program is not diverted toward building nuclear weapons, Darabos described Israel’s “threats” against Iran as “unnecessary.” The Austrian defense minister said Tel Aviv is using inflated claims regarding the Iranian nuclear energy program as well as “the Palestinian issue” to “distract attention from internal social problems.”

A Report From Obama’s “Humane” Drug War: “My son screamed for his mother for what seemed like an eternity”

At 5:30 a.m. on May 10, armed men broke into the bedroom of Kirk Kyle Farrar’s 12 year-old daughter and shook her awake. The men led her downstairs at gunpoint and forced her to lie on the floor next to her mother and father, with her hands behind her head. Another armed man took Farrar’s two-year-old son from his crib, and would not let his parents hold him. “My son screamed for his mother for what seemed like an eternity,” Farrar wrote in an email to friends, obtained by Reason. “I will never forget the hopeless feeling of not being able to comfort my son or daughter.”

Afghanistan's Corruption Breeds Failure

Corruption in Afghanistan extends beyond petty bribery and kickbacks, so much that too many Karzai power brokers gain much from war and will lose from peace. Corruption is everywhere, from the central government to development and security contracting. Speak out against corruption too strongly, however, and you may find yourself prohibited from entering the country.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai recently banned Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, California Republican, from entering Kabul for alleging that Mr. Karzai and his supporters rule through exclusionary tactics and make money to stay in power.

THE ONGOING KOSHER JIHAD

As we approach the second anniversary of the attack on the Mavi Marmara, we can see that Israel’s attitudes towards its own terrorism has not changed one iota. We can see this in the events just over the past few days.

We saw this attitude from the very beginning as the maniacal right saw this terrorism as a form of humour, turning it into a Kosher Jihad. Two videos produced exhibit this sickness and contempt for the world, both edited by the Jerusalem Post’s Psycho Gal.

Believe me, I’m not being mean when I refer to Caroline Glick as a psycho …. it’s a FACT! Take a look at THIS video if you doubt me. If you are still not convinced, click on other videos listed in the right sidebar of the site.

Both videos presented below violate all copyright laws, yet YouTube allows them to remain on line. This alone demonstrates YouTube’s support for zionism and the Kosher Jihad I speak of…

JEWS AGAINST THE INTERNET AND ….. ZIONISM

A rabbi named Yechiel Meir Katz had drawn an implicit historical parallel in his address earlier in the evening between the rejection of Zionism by the Orthodox and the need to reject the Internet.

Another speaker, Rabbi Ephraim Wachsman, underlined the point, citing Communism and Zionism as historical challenges the Jewish people had been forced overcome.
